Visited The Greek for a birthday celebration for the very first experience yesterday. From the moment we walked in I had a great feeling about the place. The hostess gave us the most warm welcome, it was as though we were visiting friends and family for dinner. Everything we ordered on the menu was excellent a bit pricey but good. For appetizers and salads we had the dips, tomato with cheese(can’t remember the name), greek salad — all good. For main course we had the mixed grill, Mousaka and Short rib. One suggestion would be to make the dips sizes a little bigger. Great food and great people

This is a fantastic little place with amazing food and delightful service. Tonight, I went with colleagues who hadn’t ever been and everyone loved it. The Greek salad is perfect; the spinach and feta pies are flaky and flavorful and the chicken dinner was such a generous portion that there was enough for one colleague to take home a whole other meal for her husband. All in all, reasonably priced for NYC with such a balanced and curated menu that allows for each dish to be delicious.

Fresh Authentic Greek Food, delicious! Have been back twice already. Our waitress was a love! She explained the menu and gave us wonderful suggestions. Intimate décor in the heart of TriBeCa A must if you crave a fresh and healthy Greek meal.

The Greek food here is amazing. Preface: if you are comparing this to Greek pitas and gyros — please be aware that this is a restaurant, not a street meat cart Drinks: all of the greek wines are amazing but the cocktails are where it’s at. My personal favorite is the Paris, with the Cassandra as a close second. Shawn is my favorite bartender because she makes fantastic drinks, is super attentive, and is great at recommending items on the menu. Food: the food here is amazing! It’s fresh and delicious — with the perfect amount of fresh herbs and natural flavors Appetizers: the octapodi xidato is a great chilled octopus salad. If you’re in the mood for cold seafood, this is the route to go. If you want an app just to munch on, the spreads is great because the Greek spreads are delish and filling Salads: the horiatiki is my favorite! Headings/grandmas: tyrokeoketes. Aka the cheese croquettes. Amazing fried balls of cheese drizzled in honey. Personally, I think these are the most understated item of the menu because they are the most delicious cheese balls I’ve ever had and should be eaten by everyone. Aka I would live off of them if I could eat — these tiny balls of heaven. Traditional: Mastelo — anything that is grilled cheese, tomato, and pepper on a plate is an amazing appetizer. Octapodi– is a delicious octopus dish meant to be shared. Mains: all of the fish are great. I love Greek fish because it brings out all of these great fresh flavors while keeping it simple and letting the fish speak for itself Dessert: the galaktoboureko and the baklava are fantastic — just make sure you leave room for dessert!

Delicious food, and the ambiance is wonderful. Cozy, friendly, and very hospitable. Service is top notch. They serve a small thoughtful menu of upgraded versions of classic Greek fare. I recommend the meze plate(various dips and pita), as well as the pastitsio, which is more tomato-ey than usual but really well done, and has a great presentation.

Nice place. Great Octopus. Neat toast. Staff is slightly hipsters-ish, but friendly and quick.

Food is totally average. They need to hire a better chef, we sent back the fish because it was totally off /spoiled /very fishy. The condescending chef comes out not happy that we sent the fish back, he was very inappropriate the owners really should reconsider hiring someone new . The waitress Tatianna was a gem.

In quest for the best grilled octopus I thought I should try the Greek as the reviews for octapodi is raving! We were so disappointed! It was chewy and had too much olive oil on it(just TOO much) The restaurant is cute though and service was supper polite and fast.

Came here for our 3 year anniversary. We both feel in love-with the food, the energy, and the culture. Everything, from the woman who greeted us, to our wonderful waitress, the food, the music, the unique, romantic décor, the smells; everything was perfect. The food came out fast, and smelled fantastic. I ordered the oven baked chicken he had the lamb chops.(I liked his food choice better, but that’s because I ordered the chicken to be safe with my own dietary restrictions.)(by the way: lots of GF and vegan options). My plate came with the most tender chicken I’ve ever had and a side of potatoes which were actually better than the chicken itself! For desert we had halva covered in honey and Greek yogurt(it was so goood my mouth waters just thinking about it again!!) the Greek yogurt balanced out the sweetness of the honey and halva. Absolutely coming here again just for that. It almost felt like we escaped New York for a few hours. Super romantic, excellent service and food. Way beyond my expectation.

One of the best restaurants I have been to in NYC so far. Love the charming atmosphere n the stylish décor there. Staffs are friendly. We got there early, so it’s nice quiet, pretty chill. ;) My bf ordered lamb chops, and I had moussaka. Both of them were fantastic! The lamb was juicy n tender. The moussaka is bit similar to lasagna but with mashed potatoes, zucchini n eggplant. So I assume it’s healthier? Hahahaha It looks small but really really filling. Just love it! Thanks to my bf, had a wonderful dinner there!!!

Perhaps it’s not fair to write a review for a restaurant when you’ve only had a Greek salad and glass of wine for lunch, but here I am. As others have noted, this establishment is on the pricey side. My meager lunch was $ 30 plus tip. The wine suggested by the bartender was nice, and $ 12. My sparse Greek salad had a total of 2 olives and a few squares of feta cheese, and it was $ 16. I could have added chicken for an additional $ 6. I had to ask for some pita bread so I wouldn’t be starving again in 15 minutes. Service was fast and good. Perhaps I’ll try it again for dinner and order something else. The décor is very inviting and romantic!

3.5 stars. I really wanted to love this place, but in the end unfortunately it was just way too expensive for what it was. Let me start off though by acknowledging that the ambiance is beautiful. If you’re looking for upscale yet lively and aren’t afraid to spend some extra dollars, this could be a great date spot. The lighting is just dark enough to be cozy, it’s not crazily loud and there’s just enough room between the tables to lend some intimacy. I came here with 2 girlfriends and we ordered some cocktails(Electra and Paris), the octopodi, fries and moussaka. We all loved the drinks-the Electra was refreshingly tart and the Paris was a very fruity, well balanced sweet cocktail. We had really high expectations for the food but were a bit disappointed. Their famous octopus was a little too sour. The fries were just a bit too salty. The moussaka was actually all around solid but really tiny for a $ 32 dish. Our bill turned out to be $ 47 each after tip, which we felt was pretty high considering the amount/quality of food we got. Service was very friendly and fairly prompt. It was overall a great experience but if you’re looking for authentic Greek that won’t break your bank, try Kiki’s instead!

I have been meaning to try this place for a while and finally went last night. It was crowded when we got there but the manager? Owner? Tom made sure to let us know when a spot at the bar opened up. They offer the full menu at the bar so we just decided to eat there. I thought eating at the bar was great. It was comfortable, not too noisy and we didn’t feel rushed at all. After our meal we stayed for another drink because we were having such a good time. The atmosphere and music were great and the bartender was friendly and made a great Old Fashioned. We ordered the grilled octopus, some stuffed filo bread, meatballs and lamb chops. Everything was great but the lamb chops really stood out. Definitely some of the best I’ve had. I will definitely be back, everything about this restaurant from the food and drinks, to the service, to the vibe is outstanding.

No complementary fava dip anymore, which is a bummer. Still high quality experience, but the octopodi was not as good as last time and I must admit, the wine list is pretty steeply priced if you’re looking to have more than one glass(average $ 15/glass or $ 60/bottle).

Ok, this is where the big boys(and girls) eat. As good as it gets for experience, ambience and food. The bar and dining room are perfectly lit, the staff are just ‘there’ but not overly fussy and food aside this place feels special, on a higher level to pretty much else anything else I’ve tried in New York. The fact that the food is simply delicious, mouth wateringly so, cements an ‘easy’ 5 star review. I normally wait 24hrs before posting a review to see how I felt about an experience ‘on reflection’ …no need here, The Greek is quite simply the nicest overall dining experience I’ve had in New York City. Take a step of those TriBeCa cobbled streets and get inside, I can honestly promise you will not regret it, fantastic.

Loved the overall feel of this place. The décor is amazing and it was so cozy and very romantic for Valentine’s Day dinner. The service was fantastic and they had a great wine selection. One of the best bottles of Sauvignon Blanc I’ve ever had but I unfortunately forget the name. We started with the spreads thinking that it would be pretty basic, but it was actually a stand-out. The spreads are incredible and the pita bread is special. Great appetizer. Then we ordered the octopus… DELICIOUS. Very big portion too which I really respect. Most restaurants charge a lot for octopus and give you nothing, this was a big portion and tasted great. Lastly, we had the mixed grill to share which included filet mignon, pork chops, sausage, and fries. The filet mignon and pork was mouth-watering. Really soft, tender, great taste. The sausage was whatever and so were the fries. Now, the reason I take off a star is because THISPLACESHOULDNOTHAVETWO $ SIGNS. It should actually have more like 4($$$$) to be completely honest. SUPER pricey. Our bill was $ 250 for one bottle of wine and the three plates. I believe the meat plate was close to $ 100, but it really wasn’t worth that. I left feeling bad that my date had to pay that much when we expected so much cheaper. This place is definitely a rip off and should warn people before going, but that doesn’t take away from how great the experience was overall. Felt bad because as we were walking out, we noticed everyone else there on a Valentine’s Day date was very young, in their 20’s, and probably saw the«$$» thinking this place is affordable… IT’S NOT.

Solid Mediterranean food. I ordered leg of lamb which was delicious. The meat was cooked medium rare– tender and juicy. My boyfriend ordered vegetarian stuffed peppers, which he also loved. He can’t eat seafood and is weary of meats that aren’t chicken/beef. I kept feeding him bites of the lamb(since it tastes similar to beef), which he enjoyed until I told him it was lamb XD.

This place has the best Octopus in NYC. You should definitely come here just for that appetizer… wow, it’s amazing. It’s not chewy and has a bit of a crisp at the end. Basically, The Greek has figured out how to perfectly cook this dish. Highly recommend if you’re ever in the neighborhood.

My boyfriend and I stumbled across this restaurant while walking around the neighborhood. Without a reservation we were able to grab a table without much of a wait. I chose to stick with wine while my boyfriend tried two of their speciality cocktails. In both cases we took suggestions from our server, which we were extremely happy with. We started with the spreads. I could not even tell you which I liked the best since they were all equally delicious. The bread was toasted to perfection and gave just the right amount of crunch once combined with the creamy spreads. We then had the 7 star shrimp. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the sauce was very flavorful. The only issue we had was the lack of melted cheese. In the past, saganaki style meant there was a layer of melted cheese of top, but I think they are doing it differently here. Regardless, it was still good. For entrees I had the scallops and my boyfriend has the mousaka. We also split a side of the bitter greens. My scallops were out of this world. Cooked perfectly and paired with perfect sides to add layers of texture and flavor to the dish. Lastly, we ended with Napoleon. This is something I will continue to dream about. Best dessert and something I will come back for. Great job with this spot, we look forward to returning!

Für eher europäische Verhältnisse etwas laut also wenn man sich beim essen unterhalten will muss man sehr laut reden aber das Essen war exzellent(v.a. nicht zu deftig was man oft beim Griechen kriegt) und die Kellner waren auch freundlich!
