What a horrible night I had. We have been regulars but tonight we made a reservation and had to wait 45 minutes because they didn’t bother to save a table. They told us everyone had reservations… but that would indicate they overbooked. That’s actually worse than telling me you misjudged and people wouldn’t leave. People seemed annoyed we were standing there waiting but there is no bar at which you could wait and we weren’t about to spend 45 minutes waiting in the cold outside. And when they finally seated us, we got a terrible table by the kitchen. Had I been the manager, I would have bought the table a round of drinks to try to make it up to them, but they didn’t have that much class. They couldn’t be bothered. Because the waiter knew us he tried to make it better at least. I know him and I can’t fault him. It’s the only reason we tried to leave a good tip… but even that was messed up… more on that later. He bought one order of calamari for four people and, later, one order of tartufo. Since I wanted neither, it made no difference to me but I wanted to make sure he got a good tip because at least he acknowledged the problem. Don’t get me wrong… the food is pretty good there. We’ve been there many times, though I do think I won’t be going back for awhile after tonight. It’s only because I like the waiter that we left a good tip. The clincher was that the waitress, who gave us the check after the waiter who served us had left, got snotty with us when we questioned the charge which already included the tip. and which we wanted to be certain went to the person who actually served us. How dare you treat regular customers like this??? I guess they are busy enough that they don’t need regulars… although I’ve seen a lot of restaurants in this area suffer when they couldn’t count on regulars any more. I’ll give it 3 stars for decent food(not outstanding — the foccaccia was burned and the lobster in the pasta special was all very small and rubbery claws without even a small chunk of tail but the shrimp were good and so was the pasta) and for the waitstaff that I know who have previously treated us well. But it’s like that old Seinfeld episode…“you know how to TAKE the reservation, but you don’t know how to HOLD the reservation… and really… holding the reservation is the important part.” And we weren’t late, because I make if a point to never keep people waiting. I should have left after 30 minutes. I blame myself for letting them do this. But I really thought they would try to make it up to us and they didn’t care. I guess they don’t need our money. It’s going to be awhile before they see any money from me again.

Visited«Sugar and Tomatoes» about a week ago with a small group of ladies and we had a fine dinner. I would say it was about average, though honestly I had a difficult time making a selection that evening. I ordered the«Rigatoni Pollo Pazzo» and frankly, there was nothing crazy about it; good or bad. Perhaps a bit on the salty side. Our caesar salads were fine, though the anchovies we asked for afterwards brought them up a notch. My guests seemed to enjoy their meals, and the service was definitely above average; very pleasant. The best part of the meal was dessert, and the tiramisu was borderline excellent. Overall, being close to my place on the east side, I would give them another try next time I’m craving Italian… but likely not for a while.

Tortellini della Nonna was really the best we’ve tried on the menu, and also good was the fresh made squid ink pasta. The place isn’t super charming or fitting of a small Italian eatery with non-Italian wait staff, but damn the food makes up for it.

I came here for brunch to celebrate my birthday with a bunch of friends. Absolutely fantastic brunch spot. It has a boozy special, which is $ 20 for unlimited champagne, mimosas, bellinis, bloody marys, or screwdrivers on top of your meal. I stuck with the bellinis throughout — they were delicious and you have a choice of either mango or peach. The guys were super generous about refills and didn’t let anyone go too long with an empty glass! I got the prosciutto panini for my meal. I will admit though, I wish that I had gotten a pasta dish. My friends raved about their pastas and they looked delicious. I was satisfied with my panini though! It came with a side of fries. It’s not your typical boozy brunch spot. It’s a nice Italian restaurant(not too fancy but not too casual) so it’s something you would picture more so for dinner. But that’s what I loved about it! It was a nice breath of fresh air from standard bottomless brunches around the city. My only complaint about this place was that I made a reservation for 15 people and it wasn’t until we arrived that we realized we would have to split into two tables. That was definitely something that I would have liked to know beforehand. However, it worked out and I’m really glad I landed on Zucchero!

Coming in hot with the rigatoni pasta !!! It was amazing. I went here for a great birthday brunch with a large group. The staff did a great job taking care of us, I just wish they mentioned before we showed up that we had to split up. I did the boozy brunch with mimosas, two hour unlimited for 20 $ and they were heavy on the champagne! I ate the prosciutto panini which came with delicious French fries. My boyfriend has the rigatoni pasta which was by far the best thing I have ever tasted!!! Over all great experience and amazing little place. I would love to go for dinner next time!

I went here for a birthday dinner. It has that charming family-owned Italian restaurant feel. The hostesses and waiters were all friendly and attentive. It wasn’t super crowded so we enjoyed a nice quiet dinner. I had the chicken parm and a glass of Merlot. Both were generous portions and absolutely delicious!

I don’t leave reviews often but when I saw this place with less than 4 stars I had to chime in. This place is delicious for eat in or delivery. The pastas are amazing I especially love everything on the menu with the pink vodka sauce. Uva is my favorite Italian restaurant in UES but this place is a close second and cheaper. Highly recommended.

I have been here for lunch a couple of times and I have enjoyed it. Came for dinner and was disappointed. I had to return my salad because the lettuce was wilted and ordered a different salad which was tasteless. My pasta was drenched in a heavy sauce. I don’t know what happened tonight, perhaps they had a different chef. It just wasn’t good this time and I’m now a bit put off on returning.

Came here for the second time for the unlimited drinks brunch. Unlimited drinks: a good selection of bottomless drinks, which you can alternate depending on what you want; the champagne is not watered down and is actually pretty great for the price. I would recommend the Bellini if you like sweet. The Bloody Mary is in the spicy side. They are very good about refills; the servers make sure that your glass is always full with something. Food: again, this is from the brunch menu only. The bolognese parpadelle is good, the parpadelle being slightly thinner than most parpadelle dishes I’ve had. Like the bolognese sauce. I’ve had the pascatore seafood linguini before, I remember that being really good too. Would not recommend the omelette — the omelette runs small and the side salad that comes with it doesn’t compensate for it. Would def get the pasta options here. Décor/ambience: spacious interior, and nice wooden or marble tables for large parties. Bright but nicely air conditioned. Would come here again for the brunch drinks!

Loved my lunch here! My coworker and I came on our lunch break and were quickly seated. We both ordered the rigatoni with eggplant, tomato and oven-baked ricotta. The lunch specials come with soup or Cesar salad or mixed salad.(The mixed salad is just mixed greens.) I really enjoyed the Cesar salad. Pasta was delicious, tons of flavor and cooked to perfection. Portion size was not too large, but enough to feel full. My only complaint is that it seemed a little salty, but another person might not feel this way. Can’t wait to come back to try something else!

We came here for brunch, the service was attentive, and nice space with outdoor seating. The food was good, not the best Italian I’ve had, but certainly good to visit on the Upper East Side.

Some of the best pasta on the upper east side-and there are a ton of great pasta places to choose from. It’s probably one of the things i miss most about living on the UES. I ordered on seamless more times than I care to mention. Their Linguine Vongole is to die for.

If I were reviewing the restaurant on food, atmosphere, location and value, I would give 5 stars. However, the restaurant loses a star for the horrible service I had this past Saturday night. Our waitress couldn’t care less about us. we had to have other staff call her away from the computer on three separate occasions to come take our order, get a dessert menu and the check. I had a Caesar salad, and for an entrée, the rigatoni with sun dried tomatoes and chicken. Yum – it was perfect. Portions were just right too. I will give it another try though!

I would give 4 stars. Food was excellent and the staff was very attentive. But we went for New Year’s Eve with a reservation for 11 and they ran out of bread! How does an Italian restaurant run out of bread on NYE? Seems crazy to me. To be fair they did give us complimentary calamari but it was a poor consolation for a vegan. Will go back as the pasta was fresh and delicious.

They nailed it! Lunch special is under 10 bucks a person and it’s delicious. You get bread, salad and an entrée! My friend and I each had the long thin pasta with the ham, peas, and pink sauce. Delicious, satiating, and quick service. I wish I lived here still. I would come back again and again.

Taken here for a fathers day brunch. It was decent, unlimited mimosas, screwdrivers, and belinis… yes please. The screwdrivers are large and in charge, however, it must be well vodka, not the good stuff. I’ve been before and I’ll be back again. They should probably combine some of the omelet and pancake/french toast choices. Get rid of the«side salad» because its boring and dull. I ordered the spinach and parm omelet with a side of home fries and bacon. The portion of bacon for $ 2.50 leaves much to be desired. I do like the restaurant, but some minor changes would make the experience better.

I came here for brunch and the unlimited special definitely makes it worth it. I’m not sure that many people know about it, which I kinda like because it’s not overcrowded, there’s not a wait and you can easily grab a seat outside or a large table inside with friends. The service was great and no mimosa glass went unfilled for 2 hours. The food wasn’t anything to rave about, but I’m definitely anxious to get back here and try it out for dinner!

I’m definitely a fan of their gnocchi with pesto sauce and the pappardelle with chicken, mushrooms and tomatoes. Probably my favorite gnocchi thus far in NYC out of maybe 6 places. The gnocchi had a good consistency and texture, yum! And the sauces they used for both dishes were not heavy. I prefer this place over Uva.

I went to this restaurant for Valentines Day. I opted to not go with the Valentines Day menu and got a pasta and meat dish with my girl friend which we split. As soon as we entered the restaurant there was a nice hostess who seated us and we got served water and bread with this raspberry wine oil to dip the bread in and it was amazing. We decided to opt out of getting an appetizer and got the chicken parm as everyone on Unilocal said it was amazing and they were right it was soooo good. We also got a pasta dish which was good. and for desert we split the ricotta cheesecake which was ok. Pros: Amazing bread with this special oil Great Chicken parm The food came out pretty quick Cons: The waiter took forever to take our order The waiter took forever to give us the check I would have given 5 stars if the wait staff was more attentive and they actually filled my glass with water more than once.

came here on a weekday afternoon around 3pm. The place was completely empty and the staffs were all taking breaks sitting down and eating the bread they gave was warm and fresh Had the fettuccine with red meat sauce and the sea bass made with mussels and clams. Both were pretty decent but not great For dessert, we had chocolate and vanilla ice cream wrapped in milk chocolate with a cherry in the middle. it was quiet yummy we had to flag down the waiters for almost everything. Not sure if it was the time that we were there or something. Overall, it was just ok. won’t particularly want to return again
