The food came fast. Maybe a little too fast? Two of us ordered chicken & waffles. The waffles were lukewarm so the foil wrapped pats of butter didn’t melt at all. The fried chicken was fine but for $ 30 a plate I would have hoped for better. No refills on $ 4 small glasses of soda. The smothered pork chops were tough and had an odd flavor. The greens weren’t good(and I love greens) but the macaroni and cheese was good. Service was fine. I had the chicken and waffles here years ago. They came with whipped pecan maple butter and were amazing. Not sure what happened or when they started using pats of butter and syrup like what you’d get at McDonald’s. For the price it should have been much much better.

Service was terrible, waitress kept forgetting to bring us what we ordered. Food is just OK, very overpriced. Security is a little heavy handed. Kind of like Gestapo guards… They have some good bands that play there, but I may skip this palce and miss some of my favorite bands in the future…

Wow… great music and great food. The service here was top notch! We could not have asked for better. I highly recommend this for dinner and music. Try the chicken and waffles or the ribs. You can’t go wrong.

This is going to be a fast review as there was nothing really impressive, a bit disappointing to be honest. Atmosphere — not bad but nothing special for the mid-town location — and the seating was a bit cramped even for NYC. Service — very disappointing — we were in prior to the dinner rush and very little attention was paid to us. There were plenty of staff there, just more interested in speaking to one another and forgetting about drinks and things we were ordering. Food — the descriptions on the menu were much better than the actual food… you could tell what they wanted to accomplish with the menu but didn’t use anything but frozen foods to try to accomplish — tough to do when you’re trying to serve«comfort» food. Way too expensive for not only the poor service but poor food as well. Save your money and hit a pizza place.

Went to see Motown show which was good but service was horrible, food horrible! The chicken had no flavor at all. The salmon was horrible felt like it was taken out the fridge and just put on grill no flavor what so ever! The ribs were the only good thing and that was because it had bbq on it. Bottom line don’t eat there at all. Drinks are all I would have there nezt time. We were a group of 3 and our bill was about $ 200.00 just on the drinks and food not worth it!

I can’t comment about the situation here on a busy evening. I stopped by for lunch — Noon on a Wednesday. The place was basically empty — just me, the bartender and a manager. Very pleasant people. Not a long bar but plenty of table seating. BB King playing as background music. No flat screens. Prices at lunch are bar prices. A Goose Island IPA draft was $ 9.00 for what I think was a twelve ounce pour. Sandwiches start at $ 15 — I had a BLT — decent but not special, Came with rather ordinary fries. There are better places in the area for lunch.

I came in contact with a «club promoter» over Unilocal whose name is Mike and he recommended this place as a fun club to go to for people 18+ since one of my friends was not of age and I am telling you right now it was the biggest waste of money. All of the people in here looked like they were in high school and it was just extremely trashy and distasteful. Everyone was rude and the place was honestly such a joke. Don’t waste your time or money going here after hours if you have any class whatsoever.

I’m honestly a bit surprised how many terrible reviews this place has. Maybe we ordered the only good items off the menu? Maybe the only good waitress just happened to work that day? We can all agree that the music is awesome. Here are my suggestions: Order the crawfish linguine and classic burger. Get a seat at the booth. Ooo and ahhh at the food. Smile when your waitress refills your glass of water about 6 times over the course of 30 minutes.

Four stars for the venue. Five stars for the music. Two stars for the food. Tried their chopped salad with grilled chicken. Chicken was dry and salad was nondescript. You can get a much better one at a diner, but then you’d miss the awesome music.

I was all prepared to see a friends dj night and pay the venues exorbitant drink prices. It was clearly marked on the flyer the reasonable six dollar cover charge. Magically at the door they added a two dollar«processing charge». What exactly are they processing? Nothing. There was so sign at the door, only the door persons word for it. They didnt relent so I just bought the 3 or four drinks i was going to get somewhere else. They processed me right out the door. Its too bad they feel like its good business to nickle and dime your customers. The whole experience gave me the blues.

Sunday night at Lucille’s is a great time. Initially the event seemed to be crowded but that was because of the Mobb Deep concert playing at BB Kings, next door to Lucille’s. If you politely make your way to the gate keeper at the front of the line, you can be hustled past the crowd into Lucille’s. The venue is dark, and sophisticated. We were offered a table but chose to sit at the bar. The bartender was busy, dismissive and misleading. I asked her if the Mississippi Mud pie had peanut butter or peanuts in it and was told no, but I could have sworn I tasted peanuts. Luckily I didn’t have an allergy. I had to ask several times for a glass with ice, since it wasn’t provided when I received my beverage. Her lack of attentiveness was disappointing and did not motivate us to leave a good tip. Luckily at 10:30PM a phenomenal Reggae/Ska band played and turned the evening around. SkaDanks is a band that features a trombone, two trumpets, guitar players, a keyboardist, drummer, and two singers. They were very skilled musicians and had the ability to transport the audience to the shores of a Caribbean island. The only thing missing was the ocean and big fruity drinks. They don’t serve frozen drinks at Lucille’s, but they do serve a root beer floats. I cannot wait to return to Lucille’s in the coming Sundays. This experience has prompted me to investigate and take advantage of any other opportunities they may offer.

I went for the Prince/Michael Jackson Experience and although the show was fun the staff(ie the hostess, bartender) were very unpleasant. The hostess was incredibly rude and only paying attention to those who tipped her to «take care» of them. Which she did as I was literally the first person to walk in & asked to be sat at a table, was given a ticket, & never was. Definitely know to avoid this place now when in the city.

Well, shame on me for going against my rule of thumb, never order food from a Jazz Club. I wasn’t really in a drinking mood, so I decided to order dessert, a chocolate chip cookie a la mode thinking they couldn’t possible screw this up. My cookie a la mode arrived, drizzled with chocolate syrup a la Hershey and a scoop of vanilla. For some reason, some genius in the kitchen decided to lay a clean spoon on top of the cookie since the cookie was so large, there was no room to safely place it on the a clean side of the plate. Hence, my spoon lathered in Hershey syrup, sticky and useless. Why bother giving me a spoon if its full of syrup? I asked a bus boy and gave him back the offending spoon. He gave me a blank stare, then walked away. After several minutes, I was able to flag down another waitress and she flagged another bus boy who eventually delivered a spoon to me. I wish I could say the cookie and ice cream was worth the wait and ten bucks… no such luck. The cookie was over baked and had a peanut brittle hardness to it. The vanilla ice cream tasted like it just came out a Walmart’s freezer. If this place didn’t have a ten dollar cover charge for a show per person, this dinosaur kitchen’s extinction would have happened long ago.

The entertainment was outstanding, but the food is TERRIBLE! I had three times, all equally terrible. The Mediterranean chopped salad was horrible. The Mozzarella was like rubber balls, the lettuce was not chopped and was ordinary iceberg, and the tomatoes and cucumbers were so-so. The dressing was terrible and did not match the style. The«artisan» cheese plate was supposed to feature flat breads according to the menu, but it was actually replaced by fake Ritz crackers. Kraft makes better cheeses, and the grapes were not even fresh. The $ 7 french fries had an off taste, and were fried in less than fresh oil. They stunk up the whole area I was sitting in. The place also lacks in the beer menu. I had a Sam Adams which was the only decent beer on the menu. The rest was Bud, etc. YUCK! No craft beer to be found. If this place did not feature great music, it would be out of business.

Tourists and local’s beware! This place is a plain rip. Even a TDF discount can’t compensate for over priced food and drinks. Our meals came out less than five minutes after being ordered, a sure indicator of everything being cooked in advance, as it tasted. The only reason I’m not giving one star is the fried chicken was ok good, but not $ 26 bucks ok. Stop at KFC down the block if that’s what you want, no kidding. The pick up band was pretty good(they admitted to meeting each other the same day!), but they only played for 70 minutes with no second set. So we all left feeling disappointed and suckered. You may want to come in for the music, which has an overpriced two drink minimum(don’t expect any tall drinks), but if you’re hungry do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

Thank goodness we had TDF discounted tickets and didn’t waste money on over priced food! The biggest problem here is that only 40% of the tables can see the stage. The remaining 60% of the guests are then annoyed and, since they can’t see anything, end up getting louder and louder. If you go, make sure to get there EARLY so you can see. Drink pours were generous but food was expensive and didn’t look great. Definitely agree with the prior reviews about problems with the sound as it was very hard to hear the performers when they were speaking. Next door at BB King’s looked MUCH better and sound seemed better. We left early…

Disappointed!!! Was visiting the new York area and decided to have dinner here. So dark had to use my cell phone light to see the menu… not much to choose from but ordered a baked potato that only came with butter… Ordered a 15 dollar margarita that was served in a martini glass. I guess I expected more, one crab cake for I think 16 bucks… Food was not seasoned at all… I suggest u only go for concerts

I came here after wondering around looking for meat. I was tantalized with blues music before being escorted down by the doorman. Live music won’t start until later so the restaurant is dead at 7pm. Then again Nemo probably isn’t helping their business with the 18 inches of snow the storm is bringing. I was craving baby back ribs but since it wasn’t on the menu, I settled on the Memphis BBQ Ribs with purple potato salad and pink slaw. It was quite delicious and all that was left was a pile of bones and fat. The bbq sauce, as most reviewers point out, has the consistency of spaghetti sauce. It’s more of an afterthought painted on but it is also spicy and sweet. Its has the kick of Del Scorcho. Now That is not a bad thing. It’s just different than what most people are used to. Servicewise they were wonderful. There were more staff than patrons. Within 5 min of ordering, my food arrived piping hot. Candles were lit soon after and the lights were dimmed. Waiters quickly replenished empty glasses and wore infectious smiles. At $ 24, the dinner plate wasn’t cheap but then again, I didn’t go to a tourist trap in Times Square for fast food. I decided to eat here because I wanted Soul food. Before, I blow this Soul food stand, I should probably mention that they have a 3 course happy hour special for $ 23. Anywho, I am going into a food coma now and a need to get some caffeine before a night of revelry and debauchery. Be cool. :-)

It really wasn’t bad, at all. Went in for lunch and there was absolutely no other patrons in there, so the service was great. The food was food, ya know. They had a purple potato salad, yeah I didn’t try that?! I might go back, but if there’s something else I’d stumble upon, I’d probably try that first.

I had heard the prices were high at this tourist trap attached to B.B. King’s, so $ 24 each for fried chicken and a roast chicken wasn’t too much of a shock. The small portions and so-so presentation were; both entrees were pretty tasty though. I was also surprised by the total lack of atmosphere in a restaurant with a blues and gospel theme that packs in show goers at B.B.‘s and tourists for its soul food brunches.(I also had an issue with the hostess who tried to pawn us off with a table by the kitchen service window and full garbage can.) This was a last-minute decision to catch a show at B.B. King’s and Lucille’s was the quickest meal option, but I would definitely reconsider it next time. IMPORTANTNOTE: Lucille’s automatically includes a 20 percent gratuity on the bill, no matter how small your party. That certainly gives its employees no incentive at all to provide good customer service, and odds are a lot of diners don’t even notice it. We didn’t realize it at first and almost ended up double tipping.
