Found this place on vacation to the city. Just a few blocks from the hotel. Coffee is solid, as are the Barista skills.(I watched him pour a nice Swan). Walking into a place with a SYNESSO is always a good sign. It immediately became my morning start throughout my stay. They have a few quality pastries but focus on what they are good at — coffee. Don’t miss this place if you are in the neighborhood!

Nice quaint spot in the neighborhood, coffee is decent but it gets crowded. But if u go on a weekday morning/afternoon, it’s nice to get a spot by the window and ppl watch!

Quite possibly the best latte in NYC. Phenomenal. The people here are great. It’s super convenient from where I work but I would come out of my way for these lattes!

I tried the iced coffee and scones, both of which were delicious. I would definitely want to come back when I’m craving scones! I wished the bar on the side was wider. In theory, I would like to do work here, but the space is too cramped for working comfort. But if you’re just looking for a cute neighborhood café to take a break at, this is great!

This is one of my favourite coffee places in the city. It’s centrally located but not in the middle of all of the 8th Avenue crowds. Wonderful coffee, delicious pastries, comfortable atmosphere, free wifi, friendly baristas — you can’t beat it.

We had decided one of the things we really wanted to do in New York is try all the different coffee places that we could. Frisson was not on our list… but it was in our path. Thank goodness, it was. We went in two separate times during our nine-day stay for excellent cappuccinos. We had just recently become coffee snobs before we went on our trip.(There was a secret surgery involved with incantations). So we just didn’t want to settle for just any old coffee. It didn’t matter if we had to trek out of our way to get the good stuff. Frisson was the good stuff. Great service. And maybe we lucked out because the place was a perfect rest stop on our walking tours.

In the city and looking for a place to work this morning. This place is perfect… great latte w/almond milk and delicious cannele. Wifi works perfectly, plenty of outlets to keep my laptop charged and it isn’t too loud where I am overly distracted. Only thing I would say is that they should add chai to the menu. I was craving a dirty chai but they weren’t able to make it. The latte is good though so I’m still giving 5-stars! UPDATED: They don’t have a bathroom… told me to go to Starbucks down the street. I guess I can’t work from here very long. Taking a star away.

Love this place! Wifi, latte art, fresh delicious pastries, power strips, good music, chill folks. I’m a Seattle transplant and I just moved in down the street, this will definitely be my regular coffee spot.

It’s close to Times Square so I initially thought«omg, it’s gonna be so touristy,» but it’s definitely not! You walk just three blocks away from there and suddenly it’s quiet and you see this little coffee shop chilling there — I could tell it was going to be good the moment I walked inside. It’s tiny, but there’s a good amount of seating, I’d say it sits about 20 people total. Definitely has that«tiny, cool, tucked-away coffee shop» feel that I like. I ordered a vanilla latte to stay and the barista made me a beautiful swan for latte art. The raspberry scone was also delicious and was the perfect sized snack to go with coffee. Only downside: no bathroom :( You can tell they really put care into their drinks and the staff was really nice, too! I am happy I walked about 30 minutes to get here ’cause now that I found this little gem, I’ll definitely be back! Staff/Service: 5 stars Coffee quality: 4.5 stars Ambiance: 5 stars

3.5 stars if I’m being honest, but I’ll round up. This café is super close to Port Authority and Times Square, but far enough from both to not have to worry about all the hustle and bustle of the NYC crowds. It’s tiny, but they have plenty of seating for what it’s worth without feeling overcrowded. The artwork is really cool, and the staff is personable and quick with orders. I ordered a latte with almond milk. It didn’t taste any different than other lattes I’ve tried and the latte art I got definitely wasn’t as Unilocal-worthy as other pictures I’ve seen on this page(not that the latte art was a major issue). I paid $ 4.50 for a small plus an extra 50 cents for almond milk, which is pretty standard for a smaller café in the city but still a bit high for my taste. The rest of the menu was limited. They offer fairly standard coffee drinks and limited baked good/pastry options. No bathroom either. I’m glad I gave this place a chance after reading so many positive reviews, but I’ll probably go elsewhere next time I’m looking for a café in the area.

Maybe I’ve been accustomed to going to NYC places without NYC prices. It was $ 6.50 for a small iced coffee with a shot of expresso… yikes. Per the owner’s comment on my review, it looks like I was charged incorrectly. $ 1.50 isn’t going to make or break me, but as an out of towner, there’s nothing that can be done to fix this. In any case, the coffee was strong, did the trick and hit the spot. The service was friendly and quick. There was a nice array of sweeteners and to-go lids. If you aren’t looking to stick around for the atmosphere and coffee shop experience, it might just be worth it to hit up one of the many nearby Starbucks versus going local. If you do stick around, beware that they do not have a restroom. What I originally thought was an overpriced coffee shop, was an error prone coffee shop. Next!

I found a new favorite coffeeshop! The coffee is good, the wifi works, and the environment is nice and quiet for getting some work done or to read a book or paper. Oh and i was about to forget: they gave me a free croissant!

What a lovely place! Like a hidden meadow! This is a tiny little coffee shop serving great drinks. I might have come at a magic hour, but it wasn’t packed… It was a perfect sit down spot for a morning coffee.

I am so happy to find this cute place secretly hidden in the middle of street. It literally has everything I was looking for as a coffee shop — amid ambience, smell of coffee beans and even paintings on the wall. As usual, I grabbed a small cup of Americano; however was also attracted by their gluten-free pastries — gonna test it out next time visiting. TGIF.

Saturday morning and wanted to try a different coffee spot from the usual. Frisson offers your basic variety of coffee and an extremely small selection of baked goods. What they lack in variety however they make up for in quality. Split a hot chocolate($ 4), latte($ 4.50), and a canele($ 3). Hot chocolate is more milky than chocolatey, but evened out really well with the super dense/sweet canele. Ended it with the coffee, which made with just enough milk to accommodate the heavy bitterness. Café itself is tiny, but well lit via the large window up front(if you can get a seat there, a great place to people watch). Could see myself coming back to try their iced options.

Frisson Espresso is a great option in Hell’s Kitchen to grab a coffee and a pastry. I found the service quite friendly and the coffee great in taste. This coffee shop is quite small however there is sufficient seating options. It can get quite busy but if you can find a couple seats it is a good place to bring a friend for coffee and some conversation. I will surely be back for my caffeine fix.

Awesome place for coffee in the theatre district. We were looking for a good cup of joe from a local coffee joint. Thanks to Unilocal,we found this little gem. The place is a little, but damn near every local joint in New York, is on the cozy side. It absolutely works for this place. The décor is straight coffee shop, but not in a chain commercial type of way. The bartistas are super cool, great personalities, fun, outgoing, and great personal taste and style. And oh yeah, did I mention they make a kick ass cup of joe? I had a café latte with an extra shot of espresso and it was pure heaven. I love coffee, and there is a lot of average coffee out there, this place serves exceptional coffee. If you want a good cup of coffe, you found your place. I highly reccomend making your way here to enjoy an absolutely superior cup of coffee.

It was cold and raining and early. And you cared for me. My wife and I had a long weekend trip to the city and stayed at an AirBNB a few doors down. I passed it during our musings and bookmarked this sweet little place in my head. Woke up this morning and walked down here for a quick cup. They weren’t quite open but let me in anyways with warm smiles. I ordered two simple drinks and was engulfed by the inviting and peaceful getaway. Smooth jazz and warm wood trim. The latte was exquisite. Truly the best I’ve ever had. What a treat. I didn’t know I could like coffee more than I did before, but now I know. Come for an unbelievable cup and stay for the smiles.

Love how cozy and calm this coffee shop is, especially being steps off of Times Square. It has a nice ambience and reminds me of a coffee shop back home –Portland, Oregon– Came here based on its Unilocal reviews and I’m glad I did! I got an iced latte and canele. Unfortunately my canele was a bit under baked and gooey in the middle. It has a good taste, just wasn’t baked properly. Coffee is great. The baristas are both friendly and cheerful which I’ve found hard to find in this city.

Frisson is a very cute Espresso café! It has a couple of bar-like with stools for enjoying your favorite beverage, one facing the street view. Definitely very hi-end coffee offered here. Great service with smiles, and they also provide their own branded coffee beans too! Great neighborhood coffee place in Manhattan West Side! Until then, Cheers! ~ :p
