A very sweet place for chatting. Warm and clean. The dessert looks so nice. And taste fantastic. Very close to the Wall Street. Wanna come again.

Hidden little gem within the Financial District. A little hard to find as it’s located deep in an alleyway. Even with directions it was hard to locate especially if you’re not a local. A short walking distance from Battery Park. Good selection of pastries and sandwiches. It’s small but very cozy with a European feel. The staff were very friendly. Just stopped by to have a cup of coffee so can’t comment on the food. Will be back next time.

I have to give a five star. The staff and the food was outstanding. Can’t not beat this at all It was Christmas Eve and my friends birthday. Came here after randomly finding it. And I must say I don’t regret it one bit. We came in trying to find her a birthday cake which we did. It was the starwberry one(forgot the name) But it was amazing we all definitely enjoyed the cake and most of all the workers. We were given free macarons and fruit cups. They were fun and outgoing with us, had a couple of laughs and the staff treated us like we’ve known them for long. I most definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a good time and some amazing food to go with it.

Eu ameiiii!!! Expresso bem tirado, coisa rara por aqui! Doces deliciosos e equilibrados! Ambiente bonito e aconchegante! Pertinho de Wall Street e no coração de NY histórica! Alias, para quem entender essa parte de Manhattan sem ter que pagar um guia, seguem minhas dicas:

Their giant $ 3 macaron was a good deal but underwhelming. Their $ 8 saumon fume(smoked salmon sandwich) was beyond excellent both in quality and quantity. EDIT: in response to the comment from the business: I had the pistachio one and overall, the texture was a bit harder/felt drier throughout. Would make sure to stop by again to check out other savory items when I’m in town next!

If this patry shop was in Paris it would close! Everything looks great, but when you eat it you can see they are skimping on quality. Custard cream is not the real thing. Just imitation custard. I went 4 times in the hope that maybe some pastries would be good and twice I couldn’t eat it as it didn’t taste good. Since you see their pastries in several places now, it is hard to look and remember the amazing Italian and French pastries but can’t eat it because the look is there but the flavor is not. So disappointed at this place. It is always like this, they know Americans have no clue on how real patisserie should taste like so they skimp on quality, make more profit and customers are still happy. But why not make at least a few options for people with taste and the rest for the masses happy with anything? Where are all the French and Italian pastry chefs? We need you here.

I’m giving this location of Financier 4 stars because of the weekend staff and the overall quality of its coffee — the weekend staff deserve 5 stars, but the weekday staff deserve exactly 5 stars fewer than that. I’ve had the unique opportunity to see diametrically opposed approaches to customer service at this establishment based on my request that«only one pump of syrup» be added to my Pumpkin Spice Latte due to a fairly common dietary restriction. If you’re Weekend Jasmine, you react to this request with such thoughtful concern that you insist on making the drink yourself to prevent any sloppiness that might trigger an uncomfortable afternoon for me(because it only takes one sip). If you’re Weekday Bitchface(don’t know her real name), on the other hand, you react with a disgusted scowl even before I’ve had a chance to put you through the wringer with my order. She didn’t even let me finish though before whirling around to begrudgingly prepare it — and when I added the instruction about«one pump,» she flat-out snarled at me without a word… then proceeded to fill *a third* of the cup with pumpkin spice syrup. There was ice in the cup, but still — a third. When I pointed out that this looked like«more than one pump,» she threw it into the sink almost violently as if I was the world’s most unreasonably demanding customer and laboriously prepared a second one. I was visibly not happy about this visit, but the cashier who rang me up offered nothing but an idiotic grin as he gave me my total. So I never went back during the week and don’t plan to. I work with stressed-out attorneys all day, every day(and I’m one of them), so the last thing I need during one of my too-few, too-short breaks is to feel as if I’m imposing on a business by merely walking through its doors.(I instead walk a quarter mile further to the location on Cedar.) That said, I will happily return on weekends because Jasmine, Jeremy and at least one other whose name I didn’t catch are better at their jobs than most people and have set the bar just as high for customer service as the weekday staff sets it low.

Love love love! This location is spacious and bright and I’m definitely coming back. Friendly staff and even better pastries, an array of beverages and easy pick-up meals(salads, quiches). I had an iced tea that was just the perfect brew – it didn’t taste like its been steeping for hours. The macarons are larger than anywhere else, and a great gift for a coworker or a treat after a long day at work. If you are staying in, this is a lovely little spot for a coffee-date or a breakfast meeting. I hear the almond croissants are excellent first thing in the morning.

basic pastry shop, had the extra large macaroons, they were very sweet and the texture did not reflect that of a french macaroon. Will definetly fix your sweet tooth when you are in the area.

This is a great place for some quality coffee and baked goods. I really liked the pistachio macaron. I had just recently come back from a trip to Paris and was doubting that I would be impressed by macarons sold at a bakery in FiDi, but the macarons at financier were very tasty! Friends have told me that they enjoy doing work here, but I personally found the environment to be less suitable for that. The room felt a bit hot and muggy.

I was in the area for a meeting, and had some time to kill. I used Unilocal to search for«breakfast» and this place was the #1 spot for this area. It’s a cute place. Feels trendy. It’s a hip little coffee place that sells pastries and macaroons. French macaroons — not the coconut things you’re thinking about. - I got a coffee, an almond croissant, and a banana-caramel macaroon. Coffee was good. They give you this teeny madeline with it. That was actually good too. The croissant was nice — not fluffy like you’d expect. I think it was made the day before or something. Speaking of old food — the macaroon was a total letdown. Didn’t taste like banana or caramel. It tasted chemical-y. And it wasn’t fresh. I’ve had French macaroons before and they should be light and airy and delicious. This was more like a brick. Which was sad because I was going to buy a pack to bring home, but definitely not now. - It’s a cute place to get a coffee and rest. At least the a/c is cranked. NYC is muggy!!!

Não foi meu lugar favorito! O wifi não funciona bem! Pedi uma limonada e estava salgada! Isso mesmo, S-A-L-G-A-D-A! O local é fofo e agradável! Mas não brilhou meus olhos…

$ 8 for a small salad and a slice of quiche, which seemed like a good portion since I wasn’t too hungry. I threw in an extra large macaron too since they looked so fun. The garden salad was good, but quite small and left me wanting more and the quiche was nicely warmed up but way too salty. I can see how Financier Patisserie has something special going with their quiche, if only it wasn’t too salty. The macaron was way too sweet, it was actually disgusting and I didn’t finish it. I think the idea of making things overly sweet and overly sugary is to appeal to the taste of some, but it really made the experience unauthentic and the food not very good. They do have a nice sitting area as well as a nice patio, which was really nice.

This place is literally in my own backyard, but I didn’t give it a try until recently. Having travelled extensively throughout France I’m admittedly a bit of a pastry snob, so I was skeptical about how good this place was. Well thankfully my skepticism was given a good kick in the ass — the pastries here are fantastic! The chausson(Apple Turnover) is LOADED with delicious apple filling. The pain au chocolat is light, flakey, buttery, and with just the right amount of dark chocolate. And my new favorite is the sugar free scone — which is now a part of my regular morning ritual.

This place is meh. The coffee tastes a bit different — but maybe that’s because the BF and I are from California and Texas. The scone is deceiving. It’s not sweet at all but more savory — and it has an odd taste to it. But the texture is great.

O lugar é muito fofo mas pecou no serviço. Café frio, talheres de plástico e café no copo de papel tiraram a graça do lugar.

Tiramisu was mediocre and pricey, and lemon pastry was even worse. Transaction Amount $ 1.43 Total Spent $ 1.43 PS they seem to have quickly decided against that whole madeleine-with-every-item idea, and were pretty nasty to a woman who asked. Staff was also easily shanghai’d by distractions

I’m not a big coffee fan but my boyfriend is and he absolutely hated the latte here, to me it tasted really bland. BUT the tea I had was refreshing and delicious and the macaroons are heavenly. We got that and a key lime tartelette which was out of this world. The baked goods here seem to be the best part. Definitely worth a try if you have a sweet tooth.

This is a review based on takeout. A coworker’s birthday = the need for cake. Actually any office should never have to justify their need for cake. Another coworker ran over to Financier Patisserie to grab some cake to celebrate. One was the chocolate mousse cake(layer upon layer of chocolate) the other was a raspberry cheesecake(perfect all-around). Everyone enjoyed both and at $ 25 per cake(and each feeds a decent amount of people AND it’s pre-sliced) you really can’t go wrong.

Delicious café in the financial district. Very convenient to grab yourself some pastries, coffee, or flavored tea. Pretty much all of their pastries are ridiculously delicious. They have lots of seatings as well to have a nice discussion with colleagues working in the area.

Netter Laden.

For better or worse I come here a lot. I think it’s one of the better well rounded cafes in the area despite being a chain. I’ve never had the food here but I’ve seen others order it and it looked fine. What Financier does have is sugar. There are lots of pastries and cakes and pies and things you don’t need. Also, you get a little madeline with each drink. Calories everywhere. Also, for those of you who care about size, the macaroons are 2+ inches wide. The pistachios ones are my favorite. I drink tea and so I get the breakfast tea which is ok, I think it’s the Mighty Leaf brand. We’ve also bought cakes and pies here for the special occasion or two at work. The line can be bad at times, but generally it moves pretty quickly. Something for everyone here for sure.
