Food is decent for a sports bar. I came here a few times and music is too loud sometimes. The girls on the floor always seem like they’re having fun. Our waitress was the same as last time, she seemed sweet and attentive, both times we asked many questions and she was patient with us. We didn’t get her name but hopefully we will next time we sit in her section. Last night we sat in the back but we were still able to watch the game. Good service, decent food, definitely recommend it. April. :)

Pizza was good and the salad was ok veggies kinda soggy, but the service was terrible! Lots of televisions and that’s why we went in. Really don’t know who our waitress was but we had to ask for a refill on my ice tea and when she brought it back she slammed it on the table. Waited 15 minutes for our bill which was fine because we were watching the Stanley cup finals, but then they just turned it off and put something else on so that really was the deal breaker. Nothing to rave about food wise and defiantly not service wise. On the way back to the note we stopped at White Castle because we were still hungry.

Lots of TVs to catch your sports. Nice bar nothing sepectacular. The food is so so and thats why the lackluster review. If you are coming just for drinks then its a fine bar, but if you are planning to eat than i’d say eat somewhere else before coming or eat after. There are many options in this area. Chicken tenders they just weren’t tasty. They were bland. Artichoke Dip was ok. Also not enough pita given for the amount of dip. On the plus side their happy hour last till 8pm.

Let’s get something straight. This is the best damn bar in midtown/Hell’s Kitchen and if you disagree it’s because ur an asshole. The bartenders are sweethearts, the food is bomb, and who you are reflects the service you get. Don’t be a dick. You’re cool, you get the best service. Ever. And Shane is the best damn bartender that ever existed. If you’re a sweetheart he’ll give you the best evening in NYC. All you need to be is not an asshole and these guys will treat you well. Cheers.

I’ve been here a couple of times and so far every visit has been a good experience. The Mercury Bar is a decent sports bar. It’s pretty spacious with plenty of seating and TV’s to go around. I’ve never been for the supposed«nightlife»(apparently they have a DJ and dancefloor, although I don’t know where they would put it!) but just for lunch/dinner. The first time I was here we wandered in on St. Patrick’s Day for some lunch. We had Shepard’s Pie and a couple pints of Guinness. It was decently crowded there but not overwhelmingly so. The food was delicious and they had some other great specials going on at the time. Service was a bit off but I’m assuming that was because it was well, St Patrick’s Day. The second time I went was last week when family was visiting from out of town. They wanted to hangout in Hell’s Kitchen since it’s close to the Theatre District. We sat down for lunch because they had some great specials. For $ 9.95, we ordered some great dishes. I had the Bacon Avocado Chicken Sandwich which was really great(probably the best thing I’ve had there). It had LTO, cilantro pesto on 7 grain bread. Very good for the price and everything was cooked well. I also tasted their Penne Alla Vodka which was alright. Didn’t have that traditional Italian flair. But yeah. Their pub food is definitely the route to go here. Overall a great spot for food, happy hour or just catching up with friends. Solid spot.

Best wings in hells kitchen. I typically go on Fridays after work or after a night dancing. Kitchen is open till late which is great, beats having to settle for $ pizza or street meat. The staff is absolutely awesome. From all the bar tenders(yes need I say it… all the Shane’s are awesome) the waitress’ you couldn’t buy that kind of service even if you tried. Super friendly, extremely attentive. Does not matter how busy the place is, they always stay on top of their tables. Jess and Maribeth are absolute dolls. Maribeth is especially pleasant always cheerful, always smiling. The music selection… not so great. It’s the entire collection of «one hit wonders» some theme night wouldn’t hurt the place. Other than that it’s a great place to go after work take a few down, get some of best wings in Hell’s Kitchen, and like«Cheers» always feel welcomed!

Everything was top notch. Great to find a goto place in the theatre district. Crab cakes wet off the hook, truffle tater tots were addicting. Guac was ok. Skirt steak tacos were very good. Hot doughnuts were delicious. Drinks were great as well. Service was amazing. Definitely a keeper!

A group of 8 of us came here for the super bowl and had a great time! We all got $ 5 beers(coors, miller, bud light) which is an awesome price. We tried the sangria but wouldn’t recommend it. It was extremely watered down. The regular combo platter and NFL combo platter were a huge hit! Definitely worth the money! The guac was super good, chicken quesadilla was great, pretzel rods were tasty, wings were great, and the fireball mac and cheese balls were delicious! The best part of this place is there are tv screens on EVERY wall, so no matter where you sit or stand, you’ll have a great view. Great place and will definitely be coming back for future sports games!

Had a blast here for a night out with the ladies! Interesting enough their’s no DJ but music is played off of a playlist guided with music videos on flat screens within the restaurant. Very cool 90’s, 2000 mix. I had several Moscow Mules… delicious! I will definitely be back ;)

My BF took me here when we were in NYC. I think he had a lot of fun memories drinking at this chain when he lived in NYC. We had very limited time to grab a bite before our show and so it was fine, the service was quick and good, but no, next time I go to NYC, I will not be going back… There are too many better options!!!

When I sat at the table in the back, with an ample party, the waitress was much more accomadating. We ordered a $ 20 pitcher’s of Margarita’s that lacked tequila taste. I suppose you get what you pay for, and so it taste of Lemon aid ! The waitress was extremely attentive! The Nachos?! Horrible!!! The great service and terrific company compensated ! I may try again !!

I was visiting from California with my NJ family and we went to spend the day in the city on a Saturday. After going to the Maritime museum, we went to Mercury Bar for lunch. It was such a great place to eat! It is a bar and a restaurant. It was a type of bar where it was totally okay to bring kids. The food was amazing! There were about 9 of us and we were very well taken care of. The food came out promptly and the service was great! I had the chicken fajita wrap which was delicious! All the other dishes ordered off their menu by other family members all looked good and tasted great!

Came here for a penn state game, with a group of ten. We were able to reserve a table earlier in the week and it was ready and waiting for us when we got there. This place filled up with lots of fans and they DJ was playing all the school chants etc. my bf and his fellow psu alumni were having a blast and enjoying themselves. Pretty standard bar food and decent service. Considering it was way less insane than tonic, very good chance will be back here for another psu game.

Came here on a scorching hot summers day. Pretty good choice of sports on offer on big widescreen TVs. Unfortunately that was the only good thing about this bar. The tables and chairs are are wonky and sticky. I had the«jumbo» lump crab cake appetiser. These were not jumbo lumps — more just fishy mash served with some corn and peppers and a tasty chipotle mayonnaise. I also ordered a diet coke and it was regular coke. Not impressed.

This is one of my go to bars when I don’t feel like looking for a new bar to go to. It gets a bit crowded then it dies off. It’s a very spacious bar and the service is good. They play good music and drinks. I have not had their food but my friends did and they enjoyed it. THANKS, Mercury!

This was my first time here for a late lunch. I had one of their lunch specials. The bacon avocados chicken sandwich with crispy fries and a pickle spear. This sandwich was delicious.(See picture) It had lettuce, tomato, bacon, avocados, melted cheese, grilled chicken with mayo on toasted bread. I would definitely recommend this sandwich. This place has eight flat screen televisions with two more being large projection televisions behind the bar. This is a go to place if you want to watch sports or any major events. If your looking for drinks and good times, this bar has that covered. The bar has four alcoves stocked with all your favorite liquor. The staff is friendly, fast, and cute. Their draft beer selection is very good and diverse. They offer over 25 beer on tap ranging from Belgium, ciders, local craft beers, and common imports. I also liked theirs selection of music while I ate lunch. It was upbeat with a mixture of rock, indie and some retro classics. Check this place out! I recommend the bacon avocados chicken sandwich paired with a pint of goose island beer. Check in with Unilocal and get a discount. It doesn’t get any better than this! Cheers!

The drinks and food in this place are on point! The only thing I dislike about this place is the lack of room when it gets crowded. It becomes hard to get help and served. You can watch almost any sport in there and normally has one of your favorite teams playing there. I can’t wait to visit again.

I like how everything in Manhattan Unilocalers say its for tourist. Understand the term. A Tourist is someone who is staying for a week or so and looks up as they walk the streets. A visitor is someone who doesn’t have a valid drivers license from the state they are visiting(which is most people in Manhattan). So dont be so quick to label places as «touristy» I thought this place was pretty cool but also very packed. Waited a half hour for a drink cause how many people were here. A great place to hit before going Clubbing.

F.Y.I: If your tired of heaing fist pumping music and want to listen to GOODMUSIC while getting«yo drank on»…then cruise on by to Mercury Bar. The bar was poppin’ on a Thursday night and this place isn’t that big so trying to get to the bar was a mission in itself! The music was off the hook and I loved hearing Hip Hop/Rap/Reggae/Old School Jams! I mean who doesn’t love Biggie, 2Pac, Naughty by Nature, Q-Tip, Tribe… They were definitely playing the jams!!! The atmosphere had a chill vibe and even though it was crowded people were still dancin and bumpin their heads to the music! Gettin a drink took awhile and the bartenders seemed to take their sweet ass time to get you a drink if they didn’t know. I mean they could at least fill the pints of beer to the top… I guess some people just don’t know how to give good«head»(hahahah no pun intended). But real talk, Mercury Bar is a cool lil spot and honestly my favorite part about this place is there’s no BS: NOCOVER, NODRESSCODE, and there’s GOODMUSICALLNIGHT! Deuces Unilocalers…

stumbled into this bar one night walking around looking for a place to hangout with 8+ of us. the music was nice and a very interesting crowd. but of course, we had to take over a big table for us. the waitress was super nice and was fast with the service even though we were a bit ways off the bar. appreciated no lines. though it’s more of a sports bar-feel without the games(but there are TVs.) might go back again if im in the area.

This is a pretty cool place to rock out on a Fri/Sat night(best time to come is around 12−1a.) Granted the cool factor is greatly influenced after consuming some drinks :) *No cover charge, no lines, no dress code! *Over the summer, has become unbearably crowded *Music is good– has mix of old school hip hop, POP, reggae, top 40s, house — no DJ, just random tracks playing with all 10+ flat screens throughout bar playing correlating music videos. *Seating is available(booths, tables, bar), can be hard to come by if getting there late but won’t have to wait too long for something to open up. *No dance floor, it kinda opens up towards back for some space but people usually just dance wherever. *Typical drink prices($ 11 for long island ice tea– decent sized glass) *If you buy pitchers of beer and sangria, bartenders will let you slide on some of the mixed drinks :) * Crowd is 20somethings — 40s; mainly White, but Asian, Black, Hispanics also representin’ *Bathroom is cruddy and usually has no toilet paper, however it’s not the WORST bthrm I’ve ever experienced in the city. It’s not the greatest venue but if you’re with the right people and the liquor is circulating, you can definitely have an awesome time! Negative: there is a stone faced curly haired waitress that will not hesitate to bum rush you with her tuff shoulders as she is moving through the crowd lol. Most of the waitresses are not that friendly– ehh who cares, did you really come for them?

Meh is right. We didn’t come here by choice last night — my girlfriends and I really had our hearts set on Blockheads but there was a two hour wait. We really wanted to sit outside and after wandering about for over a half hour we settled on Mercury Bar since they had happy hour specials until 8 and they had a table right in the open door in front. So part of why I’m bitter is definitely due to the fact that I was anticipating affordable mexican food and good, cheap drinks initially and didn’t get any of that here. We got to the bar with 15 minutes left of happy hour and our waitress disappeared twice. The second time she took half of our groups order and disappeared and came back after 8 and tried to say it was too late for happy hour. Luckily she gave it when we fought back and said that she disappeared and didn’t let everyone order. We got a pitcher of margaritas for $ 20 and the Coors Lights were $ 4 each. The margaritas were gross and I guess maybe strong, but I couldn’t drink mine. The beer was watered down and had a metallic taste to it, maybe they haven’t cleaned the tap in awhile? The food on the other hand was good I’d give it 4⁄5 stars. We all had nachos with chicken which were good and I had one of the sandwich specials which had alfafa sprouts, avocado, fresh mozz and cucumbers on seven grain bread with french fries. The sandwich was messy and small, but tasty. The fries were crispy on the outside and light on the inside — I enjoyed them. My boyfriend devoured his pulled pork sandwich and sweet potato fries. My girlfriends ordered mozz sticks but didn’t eat them all so I’m not sure if they enjoyed them. All in all I probably wouldn’t come back.

This is a decent place. I was visiting New York and went here with some friends for Sunday night trivia. I had the veggie quesadilla, which I thought was pretty good. It’s a bar, so I don’t think people should expect too much. The trivia was really fun and we ended up winning 3rd place! I didn’t have any of the drinks, so I can’t comment on that aspect, but the food and ambiance are pretty typical of a sports bar.

this place is like a hit and miss. you come here some nights and its really good, then you come here other nights and its very bad. I give it three starts because i actually came here on a good night with someone and had an amazing time, but by the end of the night saw that most of my belongings out of my bag were on the floor(looks like someone tried to rob me but couldnt find my stash lol). Overall on a friday night they play pretty great music, ok drinks(kinda expensive unless you drink beer), but its in a nice neighborhood so if you don’t like this place you have other choices.

I’m going to have agree with David W’s post on this one. Didn’t go here by choice either, everybody was rude. Tight space — the patrons left a lot to be desired too. Would be 1-star, but gets an extra star for playing Fashion TV(somehow works really well in bars, it was a staple in every Miami bar when I lived down there and think its great background for a bar)

I’m not sure who really comes here, I’m guessing it’s more of a tourist spot since it’s in midtown and close to a bunch of shows. I didn’t come here by choice, but the food is average at best bar food, and it’s just a really forgettable spot. They did play some decent 80s music videos on the television, but I guess you deserve two stars if that’s the best thing I can say about a place.

I walked by this place yesterday at about 3 o’clock and there was a chipper young girl hanging around outside passing out menus… Having just dropped my bike off at Camrod on 11th avenue, I was carrying my helmet and wearing the same armored jacket I always wear when I ride. I don’t wear this gear to look cool, I wear it so I won’t leaves large chunks of flesh on The West Side Highway. Anyway, There’s a pretty narrow sidewalk in front of this place and this girl was basically forcing her Fox News reporter smile and a menu onto every single person who was unlucky enough to have to pass her by. I generally don’t acknowledge menu hawkers so I said nothing at all and tried to pass her and her friend who were now yapping in the middle of the sidewalk and basically blocking my way. I decided to be nice and took a menu, but not wanting to engage the hawker in an awkward, forced conversation about the incredible menu she was trying to shove down my throat, I stayed silent and just kept walking. After I got about 5 feet away the girl yells out: «yeah, you’re soooo cool dude» in a snotty little sing song voice. Really!!! Is this what we’ve come to in Hell’s Kitchen? I have to get insulted by some perky, 19 year old failed actress for not having a conversation with her because she handed me a flyer!!! Is this SOHO? Is this f-ing Greenwich Connecticut? Do we really need a another generic, bland, cookie cutter bar in this neighborhood that hires snotty little girls who will INSULT you for taking a flyer and not acting super excited about it? AVOID this dump at all costs. It represents everything that’s wrong with New York City nightlife. I’ve lived in Manhattan for 12 years and have seen many great bars(Siberia, Holland Tavern, passerby, Tonic…)close only to be replaced with these boring, pathetic, midwestern college town facsimiles of hipness. I have never in my life been mocked by someone who was(rather desperately) trying to get my business, so for this fact alone I will now forever boycott this bar for the malignant cancer of lameness on Hell’s Kitchen that it is, and will urge every single person I know to do the same. Frankly, unless you’re a gay bashing frat boy from Indiana you probably will too. ***BTW this is a CHAINBAR, they own THREE locations for Joshua Tree, a nightmare called«Tonic»(not to be confused with Tonic on the LES which is sadly now closed, even though these chuckleheads opened up their Tonic when the LES Tonic was still in business) and another freaking Mercury bar right around the block. They basically stole the names for both these bars too. Tonic on the LES, and the Mercury lounge. I’ll bet the board members thought long and hard about what name to rip off for this one. This is basically the Duane Reade of bars. I urge you all to BOYCOTT. Take back NYC nightlife from the corporate shills!
