Open all the time. 24 hours a day. This place was open when all the others are closed. It is clean, well lighted and stocked. The cashier was very helpful and friendly.

NAMU — I’M ONTOYOU! It’s very close to me but I will do all in my power to avoid it. It’s a given you’re going to pay double or triple for anything — the cost of convenience, I guess. I’d rather go without. Also, so many items have no price on them which is kind of ironic for a «convenience» store — or is it deliberate? Once you get to the counter and receive the sticker shock, you just go ahead and buy it anyway? No thanks. Also the few times I have gone, the cashiers have a lovely habit of rounding UP. If it comes to 3.98, I get 1 dollar back. Happened more than once and yea, it’s only 2 pennies but that’s my choice not yours. No no, Namu. (UPDATEMARCH2015) Shame on me — I went in again during a blizzard. Grabbed a container of nuts and a package of crackers marked 2.99(most things dont have prices on them). When I got to the register he rang the crackers up as 3.49. I questioned it and he said«That’s the price. You need it?» I told him i didn’t if 2.99 was not the price and so he just shrugged. Then I just paid for the other item. 3.99 — I have him a 5 and he gave me back a dollar with no penny. I am truly an idiot.

This area has a string of deli’s that offers prepared and packaged food that is not fresh. Cut mangoes purchased a couple days ago had a very sharp acidic taste like they were on their way to mango wine. Like their similar management down the street(Green Gourmet Market), they also don’t have«packed on» or «sell by» dates on what I bought and they didn’t provide receipts the two times I was there(you have to specifically ask for a receipt… shady). Unfortunately, even places like Food Emporium are often not much better with their cut fruit. I guess profits over quality food and customer’s health is winning out just about everywhere. Hopefully, more people can include their experiences on Unilocal and expose these types of situations.

Love the deli & grocery combination. I come by here during my work week for breakfast and lunch almost all the time. Owner and staff are welcoming and I can easily get fresh fruits and snacks here to satisfy my 3:00 pm hunger. I don’t normally like to spend too much on food when I don’t pack food but their breakfast and lunch options are great! Bacon, egg, and cheese and a coffee for 4 bucks can’t be beat especially in NYC. Great food at a more than reasonable price, keep it up Namu!

I love Namu! They’re my favorite local deli/grocery joint. The staff is very friendly, and they always make sure to wrap the flowers with the utmost care. I often pick up some carnations for my apartment. They also give you plant food so that they last longer! They stock my non-GMO favorite popcorn, and they have decent prices on produce(love the avocados!). There is an abundance of healthy snacks to choose from, and they’re a great place to stock up on cheese, dip, crackers, chips, etc – anything you need for when you’re having company! Lastly, they have a great loyalty deal every so often – every time you spend $ 20, they’ll give you a coupon for $ 1 off your next trip. This comes and goes, so make sure to ask if the deal is going on when you make your purchase.
