Pretty decent phở! Large portions and great w the fixings & sauces. One of the few that deliver to me, so definitely will order again.

This review is for the service, not the food. I like the Saigon chicken but not when it takes 1h30min to get it. I ordered through Seamless and the restaurant is 10 blocks from our office so the estimated delivery time was 30min. One hour later, still nothing. I called the restaurant and I was told it would be 15 more minutes. I called 30 minutes later only to get the same response. There still was no adjusted delivery time text as is usual with Seamless. In total, it took 2 hours min to receive the food. There doesn’t seem to be transparency or communication between the restaurant manager and delivery persons and they refused a refund.

I came in late one evening in early September and ordered the beef phở. The server was polite friendly along with the rest of the crew that walked by my table. It came to me in a big steaming bowl of broth. It was delicious! I quickly added all my fixings including the extra jalapeños and as I stirred, I inhaled the aromatic scent of the best bowl of phở I’ve had in a long time!!! I slurped and sipped and munched away at this seemingly never ending bowl and when my spoon hit the bottom of it, I was so sad. I can’t wait to come back for more!

My waiter insisted, twice, that an insipid clear-broth phở was satay peanut noodle soup, which had a spicy pepper symbol next to its name on the menu. Finally, when I’d already eaten half of it(I was hungry), he offered to replace it. I live in the neighborhood so I’m disappointed but I’m never going there again.

Actually 3−½ but the stars cannot get only half a point. The ambience was fine. I liked the Pork chops but I like the vinegar sauce from other Vietnamese restaurants. This has less flavor. Maybe because they think they are in midtown and have to temper the spices. I like it with a stronger flavor. They serve promptly. I saw a few people pickup or stop by to order and then pickup while I was eating. The string beans(this was really green beans — string beans are more fibrous, thinner and longer) in curry and coconut milk was good. At least I know know there is a Vietnamese restaurant in Sutton Place area. This place is very reasonably priced and convenient for the neighborhood.

On a gloomy day, rice sounded good. Phở Saigon’s been on the list for lunch delivery spots — I should’ve gotten Phở but I ordered L22. Lunch Com Ga Xao Rau Cai(Chicken Stir Fried with Vegetables on Rice Lunch). Oh man. the box was hefty — then I realized. it was 80% rice. The picture doesn’t speak 1000 words here. There’s just a thin layer of chicken and veggies and enough rice to feed me for a week. The chicken itself was fine. The sauce? Not so much. not sure what the heck it was — just some brown sauce that seemed to have some duck sauce flavor to it, but mostly bland. I won’t cross it completely off my list as I hear great things about their phở, and it wouldn’t be fair to judge a restaurant specializing in phở based on their non-phở dishes. A very small soup with bits of chicken and carrots came with my meal — haven’t and probably won’t try it, but appreciated. I asked for hot sauce — I got a good amount of fish sauce. not sure what I was supposed to do with that. Thank goodness I had sriracha in my fridge. The lunch price follows the norm in midtown Manhattan but I certainly would’ve been happier with some Chinese lunch special on this windy, humid, rainy, and overall disgusting and depressing day.

Not amazing but good enough. I am not a true expert when it comes to Vietnamese food but this relatively new place on the UES kind of hits the spot. The restaurant has a great lunch special, where most of the dishes are around 8 bucks. I find that the Beef Phở(the typical dish that I order) sometimes is a little bland and I often have to ask for extra spices to add some«heat» to it. However, the curry phở with shrimp is leaps and bounds better than the traditional phở. The service good most times. But, it would be beneficial if one of the waiters would use a notepad because he always forgets your order. This is understandable if it were a table of 8 but I’m usually here with one other person.

(Delivery review only) Ok. It’s 1:15PM and like many others, you are one of peon workers working in midtown. Until Phở Saigon came into the picture, you had two choices if you were craving phở(1) Fugetaboutit or(2) take a 4÷5÷6 train down to Canal to see if you have a better luck there… But then what if you are like thousands of other peons who don’t get a lunch break and have to eat at your desk? Enter Phở Saigon. With a seamless rating of 3* and a similar Unilocal rating — you may think«Oh perhaps I shouldn’t order from such place and just spend my afternoon in depression for not getting my daily doses of MSG*.(*I do not know whether the restaurant uses MSG or not, but I have a MSG shaker in my desk drawer…). Look no further — for Phở Saigon shall come to your rescue. Reasonable delivery time unless it’s dark and stormy(not the alcoholic drink I love, but an actual weather condition) outside, budget roughly 45−1hr for the delivery. Sub $ 10 — which is very attractive in this ever increasing category called«Price of Midtown Lunches»… well including tip & tax, you do get the $ 13 range, but still. I usually order Phở Lunch menu $ 9& Grilled Pork Chop Lunch menu($ 8.50) — which I save for the next day. Taste — is this the absolutely best place when it comes to Vietnamese food? No. Would it go into top 10%? I don’t think so. But when I find an oasis(Phở Saigon) in the middle of desert(Midtown), I will gladly drink the whatever water I get. You won’t see me looking for«where’s my sparkling water!?»

OK Vietnamese restaurant that is filling and reasonable in price. I wanted something spicy so I had the bun bo hue, which came in a huge bowl and was just spicy enough to please, but not spicy enough to kill and burn. Meh.

For the area, this place gets 5 stars. Obviously better Vietnamese food exists in the world – but as far as I’m concerned, in midtown east, this is as good as it gets. I’ve tried many items on the menu and my fav is the grilled pork chops. The portion is huge and it’s delicious. Phở is good – buns are good as well. The staff is great/attentive and they are always accommodating my difficult orders. I haven’t tried delivery yet – but it’s never super crowded. I’m glad I have options now for Vietnamese in the area… makes a huge difference!

I get huge rice noodle soup cravings every so often and I hate the trek to get a good bowl. Then Phở Saigon opened and saved me from having to get on the icky subway to get good Viet food. I love the weird peanut sauce and shrimp cracker freebie appetizer. It brings back memories of snacking on them at holiday dinners. I usually save a few so I could dip them in the fish sauce that comes with the fried to order cha gio. Typically they only serve the cha gio with two pieces of romaine, but I almost always forgo the lettuce and just pair it with the other herbs. My absolute favorite here is the bun bo hue. Typically in the outer boroughs, the meat isn’t tender enough, or the flavors are muddled, but that’s not the case here. The soup is delicious with the right amount of heat, the noodles are perfectly springy, and the hunks of beef and pork are cooked to perfection. I just wish they served pig’s feet with it. The phở soup is spot on too, but the meat in the beef version is typically just flank and brisket with beef balls. There is a bit of omosa(tripe) but doesn’t come in a big glob. I guess what I really miss that’s not in the beef phở is the tendon. The grilled lemongrass pork chops(suon heo nuong) is a good sized portion, with nice flavors but I prefer the grilled marinated chicken. The smokiness from the grill goes very well with the sweet tangy marinade. I’d love to venture through their whole menu but I can’t get myself away from that bun bo hue.

I’ve never been to this location but I often order the lunch special with my coworkers. Delivery is fast and reliable. I order the traditional noodle soup and it is delicious. The broth is clean but savory which is important because it does lead me to believe it might be healthier and more natural. The ingredients come separately from the soup which is nice because not only are you getting more for your money, but you can also make it as spicy as you want or as many noodles as you want. It also prevents everything from becoming too soggy. I would definitely recommend this place. Everytime I order it with someone, they love it! They even start to crave it!

Phở Saigon is a much welcomed addition to the neighborhood, but it still needs to work out a few kinks if they want to survive. I came here last Wednesday evening with my brother and his girlfriend. It wasn’t too busy, so we were able to be seated right away with still plenty of open tables. The restaurant tries to come across as an Asian fusion restaurant with bright, orange walls and faux bamboo awnings. When you are seated, they serve you shrimp crackers with a sweet tangy sauce similar to a French dressing. The menu is pretty extensive. In addition to phở, they have vermicelli, clay pot, noodles, rice, and a variety of protein options(chicken, seafood, duck, pork, beef). The prices are a bit steep, but for midtown east, it may be considered reasonable. What we ordered: — 91. Phở Saigon: brisket, beef eye round, omosa, beef ball, served with bean sprout, lime and basil — 76. Heo Kho To(pork belly clay pot): caramelized pork belly, quail egg, and vegetables noodles in a clay pot — 110. Bun Saigon: grilled shrimp, grilled pork and spring roll on vermicelli, served with lettuce, scallion, mint, pickle, roasted peanuts and nuoc cham sauce(fish sauce) Strike #1: As soon as they placed the huge bowl of phở down, my brother’s girlfriend noticed a long piece of hair stuck to the side of the bowl. It definitely wasn’t hers because she didn’t even touch or hover over the bowl. Strike #2: The menu clearly states vegetable noodles as one of the components of the clay pot. What is in the little clay«pot»(that more resembled a bowl)? Only the pork belly and quail egg. No noodles or anything on the side. My brother asks our waiter if it was supposed to have the noodles or if there was more to the dish, but the waiter at first was adamant that it didn’t. After double checking the menu, he took it back to the kitchen and added it. (Kind of) Strike #3: My vermicelli was actually pretty decent sized portion. I should’ve asked for no cilantro though(meh). It was a nice spread with the shrimp, pork, AND spring rolls. The pork was very flavorful, and there plenty of it. There were two pieces of shrimp, and it wasn’t abominable nor impressive. The spring rolls though were so oily that it seemed like it had been fried and then refried. The contents of the spring rolls also had no flavor, so I asked for a bit more of the fish sauce to add. I think Phở Saigon has the potential to be good, but it’s still pretty new and therefore not completely glitch-free. Hopefully, they iron out all the careless mistakes and will eventually be here to stay.

I was craving phở and since i had a doctors appointment near the area, we decided to try this place. The atmosphere is nice, almost feels like you are outside, pretty cozy and calm. We ordered spring rolls and the 91, Saigon phở. disappointed on both dishes. The spring roll felt as if it was fried few times and the inside meat was very rough and dense. We had one of each spring rolls and did not touch the rest(comes 4 rolls). The phở had a generous portion, very big but the broth was bland and did not have enough flavor. The meat was tough and did not taste too good as well. I dont want to be biased but i realized the owners were not vietnamese. They were Chinese and maybe that’s why it did not taste as authentic and full of flavor? Service was fast and servers were friendly. But I will not be going back again. The

I was so excited to have a phở place in the neighborhood — could have easily become a weekend regular. However disappointed in the completely flavorless broth. Normally I add a bit of all the fixings to taste, but just to make the phở enjoyable I had to add a lot of hoisin and hot sauce. Will give it one more shot, but really lackluster phở.

Excellent food and Service! We especially like the fresh rolls and shrimp on sugar cane starters. The Shrimp dishes are nicely portioned and high quality. Vegetables are cooked correctly and are very tasty not over salty. Pork Chop special is amazing!!! ** Update over the course of the past year the owners seem to have lost interest in quality and have cut down the food cost by serving small frozen shrimp! the food is now totally uninspired and not worth eating

There is literally no phở place in the area and i was soooo happy when they finally opened one, bc as an asian, i eat phở: — when i’m sick — when i’m cold — when i’m dieting — when i’m craving warm soup — when i’m hungry in general The phở here is actually soooo good(noodles slightly undercooked the way i like it, and soup is cinnamony, fragrant, and savory), and the even better part is, the food here other than phở is good as well!!! I just got back from visiting Vietnam and was on a Phở Ga eating binge, and this place opened right in time for me! woohoooo~

They’re new and likely to improve. Three of us had dinner on a weekday and it was a disaster. It was packed with customers. The service was terrible. At least they weren’t mean or rude. There were lots of servers but each was running around. It took 10 mins to ask for water. It took about 20 mins to order. It took 10 – 15 mins after we finished to ask for the check, then another 10 mins to get the check. We had to physically stop someone each time. Several times the server would acknowledge us but keep walking. I’m pretty sure the cook took matters into his own hands and delivered one of our dishes. The food was good. Not amazing or noteworthy but good.
