The day I went, they were playing french jazz. It was so beautiful. The cost for the brunch is so reasonable. You can’t find another place where you can get a nice brunch and hear live music especially in the Times Square area. We all know how crazy Times Square can be with all the crowds and lour noises. but when you step in to BB Kings it is like you are in a whole different world as if you stepped back in time. My only complaint is that I order chicken and waffles and so did two of my other friends. For some reason I was the only one who did not get the pretty display of a sliced orange around a knife on top and I did not get powdered sugar on my waffles. Not sure why I didn’t get it but my two friends did and we all ordered the same.

Last year I went to a slick Rick and cool Keith show it was fucking awesome however someone did bring the gun this along time ago but in all recent events in the past while I figured that maybe they should up their security. shows and not having a bag check or something like that, ain’t wise. I don’t mind I having a bad check and a pat down at this point knowing at least that no one else in the audience has a weapon is better than not on a side note the food is extremely expensive and not that bad but not that great but I do like BB Kings and my just because be because I do like the artist BB King but it’s also because I saw the band band there and they should play way more often because thereI having a bad check and a pat down at this point knowing at least that no one else in the audience has a weapon is better than not on a side note the food is extremely expensive and not that bad but not that great but I do like BB Kings and my just because be because I do like the artist BB King but it’s also because I saw«the the band band«there and they should play way more often because they were killer

3.5 stars Caribbean Rocks NYC, Tempo networks 10 year anniversary and award show was held at this venue on 6÷5÷16. BB Kings used to be my spot for clubbing back in 2005 and I always had a good time. Fast forward to this past weekend, I was interested to see how the setup would be for an event of this caliber. We were led downstairs to a room setup with VIP tables, Tempo branded tablecloths and a red carpet. Imo this room was fairly small to accomodate the amount of guest and media expected to attend. We felt the brut of that later on as all media personnel were pushed into the backstage area to make room for all the guests. It was packed in there! In reference to the venue itself the bathrooms had an attendant and were clean, the drink of the evening, «Tempos Rum punch» was strong, tasty and decently priced($ 10) and all the food looked appetizing. There was a specific menu for the event as well, highlighting popular dishes from a few Caribbean islands but the prices were high. The jerk chicken plate was like $ 25 and smaller plates started at $ 12, pretty pricey. The waitstaff was professional, plesant and helpful as they walked around handing out appetizers, taking drink orders and serving food. Due to the circumstances I was unable to taste any food but everything from the codfish fritters to the samosas appetizers looked delightful. That $ 25 jerk chicken smelled amazing too! The security staff was pretty cool as well, we had no issues at the door and bc of the type of crowd there were no fights, drunken idiots or anything. My only complaint was the production team there. They caused a few hiccups during the beginning of the event; playing music videos during acceptance speeches, the lighting was too dark at times, constantly being told to play or cue in things, it was like they were amateurs. Other than that issue I think the event was a success.

I’ve been to BB King for different events. A real fun venue, they have so many different shows. Last night I saw Strawberry Fields. They were excellent and we had a fabulous time. The food is great here also. The waiter was fantastic too, always smiling and easy going even though he had no real help. He was the only waiter covering an entire section and it was a packed house. We waited a long time for drinks, the order was incorrect when it finally arrived. My order was given to someone else. ***The restaurant definitely needs more waiter staff. ***

I attempted to go to a soca fest last night with my girls and guy, purchased«VIP» tickets online ahead of time to avoid lines and congestion. Not only was the line for the event down the block and around the corner, but anyone who purchased tickets online and arrived after midnight couldn’t get in anyway. The venue was at capacity, event brite oversold the event, and promoters were still selling tickets to people on the streets… it was complete and total Mayhem. The cops couldn’t control the crowd on the outside, so could you imagine what the inside looked like? Uh uh never again, not only am I too grown for such foolishness but it’s also not worth my life for greedy promoters and owners trying to over pack a venue in Times Square.

This is the second time I’ve come to see an act and I have not be disappointed, but as all other reviews say come for the show and come early seats fill up. Food was more 2 star but the acts I’ve seen I have been very please. The Harlem Gospel Choir and The Selena Experience. Check my post I’ve uploaded videos

Overpriced food($ 23 for a mediocre bacon cheeseburger, $ 9 for a bottled beer), crowded seats, and stupid employees trying to seat you all crammed together at a table, while other tables of 8 only had 2 people seated at them. I will never go back!

Come here for the music and ONLY for the music. The brunch is a joke and a bad one. The hot food is cold and the cold food must have been out for days! Just read the reviews on «ticket master» The word«terrible» is quite often used about the food!

I came here for the DMX show and thought it was a pleasant and better than expected experience. Located in the heart of Times Square, BB Kings is easily reachable via public transportation. I arrived about 30minutes after doors had opened and line was formed outside in a orderly manner. Upon entering everyone including females were padded down and examined thoroughly(better than the TSA) so you felt decently safe. Once inside there is coat check available and the concert venue is downstairs. The space itself is small but intimate. It is also dark. The bar is on the opposite side of the stage and there are tables on the side. I went to the front of the stage and patiently waited for DMX. A nice touch was that a waitress came by to those waiting in the front to take our drink orders which was appreciated as no one wanted to lose their spot. One key negative: it is impossible to get out once show is over — one small exit out. Tip: you can buy tickets on ticketmaster but you can also purchase at the BB Kings box office in advance(and you will save on fees) I wouldn’t hesitate to attend another show here.

Attended a concert here recently and enjoyed a concert here in the past… BB Kings has a nice enough stage and space.

If I was able to give my experience 3.5 stars I would. Went there to see Ace Frehley last night expecting the worst after reading some of the other reviews. We sat in the VIP section, which at first I felt was a waste given how cramped we were at a table full of strangers, but then as the place got packed, I was glad we had the seats. To rate my experience by component: 1) VIP seating gets a 3. It’s nice to have a guaranteed seat, but they put too many people at the table. It’s a 6 person table that they cram 8 people at, which is both awkward and makes it difficult to eat a proper meal. I guess it’s worth the extra $ 20 if you don’t want to stand. 2) Food gets a 4. I got a burger and it was pretty delicious. Everything the people around me ordered looked good too. The down side is that everything was about 50% more expensive than it should have been. They clearly charge Times Square tourist prices. 3) Drinks get a 3. Nothing special here. Got a tap beer which was fine and a gin & tonic that was a disappointment. I looked at the wine selection just for the heck of it and it was really weak. 4) Service gets a 4. We had a good waiter that kept with us all night. 5) Overall sound /concert experience gets a 4. It’s a small place so seeing an idol play there is pretty cool.

I read a good amount of Unilocal reviews prior to coming here but decided to give this place the benefit of the doubt. Boy, was that a bad decision. A few months ago we went to go see a cover band here. First, the venue(Lucille). We were seated in the far back to the left, and in front of us was a wall. I literally could not see the band. As we didn’t really care about seeing the bad(would’ve sucked big time if we did) we didn’t mind too much. The service was ATROCIOUS. I am typically a pretty laid back person and give a lot of leeway for crappy service; I’m not that person that complains to the manager or sends food back. But this was absolutely insane and still frustrates me thinking about it months later. They sit me and my bf at a table with two dirty glasses; one empty and one partially full. The server took the partially full glass from the table and proceeded to fill the dirty, empty glass that was there when we were seated. Asked for new glasses of water a couple of times, never got them. It took the server 15min(literally) to greet us. She took our drink order and tried to scoot and we called her back to take our our order(as we had been there for so long). We got chicken & waffles app. The app arrived pretty quickly to be fair, around 10−15min. The reason perhaps being, both chicken and waffles tasted microwaved. The poor food runner had to literally hunt down silverware for us, as all we were seated with were two dirty glasses. And get this. We had literally finished our app before we got our first round of drinks(approx 30min in). I got a mojito and I swear the bartender was trying to screw with me for ordering a quasi-difficult drink. I wish I had taken a picture of this drink because the glass was literally half-full — yes, half-full — of disgusting looking mint leaves. Couldn’t drink it and just asked for a stoli and tonic. Of course, tonic was flat. I can easily say that I have never experienced worse service than this place. Two parties to the left and right of us asked to speak with the manager. I’ll take a wild guess that they did so because of the horrible service and drinks. I really wish I could like this place. Maybe if we had decent seats, I could’ve given this place an extra star for the venue itself.

1. The venue smells like wet feet(oh god) 2. Music was great! 3. Food was expensive as expected, $ 10 minimum/person at tables – so eat up ahead of time and order a drink($ 9 beer; $ 16 cocktail; $ 12 – 16 appetizers, expect them to be very small)

Brought a group of college students to the gospel brunch. We were told to arrive at noon. We did and were then told to wait outside until 12:30 in the line until the doors opened(in January). The doors actually opened at 12:40 and everyone was let in and seated. The entire crowd was in their seats by 12:55. The buffet was there ready to be consumed weren’t was allowed to get up until 1:10 to begin eating. During that wait — I was hoping they would take drink orders. Nope. The staff that was out stood on the floor and did NOTHING. I have no idea why. We were all finally invited to the subpar buffet with it’s cold, bland choices. Drink orders were taken and took about 15 minutes to return. No one ever came back to see if we wanted another round. The place is dirty — men’s room full of piss from the night before. The show was fine but not great. The space itself could be a good venue if management and staff actually knew what they were doing. Clearly they are banking on easy tourist audiences who won’t be back. Stay away!

I’m giving this visit 5 stars because of the music I heard this evening. It all began with Indra. What an amazing voice. Her band included her husband with whom there’s definite chemistry. Then there was Dee Dee Bridgewater. WOW! Her band, for whom she has released an album on her own label, DDB, was outstanding. Then, when she brought out another trumpet player, whose name escapes me, OMG. Now that was smokin’ chemistry!(Sorry for the cheesy description ;-)) Dee Dee was Awesome! Lizz Wright finished the set with her full, soulful, deep, contralto(?) voice. Such a beautiful woman with a voice that doesn’t disappoint. Lovely. I sure got my money’s worth tonight.

When I think of music, I think of classic 90’s r&b groups like Mint Condition(Pretty Brown Eyes). I brought my ticket online about a month prior in fear that they would be sold out, but the night of the show they still had tickets available. The venue looks small but is a pretty good size and accommodates tons of people, especially the lengthy line of soulful folks waiting to get in. There was standing room only, but people were sitting at tables and being serviced. I think most of them had to reserve their seats online prior to attending. The concert was great and lasted for about 2 hours. Other notes: — Coat check. — Don’t be intimidated by the line outside, it moves swiftly. — Full bar. — Plenty of great artists and performers on a weekly basis.

Great blues/soul venue for a cover of $ 15 and minimum order of $ 10. The ambience and energy was electrifying!

Not the best venue to see a band/musician but not the worst. When I came here to see The Tubes, they had tables set up in front of the stage(not sure if this ever changes) and people were seated, eating/drinking. We hung out in the back, by the bar. Plenty of space but also kind of an odd set-up, not very conducive to «rocking out.» Drinks ain’t cheap either but that’s to be expected.

I visited B.B. Kings on a Friday night for a James Brown Tribute Show that my girlfriend had bought through Goldstar. First, if you’re attending a show here, be prepared for the fact that there is a minimum table charge per guest of $ 10. Honestly, it’s not a huge deal if you’re going to drink or eat here because the food prices are insanely high anyway. I’ll get to that later. The space downstairs is pretty big. There’s a small stage for the performers and tables surrounding it. Remember, it is first come first serve, so if you want a good table, get there early! We arrived at about 5:30pm and there was barely a soul inside so we got the table we wanted. As for the food, yes it was VERY pricey! I thought I was in a steakhouse while looking at the menu! Our party of 4 ordered the following: BLUESYWINGS — Be prepared to get messy. The wings were pretty good, flavorful and came with a side of carrot and celery sticks. PITSMOKEDCHICKENNACHOS — The serving size was huge! They were very generous with the amount of toppings on the nachos. However, for $ 18, not sure if it was worth it considering it was just nachos. SMOTHEREDCHICKEN — The chicken was soft and was drenched with the sauce. For those that are not a fan of greens, there’s plenty of it! Also, I loved the mac & cheese too. BLUESBOYMEMPHISSTYLEBBQRIBS — Our friends ordered this, but I had a taste of the ribs. The ribs were super soft and pretty much fell off the bones whenever biting into it. Also, the baked potato was massive! The show was very lively and I loved the performance. Many people even ended up getting up to dance towards the back of the room during it! It does get very loud inside pre– and during the show so this is not the place to have a quiet conversation. I would definitely recommend the show to any of my friends, but just be prepared to pay thru the nose for the food !
