Anecdote: recently I went to Petland discounts and saw a very sick turtle. After telling an employee about it, I was told that they were shipping the turtle back to the warehouse in the next week. In contrast, at Spoiled Brat’s, when one of their cats was sick, a vet came to the store to check on the cat. If that doesn’t tell you about the mentality of each store than I don’t know what will.

Free delivery and has specialty dog food for prescribed diets.

I love this place. It doesn’t have some of the fancier brands, and yes it can get a little pricey on some items, but the guys working there are awesome. They’ve never led me astray with choosing things for my pup.
I have a tiny 5 month old 3 pound chihuahua who gets cold really often. I bought a sweater here that fits him like a glove, and is cute as hell. It looks like it was knit by some trendy Soho grandma. LOVE.
One time we bought a puppy harness here that fit in the store, but then my dog refused to walk in it because it was too big between his front legs. I came back to buy some dog food without the harness and told them what happened, and they gave me the food for free and told me to just return the harness. What great dudes. I was away for a week and when I returned I brought the harness back, no muss no fuss.
They treat the customer really well, and they treat my dog even better. Highly recommend!

Staff are beyond wonderful! My dog can’t even walk passed the store without wanting to go in. Even when they’re closed (which sometimes causes a few tears!)

Small, good pet store with nice staff and good products. They even have Hill’s Prescription wet cat food here!

Thought this place was great — lots of made in America items, helpful staff and overall it seems like a nice local petstore who helps with foster opportunities and sells quality items. Their hours are good too!

Its a small pet store in Hells Kitchen/​Theater District. Great place and will bargain for somethings. Have doggy clothes food treats collars all the basic necessities any dog or cat owner could dream of. Would recommend only if in the area because there are just too many stores/​competition.

Tiny little pet store in the Theater District. A lot of things for cats here are hidden in plain sight. Check out the catnip patches at the register that are made in the USA.
They also have some selection of cat collars and toys but you’ll probably do better here if you’re buying for a dog. Oh, and they do allow dogs inside since I did see one lady here with her dog on a leash & the guy at the register didn’t get mad or object. Staff was friendly enough. Not a regular stop for us but if we really needed to find something, we’d consider returning.

This the closest and best stocked pet supply store near my work. I usually do ALL of my pet shopping online but stopped in her to see what they had to offer. A lot, it seems.
I purchased a winter jacket for my Parsons Russell in a size Large, the gentleman who was work (who has been working all the subsequent times as well) said to come back if it didn’t fit and he’d exchange it. Of course it was a size too big and I couldn’t find the receipt. I was expecting a big fight when I came back receptless but instead the gentleman found me a Medium and swapped it with me no fuss no muss.
Every time I’ve come in they have had what I needed and they stock Buddy Biscuits which are my dog’s favorite! I recommend this shop for locals and workers in the neighborhood. Just be ready to pay Manhattan prices.

Most of the staff is pretty to really nice and helpful, but there is one guy, who I think is an owner, who acts like I have cooties or something. On the one hand, he always asks me if I need help and gave me a treat for my dog once. On the other, whenever I say anything that’s not strictly business-​related (e.g., «hey, what a nice cat»), he gets a disgusted look on his face and doesn’t respond. After several unpleasant encounters, I’ve learned not to chat him up, but sometimes HE’ll say something to me and I’ll forget to keep my mouth shut, say something, then boom! I get the cooties look.
Their prices range from a little to outrageously overpriced. I saw a dog carrier/​backpack online for $ 35, and went to SB to buy something similar, knowing I’d have to pay a premium. I found a near-​identical bag, different maker, but for over $ 100!!! I get there can be a quality difference, but $ 70 worth? Don’t think so. They do have a good selection of certain things such as carriers and high-​end food for a small store so they can be useful in a bind, but be prepared to pay for it.

This small neighborhood pet store has a spacious organized layout while maintaing a home-​grown atmosphere (see photo). It is well-​stocked with lots of reasonably-​priced stuff for cats and dogs from the basic essentials to the whimsical. Their service is helpful and friendly and to top it off they deliver locally! It’s hard to say whether it’s the pets or their owners who are the «spoiled brats» here.

Well-​stocked cute little shop equally embracing with both cats and dogs. There’s a back room at the far end of the store solely devoted to rescued adult kitties up for adoption (a part of Anjellicle Cats Rescue), where the volunteers feed them EVO. Uh huh. It warms my heart.

When i was dog sitting a friend of mines pug I came in here one afternoon looking for a bee costume for the cute ‘lil thing. I thought how sick it would be to walk down 9^th avenue with this pug dressed as a big blaring some Black Eyed Pea’s on my i-​pod.
I stepped in and found the dog outfits quite quickly but i didn’t see one resembling a bee or other cute lil insect. So, i asked the guy if they had one in stock or something similar. He looked at me like i was so wrong for wanting to dress up a dog when he worked in a store that supplied the outfits. Not like i was lookin for booties for my dog. that is just wrong.

The customer service here is truly outstanding! I was searching ALL over the city for a particular grain free kitten feed, Felidae for Cat & Kitten grain-​free. and just when I was about to give up the sales clerk at Spoiled Brats, over the phone, said he’d be happy to order it in for tomorrow. He totally delivered on his promise.
The store itself has a wide variety of food, toys and treats. and for now on I will make the monthly pilgrimage from the LES to Midtown West, to support their business.

This store had two cats living out front the last time I visited and they have later hours than their counterpart in the heights on W-​F.
In the back they also shelter some kitties for anjellicle cats and that’s some kinda awesome.
Prices are pricey… water is wet, rent is steep, but all in all a good shop.
After visiting Happy Paws I can’t justify going here anymore.

I haven’t even been to this store, but wouldn’t go after speaking to the rude clerk on the phone. My cats are pescatarian, and I was looking for a vegetarian dry food. When I asked if they carried any, the clerk responded that such a thing doesn’t exist. (Totally false, as my cats usually eat Evolution Vegan food, but I have to order it from the Midwest and I need food now.) When I told him that wasn’t true, he started railing on me for having my cats be [mostly] vegetarian.
I have extensively studied the matter, and my cats’ health has improved dramatically after becoming vegetarian (I was scared to death after having my boy hospitalized from eating contaminated Nutro last year). It’s one thing to not know pet food options, but I don’t need some clerk bashing me seeing as my cats, my vet and I am happy with a vegetarian diet.

I stopped in while just walking by en route to another appointment,. I’m in Hell’s Kitchen all the time and had never seen this store before.
Four stars for the excellent selection and friendly staff, minus two stars for the horrendous overpricing. Old Mother Hubbard Bitz treats, a staple item in my house, cost $ 4.09 at Happy Paws on Lafayette and Houston. Here they cost $ 6.99, and I can guarantee the rent in SoHo trumps the rent in Hell’s Kitchen.
It’s good it’s here if you’re in a jam or live next door, I guess. The cat in the window seemed to be very cool and friendly. If I am in the neighborhood and need something urgently, which I did when I stopped in (a leash that has a rubber reinforced handle we like to use), I would come here, but I wouldn’t shop here regularly when Beasty Feast, Furry Paws and other small NYC chains deliver and have better prices.

This is actually for the branch up in Washington Heights, at 181^st and Bennett. This area has desperately needed a good pet store, so their arrival was a welcome relief. They’re very polite and helpful, and have a good selection of food, toys, supplies, etc. for cats and dogs. Prices are pretty good, they’ll special-​order, and they offer classes as well.
Plus they offer free delivery, and the nice young Israeli guy (s) will cheerfully carry up 2 20 bags of Feline Pine without even staying for a tip. If you’re in the Heights, check them out.
