This place is the cutest, most delicious Vietnamese restaurant I’ve ever been to! Highly recommend salt and pepper shrimp and banh mi sandwich! Can’t wait to try more

Came here on a Friday evening for an early dinner. Came into a practically empty restaurant. Seated immediately and we had the whole staff serving us. Drinks are very good. Both the housemade ginger soda and taro bubble tea were delicious. Left us both wanting seconds. Though I’m not a fan of Viet food they had a plethora of selections that should appeal to most. You’re bound to find something that you like. She got the chicken phở with oxtail broth. She was in euphoria after eating that. And I loved my Bön Mi Gha(Viet sandwich with chicken). The only criticism was the shredded chicken was somewhat dry and took away from the overall excellence of the meal. Definitely found my go to Viet place.

I was so looking forward to Cyclo being great rather that mediocre but it was not meant to be on this visit. Perhaps the tone was set by the clueless waitress who was far more concerned with who of the staff would serve our table. This is an internal conversation about tips and should not be for public consumption. By way of background: the GF and I swung by Cyclo on a cold evening upon my return from Vegas. While it is true that I was cranky and hungry, I was an almost perfect gentleman. We were seated in typical wait staff fashion; jammed in with whatever other diners braved the cold. The GF was cold. So she told the waitress we needed to move because of a draft emanating from the unsealed cinderblock walls and crappy windows. So we moved. But before I could order a bespeckled waitress scolded me about next time we should tell her if we wanted to move two tables overs. There were about four tables in total while we were there. I suppose us plumpy white folks look the same to her… Incidentally, service greatly improved after our little run-in. We ordered the duck roll, spring rolls and a couple of beef phos in oxtail broth. The duck rolls were dry and flavorless and the spring rolls were oily. very crispy but flavorless too. The phở lacked umph but the beef tasted of higher quality than what one would find in a typical Vietnamese joint. Other reviewers suggested that Cyclo is owned by the same folks that own Tuk Tuk, a longstanding Thai staple in Long Island City. If this is the case then there’s hope for Cyclo because I’m certain that they will improve. My suggestion, start with the staff and the duck rolls.

Had the most amazing lunch at Cyclo this week. The shrimp summer rolls with the mystery sauce were tasty. Ordered the shrimp vermicelli salad which was plate-licking good. I can’t wait to come back and try the rest of the menu. What a hidden gem in Long Island City.

This is the third time … the first time wasn’t very good, the second time we just left the table The reason: the service was very rude. Specially the lady with short hair and glasses… we decided to give it a third chance and the service wasn’t perfect but was better than before. Besides that, the food is very good! We“ll be back.

Very happy they are in LIC. Favorite menu items: Phở beef noodle soup, vermicelli noodle salad w/shrimp, grilled marinated pork chop w/pineapple over rice, yu-choy. Service is wonderful, very friendly. Reasonable prices. And for some reason they always have the most adorable decorations.

Bottom Line: If live in the area or visiting LIC, it’s not a bad place to grab a quick bite. The food here is good but it’s not blow me away good. It’s affordable and can make a good date spot(you might come off as being adventurous). The same people who own Cyclo also own Tuk Tuk, a Thai restaurant also located in LIC. Suggestions: Any of the Bahn Mi Sandwiches Beef Oxtail Phở.

Good food but the customer service is beyond horrendous and frankly disgusting. Then women who mans the phone needs to take a lesson on customer satisfaction. I was told after calling after an hour of waiting and then after 1.5 hours of waiting for my food and starving that«I already told you that you are far and we are busy tonight» Well, lady I actually live 15 – 20 min walk so I don’t know what you are talking about. And then she had the nerve to say«then you should have just come to pick it up». And that I should just wait for it to be delivered. AREYOUKIDDINGME? I am never ordering or eating here again.

I came here because I didn’t want to trek super far to get some delicious phở on a nice cool breezy day. The selection for phở was small compare to regular phở shops but made it easier to pick one. I got the beef phở with bone broth and summer rolls. The beef phở’s soup was very good and totally worth the cost. You don’t get your usual selection of weird beef meats but it makes up in the broth. Summer rolls had nice fat yummy shrimps in them. It didn’t even need any sauce because it had so much flavor. But the peanut sauce was still delicious for dipping! Next time, I think I’m going for the spring rolls and maybe one of the rice dishes. I took sneak peaks at other people’s tables who had them and it all looked very good.

This place is phenomenal, sometimes I find myself craving their Taro bubble tea — its delicious. On my last visit, we had some great appetizers. Pork dumplings, egg rolls, and spinach filled fried dumplings. All were very good. We also had some great entrées, the pork Banh Mi is one of my favorites. The roast duck was also very good, a little rubbery on the chew, but taste great. The sauce to compliment the duck was nice, great texture. Hope to come back soon, would like to try their other Banh Mi’s, and some more Taro tea of course ;-)

Came here with friends a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. I had the Yellow Curry with Chicken and it was very tasty. The restaurant was a bit small(yes I know its NYC) but just be prepared if you come with a larger group. Everyone in my party enjoyed their food and they have an excellent beverage selection as well.

This is officially my favorite Vietnamese/phở spot. The staff here is very friendly and the space is nice and intimate. I’ve ordered a lot from their menu, but I’ll just list some highlights. For appetizers, their summer roll with shrimp is super fresh and has a balance between the shrimp and the veggie/noodle filling. Love their peanut sauce that comes with this dish! Their spicy lemongrass chicken wings are also great. Sweet and definitely hot, but the little cabbage salad that comes underneath is handy when your mouth starts to feel the heat. I’ve also ordered their Vietnamese pork spring rolls which were a little doughy and oily in my opinion, but I guess that’s what you should expect when it is fried! For main dishes I love their phở beef. I saw a couple of people noted the broth tastes«different». It is slightly sweeter than usual, but I still love it and the addition of hoisin or sriracha sauce can balance it out. There is always tons of beef so you get your money’s worth! Their«Bo Luc Lac» dish is amazing! The beef cubes are super juicy, tender and flavorful and comes with a side of rice to soak up some of the delicious sauce. I’m a picky eater, so they’ll modify dishes to exclude certain ingredients without being annoyed. You can also expect to see the same staff there, which is nice because they start to recognize you(at least I think so…). I’ll stop writing here, because I could go on forever about how much I love this place.

I have been to cyclo quite a few times and have never been disappointed. Even their takeout is great! Everything is fresh, flavorful and consistent. We love the shrimp fritters to start and usually get the phở and a sandwich as entrees. A great spot in the neighborhood!

Date night. Nice, causal, local spot in LIC. Family run and owned. Ordered the salmon entrée, nice presentation, I was enjoying it until i found the center to be too raw for my liking. He had the steak tips which I liked, a lot! Bottle of wine, Malbec, not the best bottle but it worked. Skipped dessert as the night is young. I would come back. Small, intimate space. Good for locals, singles, date night. Small but adorned with personal accents.

Nice ambiance, nice service and cheap prices. However though we both only ordered one item — the claypot chicken– have to say have had much better. Rice wasn’t the crispy type at the bottom as hoped. Chicken was darker meat and had a strange taste… sauce was rather sickening tasting. On bright side, the Viet. coffee was good!

Thank goodness there’s a place like this in LIC. Cyclo is a no frills kind of restaurant that does vietnamese as best as it can. It’s not a fancy restaurant, but it’s got nice décor. Service is friendly and quick and I’ve never had to wait for a seat. Their phở is fine, though it’s nothing to write home about. My favorite dishes there are the spring rolls and any of the noodle salads. The shrimp noodle salad is my absolute favorite. They also do great takeout business and will separate the noodles and the soup so that you don’t end up with an oversaturated noodle-y mess.

I was really impressed with Cyclo & would recommend it to everyone. It is a real local gem! The food is very reasonably priced & very tasty. I would recommend the Yellow curry chicken, sometimes places can be a bit tight with the meat, but there was so much chicken, the curry was like a never ending bowl! My husband had the clay pot curried tilapia and I was so jealous, it looked so good and he said it was delicious. We did order a couple of appetizers to share, which I enjoyed but my husband wasn’t a fan. But I can’t speak highly enough of the main dishes & Cyclo will be my new go to place!

I had high hopes for this place but they didn’t pan out. A cold wintry night made me crave phở and I arrived hoping for a delicious bowl of phở. Instead I was greeted by a gigantic bowl of flavorless soup filled with decent rice noodles. The service was happy and graceful for customers but they really need to fix the food problem first.
