I couldn’t wait to go to this store, as a fan of all things vintage and LA. I wanted to walk in and need help with my bags walking out. Sadly, I didn’t find anything special(should I say collector-worthy). I’ve had better vintage shopping experiences on the East Coast on Ebay(obvi). I did buy ONE Mugler blouse that was kinda cute.

I will admit, there were some nice things there, but the customer service was not even sub par, so why waste time. They were bland, They weren’t approachable, And they weren’t friendly. And this was while we scouted the location out to bring something there. We decided to call, send pics as requested… The guy answered the phone, gave the email and never responded back. If your looking for Great vintage labels, may I suggest you give«Second Chance» a try. Much better experience and nicer staff.

Resurrection Vintage is one of my favorite vintage shops in the world. The staff are friendly and helpful without hounding customers. They have a website that is updated often, where you can survey some of their wares before you visit. It’s definitely pricey but extremely well«curated” – you can find some pristine collector’s items here if that’s what you’re into. Some of the less rare items are not very accurately priced relative to their availability from other shops and ebay, but there are very few of these items in the store: it is evident that the staff are very knowledgeable about not only vintage history but also rarity and relative value. Basically, if you are an avid vintage collector with something specific in mind, you are paying a premium to remove the tiresome process of hunting something down on ebay(which might take months or years… especially if you are waiting for a specific rare item to materialize). If you are someone who simply prefers to discharge their personal styling and clothing-selection to other people, you will not go wrong with virtually any choice within Resurrection’s impeccably curated items. That said, since I’m not wealthy enough to spend as I like whenever I visit their store(given the other boutiques I like to shop at too), I prefer going during their 40% off sales the most, so that I may have the option of picking up more items for my money along the way.

It is not okay under any circumstances to charge nearly $ 500 for a Bob Dylan shirt… or $ 300 for a Misfits shirt. If you love Alaia bandage dresses and Zandra Rhodes maxi gowns and have $ 1100 burning a hole in your pocket, go for it. I love everything in here, but I’ve seen similar items at other stores in the city for much less.

I have a theory about businesses with buzzers required for entry and that theory screams, «LAME!!!» I am an avid lover of vintage stuff, believe me, my whole closet is full of timeless scores, but this place isn’t full of those scores. It’s full of over-priced crap and just because it’s old, doesn’t make it vintage. It’s always been my belief that«vintage» suggests cool stuff, not bizarro crap that no one wants. And, okay, maybe some people do want this stuff, but they are no one I would hang out with. Well, unless I suddenly started dating a size 2 person who needed cream colored fringed leather pants and a big coat that looks like it was made from a hotel comforter in order to make them happy, but if I did that, please feel free to commit me. Vintage. Sure, buddy.
