I’ve been dying to get a pie since last year and I’ve finally got a chance to order from the truck at 46th and 6th. I got the vegan curry savory pie and it was hot in the case. Very flavorful and just enough kick. nothing a little Cholula couldn’t make hotter. the gentleman was very nice and cordial. he gave me a cookie which definitely perked my lunch up! Will be getting more from them in the future

It’s another day in the office in downtown Manhattan and it’s almost that time again. You know that time when you have to find something good to eat without breaking your wallet. Good news is there are plenty of good food cart/trucks out here around Hanover Square, bad news– most of them have long lines that’ll take forever to get to! As my co-worker and I were browsing and discussing our food options, we saw the DubPie Truck. I don’t know anything about the truck but my coworker was like they were voted one of the best food trucks in NYC. With that said, I know I have to try it. First look at the pies, they are nothing unusual, mini 5″ meat pie and it’s $ 7-$ 8 per pie. After looking at the menu, things got a bit more interesting. The filling ranges from your everyday Chicken Pot Pie to your not-so-common Thai Chicken Curry Pie. It’s a bit expensive for a mini pie but after seeing that Thai Chicken Curry Pie… I HADTOGETIT!!! The people running the truck were very friendly, one of the girl on the truck told us that she’s new and told us how she started and how she enjoy working on the Dub Truck. I thought it was very nice of her to share and it gave a bit of personality to the truck. First things I notice is the way they pack their pies, they actually use a heat insulated bag(like the ones used for hot wings when you order pizza) and I think that’s smart and an excellent way to make sure their pies are eaten hot! The pie itself is SMALL but does pack some BIG texture and flavor. We all know when it comes to a good pie, it’s pretty much all about that crust– at least to me and I say Dubpie did not disappoint. The crust was DELICIOUS! It’s what you would expect from grandma, the crust was soft, flaky, buttery and rich(again it helps that the pie was inside the thermo bag so it was still hot– not warm HOT). The filling was good, the curry flavor was strong, and the small pieces of chicken were well marinated! Now I only wish the made the pie a little bigger and a little more fillings in there so it can justify the $ 8 paid. Overall: I like Dubpies, it’s delicious with excellent flavor and taste! However the pie is small(I can probably eat two) and the price tag is a bit high for me. If only the pies are a little bigger then I’m sure this truck will do very well around the area.

Beef and cheese, So yummy. My first experience with dub pies was in Red Hook Brooklyn. So I was excited and happy to see the food truck in DUMBO.

Website lists hours of operation as 7am-3pm, with no indication that they may open later. Truck has been sitting there since I came into the office early this morning. Just went down at 10:45am for late breakfast. Truck isn’t operating. Bogus to have planned meals around operating hours only to get squat.

My coworker and I were recently exploring the summer setup that Water Street has been doing. Each day, a bunch of food trucks park at Old Slip Park and suddenly you have a choice of close to a dozen different types of foods. We had our eye on Dub Pies but decided to wander a bit. Eventually we came back and we were not disappointed. While we didn’t try the actual pies, we each had a spinach roll and a Pellegrino(extra points for them having this!). The spinach roll was perfect. The dough was flaky and the filling was good without making you uncomfortably full. All that for $ 6 is a very good deal in this part of Manhattan. All of the pies also looked tasty, especially the Thai Chicken Curry one. I’ll have to try that next time.

A happy addition to the trucks parked in Hanover Square. All kinds of pies savory and sweet. I’ve only tried the savory pies twice now and I have enjoyed them immensely. They come small or large. I went large on the shepherds pie. It was a delicious satisfying dose of comfort food. Seems popular as they were running out of other pies quickly. My only complaint is I wish the large was bigger or that they offer an Xl pie. The guy on the truck was very friendly. They also have coffee and it’s the good stuff not some horrible burnt coffee. Lot if people were leaving with coffee so it must be good. I hope he goes to midtown as I’m leaving FIDI for midtown.
