Escaped the crowds on the High Line for an early beer and some appetizers. Calamari hit the spot.

Great place for a drink and some really good Tavern food before an MSG event. Quick walk from Penn Station but far enough not to be over crowded. Great Irish Pub. Great atmosphere. Recommended.

We wanted a good ol’ Irish pub dinner, and my husband’s Google research led us here. Our first indication that we had come to the right place was that the bartender commented on my very Irish husband’s Easter Rising polo shirt. In the end, he really liked his fish & chips, although I would venture that calling it «traditional» and serving it with the same fries as my burger was probably not strictly the right play. It’s fine, though. The fries were good, and so was my burger; the bun was pretty wimpy, but it let the meat take center stage. We also wanted drinks, and Maggie’s wasn’t so great in that department. It was SUPER quiet, despite being happy hour on a Friday, and we left after dinner and one round. Also, the Maggie’s Lager was functionally no different from Bud Select, so I wouldn’t bother with it if you are looking for a local beer. In short: Good if you want dinner, skip it if you want drinks.

Came here tonight to watch the Rangers game and have some mozzarella sticks and beers. Meghan was our server. She was super awesome and knowledgeable about the beer selection. And the mozzarella sticks were perfectly cheesy! Will def be back!

This place is awesome if you just so happen to be in midtown and you’re still in the mood for a beer or cocktail long after the party has ended. That’s right you can a drink at this bar for cheap 24⁄7! It doesn’t get better than that! The ambience is a rustic Irish theme. When you arrive you will be greeted with a warm hello by the bartender Tonyann! Even the guest that were at the bar were just as friendly. She definitely sets the tone. She told me and my fiancé about her life and it made us feel close to her in the little bit of time that we spent there. I wasn’t a fan of red wine. I ordered a Pinot noir that tastes very watery. I would suggest sticking to a cold beer or getting a mix drink.

Had a great experience here. Was a quick pit stop before our journey. Our bartender Toni was so sweet. We enjoyed her stories as she strolled down memory lane and filled us in on how the city has evolved. It was really eariler so we where the only patrons at that time which was even better. The place isn’t really big, definitely on the divey side, about 12 stools alongside the bar and there where like 6 tables towards the back. Fyi $ 20 minimum for card transactions. If in the area seems like a good spot to grab a drink before you embark onto your mission.

If you’re hungry in the improv district of HellSea(deep West Chelsea), the options for booze and grub are thin. Maggie Reilly’s is within a stone’s throw of Reckless and other outposts, and a good choice for burgers, sandwiches, and pints. Don’t expect endless lists of beers, but you’ll be satisfied. 3.5 but bumping to a 4 for proximity and friendly service.

Mainly a bar, but there is a small place for the restaurant part of it. It can get crowded but this place was awesome! The Mango mojito they serve here was so good! And the burger, yum! One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. They were really welcoming and attentive. Loved this place. If I’m ever in NY again, definitely will come here again.

Great brief experience at this bar. Stopped in for a quick drink on our way from the Javits Center back to the car on 23rd Street. Saw a bunch of drink specials, including some on weekends. Most of the basic full bar items. A few beers, but not too much if you are looking for a good craft beer selection. Prices were on the cheaper side in terms of NYC prices. Beer specials were about $ 4 – 5 per beer. Wait staff was very nice and friendly. It was early in the day(3pm) on a Saturday, so it was pretty empty. We just stayed at the front bar area, but there seemed to be more seating in the back with sit-down tables.

Great place. Toni is one of the best bartenders I’ve ever met(a wonderfully sweet woman) and regulars like Charlie give this place a unique atmosphere. I plan on going back as soon as possible.

Service was great, and the food was actually really good. Bartender/server Iris took care of us – pronounced Ee-rreese(roll the tongue on the R, she’s El Salvadorian). Good fish & chips, and of course — hard to get a beer wrong. Would recommend.

The best bar food I have eaten in a long time… The ambience is typical bar feeling but the food and service are far more classy!

This place is exactly what you need when you want a cheap beer and good conversation with friends. They also offer a pitcher for around $ 15. And for that I’ll tip my hat to Ms. Maggie Reilly.

This place was so cozy on a cold afternoon. There is a nice clean bar and a few tables in the back. The bartender/waitress were super nice and accommodating(loved their accents). They didn’t seem annoyed that my husband and I were lugging around our travel bags. We ordered the cheeseburger. It was juicy, delicious and came with some thick crispy bacon which made it extra yummy. I opted for the salad as a side which was fresh. We also had some beers– a lagunitas ipa and a sam adams october fest for $ 6 each. Decently priced but it’s unfortunate we were too early for happy hour.

Great spot over on 9th avenue. They have good happy hour deals and a nice selection of bar/pub food. Try their Maggie lager it is really, really good beer. They also have seasonal ales, including Shocktop Pumpkin! We were indecisive about what apps to order and the waiter suggested the platter which was a good selection of food(wings, potato skins, fries, onion rings and chicken tenders). They even accommodated my friend that doesn’t eat bacon by making some potato skins without the meat. I know shocking because who doesn’t eat/love bacon! Anyhow, the platter was a great choice and a good amount of food for three of us. We all liked this bar and the staff was friendly and attentive. Only downside is they have a $ 20 card minimum. Not sure if this is noted on their menu.

The ladies and gents here could not do more to make everyone walking through the door feel welcome. The Penne pasta w/grilled chicken and veg is cooked to perfection. Feel a cold coming on? Order this! There is no delivery which is upsetting as I live nearby and want this dish in winter! Guess I’ll have to call ahead for pick up and have a sneaky pint!

Good time at 10:30am I can tell you that. The Irish Breakfast here was very good. I was surprised. They had great tap beers and a really fun crowd of alcoholics. I love drinking in an Irish bar in the morning and this was no exception. I was well primed for the BBB and it made for a great start to my day!
