Rafik Shoe Repair

This is a long overdue review since I’ve been a customer of this store for 7+ years. I’ve brought all types of shoes (heels, boots, wedges) and watches for repairs and have always been happy with the service. Today, the repair guy (Rafik?) gave my fave over the knees boots new heels. He did it in an hour! Definitely bring your shoes here for repair. Top notch service.

I brought my new Manolo Blahnik shoes here for adding soles. The shoes’s fabric is vulnerable, but the guy did an excellent job that he put the sole on very nicely without touching the fabric at all. I will definitely bring my other shoes here and recommend this place to my friends. The total cost is $ 40.

I have been going here many times over 2 years. He has been handling shoes, watches and briefcases for me.

I twisted my ankle and then realized I needed the heels replaced on my boots. Rafik’s was close, and had decent reviews, so I gave it a shot. The guy was really nice and did the repair in just a few minutes, while I waited. What a great experience.

Great place! I took my pair of designer riding boots to him and he cleaned them up, fixed scuff marks and polished. He also replaced the heels of my boots which were worn down a bit. He charged me $ 35 for it all, which wasn’t too bad. I would definitely recommend using him.

Stopped in for a battery change on my watch, he also cleaned the watch and tried to make a nick on the glass less visible — he wasn’t able to because the glass was scratched. He told me he could replace the glass if I wanted, giving me price estimates for different quality as it compares to that of the original watch — was not pushy at all, just offered and was totally OK when I turned him down for now.

Very fast service and really nice guy who does the work. My only complaint was that I read on here that a guy with a really expensive watch got his battery changed for less than my nice, fairly expensive watch and it was only about a month apart. Not happy about that, but whatever.
I’m planning on taking some shoes and a purse to get refurbed here when I get a chance!

This is my 2^nd time to Rafik Shoe Repair for a watch repair and this is good as it gets. Definitely will be my go to place for watch repair for now on. Friendly, professional, quick and and great prices for repairs and time spent. With same day quality service like this, can’t be beat. Came in today for repair of my favorite Nixon watch about 5yrs old that I was about to send back to the manufacturer to repair at a cost of minimum $ 90. Rafik was able to examine, repair, replace the battery in about 15−20min top, all for a cost of $ 20 cash. And a 2yr warranty on the battery on top of that. With friendliness, service, efficiency, speed and prices like this why go anywhere else. I see some Unilocalers, complaining bout price, I don’t get it? Guy’s got to make a living and if you can find this quality, professionalism and speed somewhere else from all types of watches from low-​end to high-​end at this reasonable price, have it. For me, Rafik’s got my business as long as i’m living in the city and will definitely recommend to friends.

They did it within an hour and were friendly but man, I feel ripped off.

I just dropped in to replace a watch battery. I waited while he did it, because I’ve had issues with this watch before (apparently Fossil watches can be tricky to repair?) and I wanted to make sure he could actually replace the battery. I didn’t need to worry– I waited all of 90 seconds (maybe less), paid $ 12, got my watch back. No scratches on the back casing, guy was very friendly for the 2 minutes I was in his shop. Overall: A+.

Rafik’ shoe repair put black rubber soles on my Jimmy Choo’s with beige leather soles!!! Unbelievable. There’s no way to fix that. To clarify, Rafik’s never asked me to confirm the rubber sole type or color that would be used. I naively thought that any good shoe repair shop would use a rubber sole that matched the shoe, but I was wrong.

Rafik is the best. The work is ALWAYS good. He is a great, trustworthy guy. I bring him my new shoes, my old shoes and they always come back great.

Came here Saturday at noon and brought in a pair of leather boots that had scuff marks and discoloration all throughout. Rafik’s (son?) said I can pick it up the same day around 3−4pm and it would be $ 10 to shine the boot (remove discoloration) and $ 12 for the heel. He gave me a ticket with the amount due. When I got my boots back, I saw that they were back to their original color and even though I could see some cover up on some parts, it looked very good overall. I was very happy with my experience — fast, same day service; friendly people; good handiwork; decent prices.

I have taken several pairs of shoes to Rafik Shoe Repair from minor scrapes to boots needing to be completely re-​souled. They were fast (24 hours) each time, repaired the pieces impeccably and by far the best priced in the area. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs to have anything done from a repair to a shine.

Super fast service. Told Joe I was running to the grocery store & he replaced my heel tips by the time I got back. ($ 10).
Joe also noted my shoes need tips on the front (whatever that’s called), that was an extra $ 6. Plus he shined my shoes.
Done in under 30 minutes & I was able to wear my shoes Monday morning.

Pros: fast
Cons:
replaced flat heels with tapered heels — why? It’s subtle but doesn’t look as good.
used two different replacement heels on identical (except for color) shoes — they work the same, but it’s weird.
polished shoes even though I asked him not to — I said like three times «don’t polish my shoes, I really don’t want you to» and he ignored me, and he screwed it up (see below).
used clear polish on shell cordovan shoes — this is a big no no.
used clear polish on scuffed shoes — the scuffs are really shiny now too! What’s the point of that? they needed colored polish.
TLDR — sort of makes a mess of things.

I stumbled into Rafik’s shore repair after going to several other shops for what I thought was a simple shoe repair. Those other shops wanted to charge me anywhere from 85 to 125 dollars. He did it for me for 55 dollars and it was PERFECTION.
I have been to him and only him ever since. I have even started bringing a friends shoes there and he has made them look like new.
What I do find amusing about him is if he asks what time you want them ready and you say 2pm and you show up at 4 or later, he will ask why you weren’t there at 2!
He is great!

Broke my sandal while walking… I needed it fixed, and FAST.
Looked up shoe repair, and this place came highly recommended.
The man behind the counter, which I presume to be the owner, was very friendly, and he fixed my sandal on the spot while I waited.
I was impressed, so brought in a pair of shoes get new soles a few days later. He remembered me and asked how the sandals were. Shoes were ready the next morning, and, again, excellent work.

The owners of this place are super nice and accommodating (and fast).
They charge a reasonable price and are great at re-​soling and shining. Wouldn’t take my designer shoes there (hello, Leather Spa!) but they do a great job on a boot and heel replacement from my experience.

What the… I love these guys. They care about the work they do. They are super friendly and always take time to answer my questions. If they charge a bit more it’s because they take the time to do a good job. If you have decent shoes then it js definitely worth bringing them here.
Also they replace watch batteries. I’m sure that won’t blow anyone’s mind but it’s always a pain when you need to get a battery replaced and can’t find anyone to do it.
