A deli and supermarket PLUS10% off for NYU students– what could be better??? This is my go to when I’m in class and need something yummy. Their breakfast sandwhiches are GREAT, they have a full hot and cold bar, pre packed foods, beers, ice cream cartons, cereals and fruits and vegetables and so much more. If you need it, I’m sure they have it. If you’re gonna go to a deli in this area, its gotta be this one.

I’ve stopped by here a few times to pick up a drink or quick snack. I haven’t tried the deli or the hot foods, but it has a decent selection of packaged products. Yeah, the prices can be steep, but not any more than your average NYC deli. Unfortunately, I haven’t been an NYU student in a long time, so I can’t take advantage of the 10% discount. The people who work here are fine. I have read other reviews say that the guy who works nights at the cash register is rude. I don’t know if it is the same guy, but, while he is not the most social of people(mostly quiet and reserved), I’ve never seen the night cashier act rude to anyone, and certainly not to me.

Being an NYU student, I come here pretty often for coffee/tea or a really quick lunch. If you show your student ID, you can get a 10% discount on the hot food/soups. Although, I really think the discount should apply to everything else, considering everything is overpriced to exploit poor college students. There aren’t price labels on everything which I find pretty annoying. I hate when I pick up some random drink only to find out at the cashier that the hipster organic water costs 5 times more than a poland spring. The line moves fast, which is convenient. The hot food is usually a hit or miss. $ 5 Credit card minimum. Also very annoying. Overall, this place is very annoying. But when you have 15 minutes to get to across campus to another class and you really need some bougie Yerba Mate, then this is the place to go.

This place is vegetarian heaven! I love their cold food buffet! They order sushi rolls, salads, grilled mushrooms, grape leaves and so much more. They also have a hot food buffet but I do go to that section because they serve meat. If you are a NYU student, you get a 10% discount.

NYU students get 10% off. Bring cash if you don’t plan on spending more than $ 5! Great sandwiches in deli.

I have spent hundreds of dollars here a month. The deli counter employees are so incredibly and consistently cater to men. No longer going. Awful service. And manager does not care about customers either.

Perfect in place of doing a quick grocery run. You can find a lot of great things in the frozen aisle — especially veggies, vegan items, ice cream, etc. My boyfriend is a massive fan of their BECs — try adding a hashbrown patty on top and have the best morning ever.

Excellent in most things. I use them for delivery orders at all hours. Occasionally late at night the person answering the phone has minor problems with English but it’s never caused a problem. Excellent sandwiches, good soups and salads. If I stretch for a complaint, it’s that they cook eggs only during breakfast hours until 11:30 and they don’t have donuts. Ooooooh, the absence of donuts! :-(

I love Space Market. It’s a great, classic New York market with an overwhelming amount of options. I came here because of the numerous Instagram posts worshipping their bacon egg and cheese sandwiches, and was not disappointed. Cheap, good quality food. Not to mention, open 24 hours a day. And you can enjoy your food in the beautiful Washington Square Park. Added bonus for NYU students: 10% off with your student ID!

When I was a student at NYU, this was my go-to snack place. They have lots of choices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Coffee’s always hot, sushi’s always cold. Plus 10% off for NYU affiliates!

*** Standard Deli, Quick Service *** If you’re an NYU student, you get a 10% discount with your ID. Otherwise, this deli is standard and offers a lot of options(lunch items, assortment of drinks, breakfast items, fresh fruits, etc).

The deli guys are super nice, but the guy works at the register at night is the absolute WORST and RUDEST person I have ever met, and I’ve had some pretty bad customer service before. I’m pretty sure he like has a cactus up his butt or something. Told me that he «didn’t want to see my face» and for me to «get out» after I asked about an umbrella I may have left behind. Rose his voice and yelled at me and kept saying«get out» and«I DONTWANTTOYOUANYMORE». Guess what, you won’t. (Also the fruit sucks and is never fresh or good)

If you time it right and really have no time for lunch, this is an acceptable place to pick something up for a quick bite if you choose wisely and time it well. NYUID10% discount

Nice little deli/grocery catty-cornered to Washington Square Park. I recently discovered it as a grab-and-go lunch spot and have been very happy since. As someone who wants to eat a lot of food but also wants to be relatively healthy(lean meat, vegetables, unprocessed carbs), Space Market is the answer. It has a great self-serve food bar that offers choices ranging from sushi to traditional leafy salads to hearty meat n’ potatoes kinds of options. Just load up a container full of whatever you want: it’s all sold at $ 8/pound. Aside from the self-serve meals, the market features a deli counter and a well-appointed grocery section. Fresh, seasonal vegetables accompany a good selection of frozen and shelf-stable foods. It’s a bit pricey but not offensively so. Certainly a good option if you need to pick up some ingredients for a home-cooked meal. On this point, however, be forewarned: there is no butcher section… so all you carnivores will have to buy your grillable protein elsewhere.

What’s with all the hate, Unilocal?I think that Space Market is one of the better lunch options in the ‘hood– I come at 11:45AM before the lunch crowd, when the food is piping hot and fresh. Dirty confessions of a fake sushi snob: I regularly eat the sushi from the food buffet bar, and I have never gotten sick and almost always enjoy it.

I came here one time around 2 am because I was looking for a snack and it was the only place open. I bought overpriced cheese and crackers and went back to my apartment. When I took my first bite, I noticed that the cheese tasted funny. When I checked the expiration date, I saw that it was expired by over a month. Never buy from Space Market!!! Everything is extremely overpriced and they sell expired food. Absolutely appalling.

Ah, Space Market. This place is a favorite for NYU students and faculty. It gets BUSY at peak lunch hour and right around 5 but the line does move quickly. Pros: good salad/food bar for lunch, NYU discount, lots of produce and a surprising amount of groceries and specialty items. Cons: EXPENSIVE, can be busy, mostly just really pricey I have bought some groceries here since they have a great selection of Amy’s organic dishes, specialty pasta sauces, produce, and faux-«gourmet» food but it always adds up to waaaaay more than I want to spend. The lunch bar is even pretty pricey, although I don’t often eat out for lunch so maybe I’m biased. Buying some vegetarian sushi rolls(yum!) and rice for lunch can be up to $ 10. Not on board with that. They do have good pastries and desserts though and I like the deli counter as well. It’s around $ 6 – 7 per sandwich and they’re pretty large. Plus they have fresh mozzarella! So if you want a quick and easy lunch and you don’t mind overpaying a bit, give it a shot. Probably don’t plan to grocery shop here but it’s a nice place if you just need to pick up a jar of fancy pasta sauce on your way home and nothing else.
