I was happy to see this new smaller Radio Shack open up instead of going away altogether but their life on 86th Street was short lived. The franchise catered to things that people would find much cheaper elsewhere and the staff that was hired were half helpful and half not so much. Gone are the days of needing small radio and computer parts which was how this place came to such prominence. The end of an era, goodbye Radio Shack hello eventual cell phone store or coffee house. This shop has been closed since Summer 2015 but I wanted to add my thoughts.

Went from being an all new Radioshack to bankrupt in little over a year. This store has been out of business for over a month now.

Radio Shacks can be annoying; and the shopping experiences there very generic, controlled, homogenized. But this store came through for me, a couple of the staffers there really ‘hustled’ and showed energy and effort. They were ambitious and performance-​oriented. Gotta hand it to ‘em.
