Randomly walked in don’t tell mama after dinner with friends on a Friday night. The décor here looks like the Titanic and feels like in that era. A good variety of people, it is not a specific type of bar. Great for group especially for music lovers. All the people in the bar could sing: the waitress, the piano man, the cashier and etc. The line up for today is Jerry. We love the singer Tara Martinez!!! Fantastic voice. not to exaggerate I mean they could all go to the auditions for X factor. The sweet potato Fries is a must try! For drinks: Sexy mama, the funny girl, a chorus line martini, wicked witch and Blue man balls are great cocktails. No for Mormon Mai Tai, it tastes like cough syrup… Overall amazing experience!!! Recommended to everyone!!!

There was a wait but we were seated right away in the outside veranda which had a heater. Awesome menu. So many choices. We decided on strip steak and shrimp and lobster ravioli in vodka sauce. Crab cake app and salads. Everything was great. Waiter was attentive and friendly. Great experience. Would recommend. Only gave a four because the Rocky balboa cocktail wasn’t very good and a slight wait for the food…

Don’t Tell Mama is probably one of my favorite spots in the theater district, never had a bad meal here! The crispy skin Atlantic salmon is amazing, and so is the seared seafood trio. Servers are always super attentive without being annoying. Besides the food, the ambiance is so much fun — all songs from musicals playing in the background, and the walls are decorated with tons of old Broadway show posters. Overall just a great experience, awesome food — this place does not disappoint!

Absolutely the BEST find in NYC time square area! This piano bar was amazing, the staff we part of the performance as they were singing with the piano as well. I can’t pin point any best person because they really all were! Thank you for the perfect experience while staying in NYC Time Square!

Took some friends to the piano bar the other night. It was a ton of fun! They played lots of different music — some showtunes, some top 40, etc. This place gets crowded! Definitely show up early. The host was very sweet and got us a table right up front by the piano. We arrived around 8:40 and there were still a few spots open. The staff are all very talented and friendly. We will definitely be returning.

Made reservations here based on other great reviews. we ordered chicken stay and crab cakes as starters. the crab cakes were too salty and the chicken stay was too dry. We ordered the salmon, duck and ravioli entrees. The salmon was pretty good. My friends did not like their food at all. The cous cous that came with the duck was the best tasting thing on the menu. PS we didn’t stay for the cabaret.

It’s all about the staff ! Was looking frwd to this place from a friend who went. We went to the piano bar, on entry told min drink policy. Sat at bar and there was piano man singing some songs that I didn’t really know which is ok.(I’m a musical buff so usually know all songs) Bar staff where cordial to say the least. Not really much interest in customer. Then it all fell into place ‚. Piano singer and staff have this set up that they all tell joking stories about how good good singers they are etc. Mike is passed to one staff then another who sing audition songs they used from their failed career obviously. They talk to eachother assuming you as a customer like or are enjoying their entertainment. It was uncomfortable and cringy. ESP when they all constantly pat eachother on the back while you as a customer seat there ignored. Just dony get this place and hence wont t be back !

Came for a show. $ 20 cover, $ 13 for ginger and seltzer, $ 10 automatic tip for party of three. Great show! Sticker shock at the resulting bill. But it’s midtown

We went to the piano bar two nights in a row and had a great time. The environment was friendly and FUN. The staff not only worked hard at their jobs serving us(got our drinks fast and they were very attentive), they were great singers. Our fav was our waiter, Tommy. Loved his singing. The piano player singers were great too. The guy on Saturday was very good. Sorry, forgot his name. Yeah, there was a 2 drink minimum, but no entrance fee. So, it was a deal. You could get one drink and food. The brie was good. We were there for so long, we wanted that second drink.

If only I could give this place 0 stars… (By the way, this review is for the singing concert) I went here for a friend’s concert with my sister. I was told it would be $ 15 for entrance per person, which I thought was a little pricey but whatever. What outraged me the most is how they forced us to buy 2 drinks minimum per person. Which I thought was fine… Until I found out the drinks were 6.50PERDRINK. So my sister and I ended up spending $ 64(including tip and tax). By no means am I a millionaire so $ 64 just for a 30 minute concert and 2 drinks(that were really small) was a dread to pay. I felt robbed of my money at the end of the day. I advise you guys not to go here. The waiters try to make you buy more drinks without your consent.

Best friend and his Cap21 crew were performing a cabaret called«Second Time Around» in the piano bar at Don’t Tell Mama, and of course, I had to come to support him! It was such a cool way to spend a Thursday night! While the whole bar was pretty big, the piano bar in the back was more of an intimate affair. There was roughly around 30 seats and admission was $ 10pp + minimum of 2 drinks. We were limited on our choice of beverages and the drink prices were pretty inflated… but yet again it’s Manhattan prices. Overall, the staff was friendly and I definitely had a great time!

We were in NYC few just a few days and organized an impromptu«family reunion.» We had heard about Don’t Tell Mama, the location was perfect(we had tickets for a show down the block for that night) and were able to get a reservation for 10 the same day. While there are several venues in this one location, we stayed in the front dining room only. Our server brought the main menu. Someone in our party asked about the price fixed menu and the server brought those out too. For $ 24, you get a soup or salad, an entrée, and a dessert. Seemed a good deal, especially in a midtown Manhattan restaurant. I decided to go with the price fixed meal. I chose the gazpacho to start, the tilapia for a main course, and a brownie for dessert. It’s been a while since I’ve had gazpacho, so I have no expertise as to what a good bowl should taste like. However, the gazpacho I ate here was just bland and very unexciting. Not bad, but much less than the gazpacho I remember from my past. The presentaion of the talapia was very nice. But the presentation was the best part of the dish. Also very bland and unexciting. The brownie was the highlight of the meal. Moist and delish. My wife had the chicken marsala. Now that was a tasty dish(only $ 18). My brother-in-law had another of the price fixed dishes, the coucous. It ended up less than half eaten. He described it as greasy and bland. The service was excellent. If only all of the food was up to that standard. I was torn between 3 stars(for the food) and 4 stars(for the food and ambiance), but since the food quality is the most important item in the rating, I ended up rounding down.

What’s not to love about Don’t Tell Mama? Good location in Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood. Laid back ambiance. Live pianist playing classic and modern jams. Happy hour from 4−8pm. Generous wine pours for $ 4. Friendly bartender. Doesn’t get much better than that. Oh, and don’t tell mama!

This review is for the Piano Bar. We walked in late on a holiday Sunday after a show and were immediately greeted. The venue was packed but luckily for us, four seated had just opened up at the bar. The staff is friendly and super efficient, multitasking by singing while mixing drinks or serving tables. They are amazing and talented and very entertaining. The atmosphere is pure and unfiltered fun. Everyone is laughing amd singing along and it’s just all around a great time. The food surprised us, in a good way. We had a turkey club and it was pretty good for a bar snack. The drinks are a little pricey, but completely in line with this side of town. We’d definitely go back, it was just too much fun.

Everything about the restaurant and bar areas was phenomenal. The food was great, and the atmosphere was quiet and intimate. The drinks were very strong as well, which was definitely a plus. The piano bar area was so much fun! Definitely the best part of my stay in NYC. Our server was so nice, and then she got up to sing and blew it out of the water! Definitely a must next time I’m in the city!

This review is for the piano bar. I usually stop by whenever I am in the area for. Broadway show. The location is convenient(right on restaurant row) around the corner from many theaters. The drinks are strong and fairly priced. If there happens to be someone playing piano at the time you visit, it will make it for a fun time. Two drink minimum to avoid the cover charge.

I love this place. Sure, the service can be meh and, well, they don’t have the best wine selection in town, but the performances are amazing; this place is pure entertainment.

This review is for the piano bar. This place is awesome. Great atmosphere and a super fun place to spend a night(or the end of your night) with your friends. Like other reviewers said, all the people working here(wait staff, bartenders) are aspiring Broadway stars so they sure can sing. It was fun to see them be interactive with the audience and each other. They all take turns doing numbers of Broadway, classic, or modern songs. Came on a Sunday night. Still got packed by 9:30pm. Jerry was the pianist and he’s pretty entertaining. I was most blown away by Tara, she’s amazing! I don’t know about the drinks since I didn’t drink but I would totally come back.

Not having reservations on a Saturday night of a holiday weekend was a huge bummer, using open table we stumble upon this place, and heard from a friend who lived here they do some singing and what not while there. Unfortunately when we got there with our reservations, it was only for the restaurant area and not for the entertainment, boo. We were seated quickly and never got the complimentary bread/olive oil. The service was quite shotty the whole night. For my entrée I had the Demi glazed chicken. It wasn’t the best chicken I’ve had, the flavor wasn’t bad but it wasn’t outstanding either. The potatoes were super mushy — not great and the vegetables were just ick. My partner had the steak, and that also was not great. For the price of food and drinks, I would not recommend this place. Overpriced, and not great service. There are way better options out there.

Sometimes the biggest talent appears in the smallest places. Don’t Tell Mama is a wonderful, intimate cabaret venue with unbelievably talented artists appearing. The cover charge is $ 10 with a 2 drink minimum. Totally worth it for such a wonderful experience. The back room seats about 50 or so. The stage is small but the talent is huge! In the cabaret, patrons are seated at small, round tables lined up right next to each other. There’s a nice bar and restaurant in front with a reasonably priced menu. This place has been hopping with aspiring Broadway stars and cabaret singers since the 1980’s. Still going strong and I highly recommend that you try the cabaret. There are many acts to choose from. Check out their website. Week nights are a good time to go.

Wow.
