yas yas YAS. Awesome sangys. Small, but high quality beer selection(on tap, growler fills, and cans/bottles). Trendy inviting space. Fun food items for your own kitchen. Overall: major win for the area and I’m JAZZED

Nice little place around nyu. Their bread is chewy and fresh. Get mother in law or macho man if you prefer hot sandwiches. Their breakfast sandwich is also nice. Good décor. Friendly staff. This definitely is one of my top choice around school.

This place is absolutely incredible! Great atmosphere, service, and all of the entrees are extremely fresh and unique. Highly recommend coming here. Definitely one of the best lunch spots in the area hands down!

Great experience here. I had the breakfast sandwich with bacon. I was offered water while I waited for my to-go sandwich, which was nice. The sandwich was great. Fresh bread, well cooked eggs and bacon. I’ll definitely be back.

Great selection of sandwiches and I really like the cozy atmosphere. A cute café to boot. Love it.

I was devastated when Court Street Grocers’ Gotham West Market branch closed(I had publicly grieved on facebook my favorite sandwich shop in Manhattan had closed, followed by several crying emoji faces) — thank goodness they opened a branch here in Greenwich Village! Time for this sandwich girl to celebrate. And I did so by getting their Italian Combo, for old time’s sake. They had brought back caputo’s seeded roll(because we all know 50% of the successful sammie is fantastic bread), which gives the cold cuts and pecorino the perfect textural crunch component. The arugula and red onion gives the sandwich a welcomed peppery kick, while the delectable CSG hoagie spread provides the«x factor» that sets out CSG’s Italian combo apart from every other Italian combo out there. The spread is a variation of the olive tapenade, so be warned if you do not enjoy olives. Although LaGuardia Place branch does not have the glorious beef shank sandwich, they have a lot more choices and variations, such as the Tuna 2.0 and Dirty Turkey. If you are vegetarian, I would recommend the yam & cheese. But truly, all sandwiches here are fantastic choices because they are true purveyors in delectable sammies. As with all sandwich shops, this CSG location closes by 5pm daily, so make sure you get your sandwich fix before then.

My favorite Sandwich Shop in the Manhattan! My boyfriend and I have been regulars ever since they opened. Their sandwiches are of very high quality and taste. Our favorites are The Italian and the Droopy, but everything I have eaten there has been excellent. I am so glad they found a home for their business in Greenwich Village.

Really great sandwiches and friendly service. I split both the Droopy and Italian with someone, which were both fantastic. The bread is also so good which is. I also saw that they have Taylor ham on the menu which I plan on getting next time I return for breakfast.

Great little hidden gem sandwich shop right behind NYU! The yam & cheese sandwich is famous for being colorful, flavorful, and very creative! Definitely worth trying. Have also tasted their meatloaf and tuna 2.0 which are also delicious. Nothing beats their fresh warm toasted bread loaves. Also cute dessert and chips to pick out in the store. Wish they had student discount :)

Wow. Wow wow wow. I thought it would be good, but I wasn’t prepared for how much better than good it would be! Everything about this place is amazing. The people that work here are so nice, great music, lovely ambiance. Every single item on the menu seems like it was carefully thought out and has some kind of special touch that makes you WANT it. The vegetarian sandwiches are especially welcome — most places don’t really have truly creative vegetarian dishes. The sandwiches are TODIEFOR. They also have all kinds of other sauces and small items for sale that are incredible and hard to find. I WANTEVERYTHING! I’m pretty hard on restaurants with my Unilocal reviews, but I am happy to say that I can’t recommend this place enough. Eat in. Get it to go. Call ahead and pick it up. But just do it immediately because you won’t regret it.

Sandwich Shop & Specialty Market combine to make a neighborhood breakfast & lunch stop with tables and counter service. Really the best feature is the very friendly staff who really care about their customers. Aside from the great sandwiches prepared freshly to order, there are some market specialty items that are hard to find elsewhere in the city. Things we’ve had to ship from other states are just sitting here on the pantry shelves: — Durkey’s Mayo/Mustard Sandwich Spread — Vernor’s, Michigan’s Favorite Gingerale — Cider Syrup from our favorite artisanal family operation in Vermont(Williswood) — Cheerwine My favorite feature is the classic deli offering of having seltzer water on tap served complimentary like regular water. Word is that a beer & wine license is on the way in the future.

This is the best thing that’s happened to our block in a long time. I’m a huge fan of court st grocers in Brooklyn and was thrilled to hear they were opening on laguardia. I usually opt for the Reuben or the Italian combo but this time chose the Droopy($ 10) a roast beef sandwich with horseradish mayo and fried onions instead. I asked them to hold the fried onions and when they mistakenly did not, the owner quickly made me another and refunded my money. While I insisted a refund was unnecessary, he smiled and had the cashier give me cash back. To me this speaks to the care and professionalism of the shop, and my sandwich was outstanding!!! Seating in front plus an old school style counter to watch sandwich prep. Speciality condiments and products available(much like the BK locations) with salad, veggie options, and a bomb egg sandwich too. Welcome to the neighborhood, CSG.

A great sandwich shop can convince you to eschew meat and to embrace it on the same menu. I’ve had mixed experiences at other Court St. Grocers locations**, but they won me over here. The $ 10.56 Yam and Cheese* fits into the former category, and can’t possibly get more excellent than it already was at their soft opening* on 11÷12÷15 around noon. Friendly staffers all around(including a conversation with the owner about a local business), excellent tunes overhead, a comfortable bright space with ample seating, and shelves(& fridge) all around stocked with esoteric, delicious grocery staples. Grab the door behind you to ensure it closes. No local discounts(yet). *roasted sweet potato, puréed pickled beets, herb salad, whipped goat’s-milk cheese, and sumac vinaigrette(a new addition) on a Caputo’s seeded club roll. Per the cashier, it’s not new nor exclusive, but I don’t remember it ** still doesn’t reflect new location(their 4th, but 3 currently remain after GWM closed)

This is the largest, nicest location yet of the awesome sandwich shop. Very glad to see it open to replace the recently closed Gotham West Market location so we can still get these sandwiches in Manhattan(the original location is in Carroll Gardens and the Hero Shop is in Red Hook). They have a variety of pastries, including an excellent Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookie($ 3) as well as all the awesome sandwiches from the original location. You can’t go wrong with the Reuben($ 11.50) and some of the new options, though they don’t sound like guaranteed winners, are actually incredible, like the Yam and Cheese($ 11). This one is seriously a must try. This is in a great location to reel in hungover NYU students for the great egg sandwiches. I’ll definitely be back soon to try more of the new sandwiches.
