I really enjoyed my visit here!

It was kind of on the pricey side; but worth it in my opinion.
I will definitely be returning :-)

Nice laid back interior design. Super friendly lady bartenders, so nice, which is unusual for a NYC bar. The chips were soooo good. The seasoning was spicy and salty at the same time.
I’d definitely come back.

While my lush self was browsing the Unilocal Drinks participants for Manhattan I stumbled across this place. I thought it was perfect since it’s close enough to my job. I went check out the menu and while scrolling I nearly died.
I’m scrolling away and suddenly I see «Binghamton Spiedies». The only thing I could say, audibly mind you, was «oh my God». Spiedies… outside of Binghamton?! It can’t be real. But there it was in black and white.
First of all… I’m from Binghamton so to be able to get spiedies without a) having to go to my parents’ or b) buy the marinade and bring it home with me is a huge WIN.
I made up my mind to take the walk over Friday with a coworker. Naturally I had high expectations. I mean hello… I grew up on these. I know what they should taste like.
Well… Little Town has its pros and cons.
First, I love the local vibe. It’s relaxed, the music is great, the bartender was awesome and I got a free round from a beer rep. I’ll definitely come back to this place for after work drinks sometime.
The con, these are not spiedies. Like I said, I grew up with them and these aren’t it. It’s a house made marinade and it’s just not right. I wish they’d contact the rib pits in Binghamton and ask about having the marinade shipped down. Then they’d be authentic.
Another pro, and a definitive factor in the 4 stars, the Stadium Garlic fries are AHHHMAZING! Seriously. For those alone I’ll be coming back.

Came here a couple times for drinks/​food.
The place gets pretty crowded, so the service can be a bit slow, but the beer selection is good enough for iit not to matter. The food is decent. I had the garbage plate, and while it’s not quite like it is in Rochester, it was as good as an effort as any.
Would go again on days it’s not as busy.

I had come before for a Unilocal event and have had drinks at the Little Town downtown, so I decided to try this place with some out of town visitors. Casual bar food, and my friends are avid beer drinkers, so I thought they would appreciate the NY gastro brewery experience… whatever that means.
When I had last come I remembered having the wings and thinking they were really good, so I was suddenly in the mood! Quickly glancing over the menu I realized the Garbage platter was BBQ flavored, so I opted for original… unfortunately the wings were disappointing.
Little Town was dead on a Sunday afternoon, so the waitress was especially nice and took great care of us. She even recommended a place near by for us to stop and get a local 6 pack for my visiting friends.
I’d love to come back during happy hour and get some Oysters and beer!

A friend and I stopped by on the way to another restaurant on Restaurant Row and probably should’ve stayed here… but, that’s another review. Anyways, the atmosphere was cool. It wasn’t too crowded, just enough people to feel comfy (it was right after happy hour ended). The drinks were strong enough to have us tipsy after just one… The waitress, Shannon, wasn’t the warmest but she did comp us two shots which was appreciated. The menu looked really cool. Will return to try happy hour and the menu.

I guess it depends what you are looking for.
We came with a Living Social coupon for drinks and oysters, only to be told that the oysters had not been delivered that morning. We had the option of just getting an equivalent amount of food, or getting our voucher signed so that we could come back some other day to get the oysters.
We decided to try out their menu, and was seated at a small bar table with stools for our Open Table reservations. Thankfully we took the opportunity to move to a table against the wall, because 20 minutes later our first small bar table was completely knocked over by a more particularly «lively”/inebriated patron who was at the bar. Needless to say, there isn’t much room in between seating and the bar.
We ordered the beer-​battered chicken wings, which neither tasted of beer nor of anything resembling delicious. No seasoning whatsoever, heavily battered, and just a disappointment all in all. We also had the sliders, which were a respectable showing, but really nothing to write home about.
But they’ve got a great selection of beer, and I was happy to see a healthy selection on tap, esp. with a great focus on local beers (and $ 5 happy hour drafts)! I’d say that would be a great reason to come back if I was in the area. But otherwise, it’s just another crowded, loud and raucous bar with two menu items that leave much to be desired, and provide little motivation to see if the other items are any better.

This place has a great, casual atmosphere without being divey. The 4-​person platter is a very good deal, with burgers, hot dogs, baked beans, and wings. The burger and hot dogs were good, but nothing that special. I ordered a sloppy joe, which tasted amazing and had melted cheese! However, it was so greasy that the bread got soaked in oil.
Beers here are all NY-​based. I wanted to have a Doc’s cider and a blueberry ale, but they ran out of both! =(

One of my favorite happy hour destinations. Awesome beer selection, all brewed in NY and all $ 5 drafts during happy hour. $ 1 oysters. Awesome food. I suggest the beer battered chicken wings or the pretzel crusted chicken fingers.
And the atmosphere is super chill. First come first serve on the tables with no wait list, so don’t be afraid to stake a claim.
Garbage plate gives you a nice opportunity to try a classic Rochester style drunk food… but wasn’t so good and is apparently not very authentic.
Love this place!

I love the oysters and beer menu in this place. The only problem is that they get SO packed after work hours. I would say to get there early to secure your spot and make sure you have an idea straight off the bat as to what you want from the menu and any extras because when it gets busy, the servers have tunnel vision and it’s like trying to get the attention of a blind person if you do need to ask for anything. Or, if you can squeeze in to a bar area seat, you will be well taken care of by the bar staff. They are pretty attentive.
I have been dying to try some of their other menu items. Hubby and I tried the garlic fries and they were probably some of the best fries I’ve ever eaten. Real garlic and so crispy yummy. We also went to the Lower Manhattan location and had brunch.
Little Town will remain a staple when I visit the city for some raw bar, good drinks and a great energetic atmosphere.

Decent. Not spectacular. I went here in a group of 3 on a Saturday evening and we managed to get seated right away with no reservations, so that was good (though it always makes you question the place you’ve just wandered into).
I had a beet and goat cheese salad that was pretty good, although it was kind of odd that they didn’t serve iced tea. My dining companions ordered burgers and (I think) some kind of grilled cheese, respectively. Neither seemed to be totally wowed, but they both found the food adequate.
The restaurant itself was a little grungy-​feeling, but on the upside, it was also incredibly cheap for a sit-​down place in NYC. Given that there are so many places to choose from when I find myself in New York, I doubt I’ll be back — but it’s not a bad place for a simple, casual dinner.

Bartenders are very attentive, even if I’m standing 10 feet from the bar, he can tell… I’m thirsty!

The goat cheese & honey croutons were DELICIOUS. I’m not sure if it’s on the menu at Little Town, but those little monsters were irresistible.
The bartenders were fast, friendly and accommodating. Looks like there are two floors to this bar, but never made it upstairs. The bathroom was clean considering I’ve been to plenty of NYC bars with nasty bathrooms.

Little Town, second to its first location located in Union Square, is a great bar for drinks and food. The décor is classy and rich, with dark wood-​lacquered furniture, exposed brick walls, and a box-​like ceiling in a dark-​lit ambiance. It sort of feels like a saloon with a rustic attitude. The bar area is large, seating about 15 – 20 people, with a couple tables outside and in front, some high-​tables running parallel to the bar, and several small tables in the back. There are also a handful of additional tables on the upper level, that somewhat overlooks the bar area, and could be nice for a private event.
What stands out at Little Town is its offering of 100+ local beers with about two dozen on tap. Beers vary from Ithaca, Fire Island, Ommegang, Blue Point, Brooklyn Brewery, Coney Island and more. Check out their website for a full listing of what they offer. All draft beers are $ 5 everyday from 5 PM — 8 PM. Complimenting those beers are some happy hour raw bar offerings: $.99 Long Island oysters and clams on Monday — Friday, 5 PM — 8 PM ($ 1.49 each from 8 PM — 12 AM) and on Thursday-​Saturday, 8 PM — 12 AM.
If happy hours aren’t your thing or if you’re looking for something a little more substantial, Little Town also offers local cuisine ranging from soup, salads, buffalo wings, steak, and sandwiches. It’s basically a mix pot of all that New York and its local cuisine has to offer. Just remember to make reservations as wait times can average 30 minutes during dinner time.
We had a LivingSocial deal for $ 34, which included 2 dozen oysters and 4 beers/​cocktails. The waitress was still very nice and enthusiastic when she noticed we had the voucher. The waitress asked me to write my email address and phone # down and proceeded to get our first round of drinks. Throughout our meal, she was attentive and came by frequently to check up on us.
The beer selection is what many will come here to enjoy. Most are from the region, but not mainstream mass-​market beers. I really enjoyed the Ithaca Cascazilla which has a subtle sweet maltiness, some citrus notes, and some hops. It was a well-​balanced beer that I could enjoy, but beware, as this has 7.0% ABV, definitely one of the stronger ales that Little Town offers.
Their $ 0.99 Long Island oysters are not too shabby, but don’t expect anything grand by any scale. They are served 12 at a time on a bed of ice with a couple small wedges of lemon, a cocktail sauce and a red hued vinegar-​like sauce. These oysters are of the smaller to medium sized variation. They are not enormously plump and briny, but they had good color (rather than cloudy) and were decently fresh. The shucking was somewhat lacking and most if not all oysters were still attached to the shell. I found myself much too frequently using a utensil to separate it from the shell, so that I could just slide the oyster into my mouth. About half of them had this hard thin-​like bit. It wasn’t sand nor was it a piece of the shell, and I couldn’t quite make out what it was. I found myself tonguing it out onto my finger to discard it and the oyster shells in the small metal bucket. I didn’t care much for these oysters, and would most definitely prefer going for some Littlleneck clams instead.
The Pretzel Crusted Chicken Fingers ($ 10.00) were a tasty treat. A deceptively generously sized portion of NY State Chicken coated in pretzel crumbs was served in a basket along with a spicy honey mustard and a smoked BBQ sauce. They were crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and far from being greasy. Both sauces were good, but I really liked the smoked BBQ sauce, sweet and tangy, which we finished to the last bit. I would definitely get this dish again!
A few days later, I received an email from Paul Shapiro, even plannet for FunBars with an invitation to return to Little Town with the first round of drinks on the house. Although that invitation in no way affects my perception of Little Town NYC, it was a very nice gesture that might take up on.

I don’t know what it is about this place that just keeps me coming back for more.
a) the wait staff is not that great but i guess attentive enough?
b) food is not that fancy but taste good enough?
c) there aren’t many people inside but always packed enough?
The attraction is that it is not that busy, good price, good food and the atmosphere of cool bar feeling. I’ve eaten brunches there and even late afternoon beer or two. It just felt right. That’s all i can say.

During a recent trip to New York we walked into Little Town after checking out a couple other menus on Restaurant Row. We loved that the hostess chatted us up about the menu while we were trying to decide which restaurant to enjoy. As the matter of fact, of all the places we looked at, Little Town was the only one who had someone greet us outside. Granted, it was late on a Tuesday night so I don’t know what service is like during peak hours, but it was enough to get us through the front door. We were also impressed that the restaurant’s menu is basically a love letter to the different flavours and tastes that this remarkable city has to offer. With choices that seek to highlight the different neighborhoods and boroughs of the city, it seemed like the perfectly place for us to taste the city from the comfort of one restaurant.
By request, we sat at the back where it was quiet. My boyfriend ordered a Coney Island Sword Swallower beer and quite enjoyed it. My Long Island Iced Tea was nothing special for what it cost, but still enjoyable. Our water glasses were consistently refilled without us having to ask.
As I said, it was late on a Tuesday so I don’t know what the service is like normally, but our server (Heather) was really attentive and personable.
We weren’t crazy hungry, so we decided to order a few appetizers to share. We settled on the pretzel-​crusted chicken fingers, stadium garlic fries, and a soft pretzel. I was devastated that they had JUST run out of pretzels, so we switched to the beer-​battered chicken wings, and all the items arrived at our table in no time.
The highlight was easily the stadium garlic fries. The flavour was unbelievable, and the fries were cooked exactly how I like them.
The pretzel-​crusted chicken fingers were soft and and the pretzel added a really unique flavour I had never experienced. The beer-​battered wings were good, but a little on the dry side. We ended up with a ton of leftovers to take with us, which were boxed up quickly and brought to us with our bill.
I would definitely recommend this place to any of my friends who are looking to visit NYC for the first time. My only regret is that we didn’t have more time visit again and explore a greater variety of the flavours that their menu has to offer.

Spotted on Unilocal before going to Time Square at dinner time, we didn’t get robbed there. Little town is mainly a place to drink beer (and they have lots of them) but is also totally recommendable for tourists (as we are) who wants to eat American. If they are willing to eat meat and chips in quite big serving for an affordable price (comparing to the neighborhood), Little Town is their place.
We had sausage sandwiches, a steak in a sandwich and a hamburger. The sausage sandwich was a bit spicy, but just as it should be. The sandwich with the steak was covered by mashed potatoes and was perfectly cooked. The hamburger with bacon, cheese and a poached egg was consistent, and the meat very tasty. Once in another, even if it wasn’t «haute cuisine», we have had there our best meal in NY until then.
The mood was also nice, with nice music and crowd. The waitress wasn’t very efficient, but the barman compensated it easily. In the end, ate and drank very correctly for less than 30 $ per person with the tip. Unexpected at that distance from Time Square.

Went back again on a Saturday night. Good crowd, not empty, not packed. Lots of selection, and they had most of the beers I ordered. (Just sort of went down the list trying them one-​by-​one.) A good night all around.

Why so few reviews? I love this place!
Actually I wouldn’t have known to come here until I purchased a Living Social deal but I was so excited when I saw the menu. Happy hour is great here! $ 0.99 oysters during HH (and the special every Thurs-​Sat!) and $ 1.49 from 7pm to close? That’s awesome! They were well shucked and fresh, happy as a clam!
We chose to sit by the bar and the bartender was great. We also got the Little Town garbage wings, loved it!
I can’t wait to come back… and with my first free round of drinks, I’ll definitely be back soon =)

We came here for dinner and drinks on a Saturday night. The restaurant and bar was pretty packed and busy — a good sign. The restaurant is actually very big — they have a full downstairs that reaches to the very back, as well as an upstairs. Good thing is that they take reservations for at least a party of 6 on a Saturday night. We were actually turned down by two restaurants for not taking reservations on a weekend for such a big party. So The Village gets plus points for that. It was also nice to to sit in the back by the bathrooms (beer = frst-​world bladder problems) and watch the NCAA Final Four game on the projector. I should mention that we asked to have the basketball game projected so we could watch the play offs, and the waitress was super nice and accomodating about it!
We had two different kinds of beers during dinner — the Checkerpoint and another one whose name I do not remember. The overall opinion was that the Checkerpoint was way too light, bearing too much resemblance to Bud Light. Everyone else seemed to enjoy the second beer, though I found it a bit to powerful and spicy. Food-​wise, our party of six just ordered a bunch of appetizers and shared family-​style. We ordered fried oysters, cheeseburger sliders, hot dogs, beer-​battered wings, BBQ wings, mac and cheese salad, chili, and the garbage platter. The garbage platter was interesting though — it’s a plate of tater tots, chili, cheese, and mac and cheese piled on a plate like a heart attack disguised as garbage. The chili was a little bit spicy and gave the garbage platter a kick. It was a novelty and definitely something to be shared by an entire party. My favorite item by far was the cheeseburger sliders!!! Usually, sliders are puny and not filling and you don’t always get your bang for your buck. However, this slider could count as a full hamburger. The meat was cooked medium-​well, and it tasted absolutely heavenly with a few dollops of ketchup and some salad I found on the plate of fried oysters (hehe). I had to have 2 sliders because it was that good! Besides the sliders, everything else was good and very very very very filling, but I wasn’t incredibly and absolutely amazed by it. However, our whole party was satisfied about the food for your buck. $ 34 for a truck load of appetizers and 3 pints of beers in NYC? I’d take that.

I can’t believe no one has reviewed this yet. This space used to be the Pourhouse. It’s the same owners, but new chef, and boy is the food good. I had the Reuben sandwich and my guest had a grilled cheese. They were both served with house made chips. The Reuben — was oh, my god, I’m so in love…
They have a HUGE assortment of beers and their house vodka is really good. They have a daily oyster special too. Also, for a limited time, there’s cards at the front that gives you 15% off your bill and a free pint. Not too shabby!
The service was incredibly friendly and helpful. The interior is about the same except for the shifting of some tables around.
Will definitely be back!
