Came here for date night with my SO on a Saturday night for the very first time. We really enjoyed the Mac and cheese that was served in a cast iron dish. The complementary onion loaf and butter was addicting!!! They even gave us a fresh one to take home with our leftovers. We ordered the skirt steak salad which was very bland and lacked flavor. Tenderloin Tacos which were ok. The filet mignon was perfectly cooked(medium). The side of asparagus was just amazing! Loved the romantic ambiance. They had live music which just set such a chilled out vibe to a nice night out on the town. I would def recommend this place to anyone looking to have a good time with good food. Overall the service was impeccable.

Our new favorite place to eat in Manhattan. Great steaks, burgers, salmon. Best power hour and brunch in town.

I attended a lovely baby shower in their back private room. While Morton’s may not come to mind for a baby shower, I have to say it turned out so lovely. They allowed the hosts to make the space their own and bring in some festive décor. From the moment I arrived the staff made me feel at home. They took my coat and offered me a drink. Service was seamless for the entire event. There was no rush or pressure to be out by a certain time. I had the tomato bisque to start and it was so good. For my entrée I enjoyed the salmon. Their berries and whipped cream were great for dessert. It was great being able to take our time and enjoy the afternoon. We were there for over four hours. If you are looking for a private event space in this part of town, definitely consider Morton’s.

–Happy Hour Review– HH Times: Monday — Friday * 3pm — 6:30pm &9pm — Close Sunday * 3pm — Close Highlights: –Late night Happy Hour –Huge portion sizes all under $ 10 –Handsome ambiance for a date or drinks with co-workers –Perfect for meat lovers Morton’s Grille has one of the best happy hours around, especially when you consider the quality of meat and hearty portion sizes. Meaty Bacon Fat Braised Ribs for $ 9?! Mini Crab Cake BLTs and Steak Tacos for $ 8?! A massive serving of Parmesan Truffle Matchstick Fries for $ 7?! You’ll find it all on the spectacular Power Hour menu(see it here: ) My favorite item on the menu is the the Filet Mignon Trio, that comes topped with a hollandaise, peppercorn béarnaise and blue cheese butter sauce. I could eat one of these, sip on a drink and be due for a good nap. My other picks include the truffle fries, the Buffalo Chicken Meatballs and the Prime Cheeseburgers. The Spicy Buffalo Mussels and Iceberg Wedge Bites are just okay. The drinks available during the happy hour are also very flavorful and have a fair amount of kick. I haven’t had the best experience with the mojito, but the Palm Beacher, Cosmopolitan and various white wines are good. I’ve had mixed experience with service here. On my most recent visit the waitress was beyond friendly and accommodating. In other instances the bar tenders have appeared stoic, fake and ready for their shift end. The gentleman who I am guessing is the manager has always been welcoming and observant. One strange thing: One time I sat at the bar and had to pay in advance. Really? At first I thought that perhaps I was being profiled, but the pair next to me also paid and got their cheque long before they were done eating. I think this is a very unusual set up, especially because this is a mid-upscale restaurant and a lot of people order full meals at the bar(when I was there, my friend had one of the steaks and we shared a number of appetizers and sides). The waitress had to redo the cheque a second time as we ordered more drinks. I should not get my cheque until I am almost done eating. A reasonable exclusion to this rule would be if we’re accommodating a waiter whose shift is ending. Otherwise, please give me the bill when I’m done. Grazie!

Come here ALLTHETIME. I work next door. And now they are asking people for credit cards before they eat at bar? Is this high end or a dumpy bar? BADBADMOVE! My feeling in this place just went way down! Can’t wait for Union Sq Café to open doors across st(wonder if they will ask for card before eating??) hoping for nice bar there… Actually was at Mortons on 5th ave last week that didn’t happen I guess Gramercy isn’t as upscale?

In my opinion, the ambiance is what makes Morton’s Grille. Sleek layout, romantic and the live music is amazing. Excellent service — both at the bar and sit down. My date and I shared the Cajun steak, which is deviation from my normal«go to» filet mignon. I would say it was good but not great. Ordered medium rare but was more medium to well done. Overall, had a great time — relaxing and comfortable vibe. Great drink and dessert selection as well. I recommend. I will probably go for the filet next time though.

Came back here to give this restaurant another chance. Made a reservation, hostess was friendly. Was somewhat disappointed in the food again on this visit. The first thing that kind of ruined our appetite was after we ordered, i saw a server putting a few bread in the oven with his bare hands even though he had tongs on his other hand. Anyway, we had their crabcake appetizer. My wife had the land and sea while i had the double stacked ravenous burger. The crabcake was ok. Nothing spectacular, comparable to the crabcake available at ruby tuesdays but of course ruby tuesday’s is cheaper. The land and sea came with a few big pieces of scallops on and some short ribs. Was a little surprised the scallop was so big because usually restaurants give the smaller type. The scallop was pretty good. The short rib was flavorful and tasted good initially but as you ate more, it tasted more and more salty. The burger was ok, not too unique. Kind of like a diner quality burger but slightly on salty side also. Overall, the food was a little better but still kind of disappointed. Stephen our server was good. Kept our waters filled and updated us when the bread, appetizer, and entrée are coming out.

Food is decent but the girl singing is what makes that place awesome! I believe her name is Nafsica(she is Greek) and last night she killed it with her songs! You should definitely stop by and listen to her! Great place, great environment!

Fabulous steak. Terrible service. Not enough staff and the busboys walked by our finished appetizer plates over and over without clearing them. The salad was dirty and obviously pre made and shoved in the fridge as it was still quite cold. We waited half an hour for each of the two courses and the place was empty. I would not go back.

SODISAPPOINTING!!! Came here for dinner one night when place was half empty, but that didn’t stop the waitstaff from providing absolutely horrible service. Almost none at all. Food was okay, but far from great, and certainly not nearly as good as the dozens of other steakhouses in the city. But the one star is mainly for atrocious service. At one point a group of waiters and the manager hovered in a group no more than 20 feet from our table, and still no one responded to our repeated requests for assistance, nor our ridiculous hand waving that seemed to be the only thing they might respond to. But they ignored that too. Too expensive and sub-par when there’s so many other options. Will not return again.

Morton’s Grille is my go to place for Steak. The food is always well seasoned and cooked to perfection. Although I must say my favorite was the bread, but my steak salad was also delicious except for the fact that I always forget how much I hate blue cheese until I eat it again. The crab cake appetizer is a must, and the sides are great fillers too. Overall this is a fab steak and fish place I would give it a

Lapin and I came here for dinner on Wednesday night. We had reservations but the last place was pretty empty. Our waiter was amazingly awesome, Lapin remarked it was probably the best service he has ever gotten. The waiter took his time to explain the menu, bought Lapin hot towels for his hands after he finished eating, asked him to debone his ribs and was super attentive throughout the whole meal. Lapin ordered the Tuna Poke, which he liked. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Meatballs which was good and I don’t even usually eat ground meat. Lapin got the Bacon Fat Braised Ribs and I ordered Horseradish Crusted Salmon. My dish was okay mostly because I had sit next to Lapin’s seductively smelling *drools* Ribs… being allergic to pork sucks. Through the whole meal I kept staring at his dish. We ordered a bottle of Lohr, «Riverstone», Chardonnay which was okay. We ordered the 30 minute wait time dessert, which if I remember correctly was molten lava cake with vanilla ice cream. It was good but not worth the price. The crown jewel was definitely the ribs and Lapin is already planning his next trip.

Came for the happy hour. They have a pretty big bar and bar area with live music. There are a few big booths that would accommodate groups of 6, which is nice. The happy hour food ranges from $ 8 – 9, and the wine was $ 7, but it was really shitty wine. The merlot was disgusting. The totchos were great and so were the sliders. I wasn’t a fan of the filet sandwiches and ribs. The crab cakes and wings were ok.

Not only is the food fresh and excellent, the manager, Tomas, SAVEDMYHUSBAND’s LIFE!!! We were a party of 8 this past Sunday. Drinking, dining and enjoying our food when my husband, started to choke on his steak. The steak was excellent but he just ate too large a chunk. Our friend, a surgeon, started the heimlich maneuver but to no avail. He was unable to breathe and turning purple! Tomas, came right over, gave one heave ho, and out flew the lodged meat! He even offered to clear the entrees and bring new ones, which we refused! He sent over free desserts. Everyone there was helpful and wonderful. This place is beautiful and professional. Great food, drinks etc. If you have to choke, do it here!

I was here for an all expenses paid dinner. They had a very good filet mignon dish. The dessert was fine too — the flourless cake and New York style cheesecake. I did not have the chance to sample a broader array of foods, which limits this rating to 4 stars.

Gonna be honest here, we have been to Morton’s locations numerous times and have always had a good experience. From start to finish, this meal was pretty horrendous. We came here for lunch because they advertise a $ 25 prix fixe meal — thought we’d give it a shot. Of course, they didn’t even give us that menu. They tried sneaky tactics in order to get us to spend more money rather than being up front. When we asked for that menu, the waiter seemed annoyed and made us feel uncomfortable. Now the actual meal… My friend ordered her steak medium rare and it came out well done. It happens, so we ask the waiter to please send out a new one. He once again seems annoyed by this. The next steak came out raw. Now not just rare where the middle is red — the middle was ice cold. So I guess the moral of the story is, come here if you want either a well done or colder than raw steak cooked. The best part was that the manager was standing around watching it all happen and decided it wasn’t worth his time to check out. I have no idea how this place carries the Morton’s name — this is a glorified Outback.

Great atmosphere in this chill location. We were seated by the piano and a young woman was signing, it was really pleasant. They start you off with a gigantic loaf of bread with butter –hubby said it was plain and that butter was indeed needed. I didn’t try. We had a chimichurri steak with fries, delicious. We shared the grilled asparagus as a side, perfectly grilled and seasoned, I had the spicy Cajun pork chop, loved it– it was huge! Service was on point! Will go back!

First time at Morton’s tonight. What a nice set up, Could have done without the live music, or maybe just the choice of tunes(it was kind of hard to hear each other at some points.) Great location, wonderful ambience and the Diablo shrimp appetizer was absolutely fantastic! Waiters checked in on us without being overbearing which was appreciated, all in all great place. Will be coming back! Thanks!

This restaurant has far exceeded my expectations. Came here on the last day of restaurant week for my birthday and a friend of mine and we had a great time! Made a reservation for a table of 6 and the minute we walked in, we were seated right away. The décor is really nice! When we were seated I noticed on the menu it says«Happy Birthday Erin and Joseph!» hahahaha I thought that was really cool that they customized it and even took the menu with me! We ordered appetizers from the regular menu and ordered from the restaurant week menu. I had the 10 oz filet mignon with mashed potatoes and it was amazing! Cooked medium well just the way I like it. I’ve been to far too many steakhouses where I ask for medium well and its either well done or medium rare. For the appetizers, we ordered loaded tots, wings, and veal meatballs and they were all really good as well. We also ordered a fish bowl(forgot what the drink was called) and it was good too. it came in a little fountain thing which i thought was brilliant. All in all, I will definitely come back especially since I signed up for their rewards card! It’s $ 25 one time fee, and I get the $ 25 back next time I dine. Then whenever I spend $ 250, I get another $ 25 and since our bill came to about $ 300, I have $ 50 to spend on food next time! And they give $ 25 for your birthday as well, if you’ve visited them 2 – 3 times a year.

Solid, solid, solid spot for classy happy eats. From 3:00 — 7:00, Monday through Friday, they have their«power hour» menu with plates for $ 7, $ 8, and $ 9, and $ 8 martinis. We ordered a whole mess for the table: Iceberg wedge bites — nice mini salad bite. Refreshing and a different take. Nice and simple. Mini crab cake BLT’s — awesome crab cake sandwich, especially for the price. Petite filet mignon sandwiches — star of the night. So tender, and 4 of these bad boys for $ 8? Amazing. Tot’chos — eh. This was the miss for me. Nachos using tator tots instead of chips. Nothing special here, but bonus points for using fresh jalapeños instead of canned /picked ones. Buffalo chicken meatballs — this was a first for me, and executed perfectly. Everything you love about buffalo chicken and meatballs at once. So well done. The food here was solid, and prices during happy hour made the food a steal. Drink prices during happy hour aren’t really great, but it’s offset by the quality and value of the food, ambiance, and oh yeah, the live music. Will for sure be returning for happy hour.

Nice food, excellent service! Food portion is huge comparing with similar restaurants ! We had a steak to share with mac&cheese, it was more than enough for two! Before meal, our server bring us a warm bread, also huge! Our server Carla was really amazing! The place is beautiful and clean! A little bit price, but For sure we would come back!
