Looks super sketchy as you’re walking in but the music is cool and the bathrooms are impressive!

The music is a lot better than the last review I wrote. It’s a great place to party. It goes hard and it goes late. This is a place you don’t want to arrive before midnight. If you’re luck you will make friends and the party will go till sunrise.

Fun place. Went on a Thursday evening with a few friends as they were just opening. It was pretty empty at the time, but there was a DJ I was really feeling that was spinning remixes of 80’s hits. We basically had the place to ourselves and danced our asses off. The servers were also getting down to the music which was also fun to look at. The décor is pretty funky which I liked. Wasn’t really feeling that I had to pay 11 bucks for a beer, but hey, wasn’t surprised given the venue and area. I’d go again.

So dated, its like a Russian model mobster joint, but dated. The entrance smelled bad, the trucks picking up the garbage of that hidden garage, while a good looking hostess asked us for a 230 dollar boucher that mysteriously they gave to the barman. Their system sucks, they photocopied our driving licenses in the bar in front of us. Security was rude and loud, The vodka was super strong. If this is trendy and cool, i do not know what to think. The guy in the bathrooms was yelling like crazy, very loud. Everybody had a big ego. Not cool. The DJ was like a teenager house party, with his groupies around him. The models with their high high heels were spinning like crazy. There is nothing worse than a straight club, it can be hell. This is the least cool place on earth.

Got to love straight bars. They had a «no shorts» policy even though there was no line and the place looked dead. Let’s see how long they will stay open.

BOOOOOO! Came here on a Monday night to see Rodger Sanchez with friends all who of which work in the industry(Vegas) only to be turned away by the DOUCHBAG doorman. How do you do that to «family»?? He suggested that I email my boss to email him, and wait outside of the club(mind you, it’s 2am on a MONDAYNIGHT) with my thumb up my ass and wait for a response. Uhm. No. He refused to work with us, leading to a massive disappointment, I love Rodger Sanchez! He would not have stood for this wanna be boocheyass attitude, and trust me… most West Hollywood clubs don’t even carry the attitude this guy had. So needless to say, I will not be back. RUDE.

I went to a Fashion Week party here in February. As someone who has partied extremely way too hard, but is now into other stuff, it was kinda like hanging out with the Ghost of Christmas Past. All the tropes were traipsed: –the inventive, broke-down entrance that makes you feel special for knowing that the seediness is actually the work of a CitiBike-riding art director –the open bar with the super-sweet signature drink of the night that contains little to no alcohol, but bitches still be acting mad drunk ehhhh –the mess of winter coats piled high on leather couches, people rifling through fifty identical black wool pea coats to find their own –the nightlife photographers, oh man, i’d forgotten about them! The weird power dynamics of who is bestowing whom with social cache. –frickin’ heels man. –yelling into your friend’s ear to be heard. Or worse, when she shouts into your ear so loudly that it hurts something deep in your head, like you know you’re permanently damaging something in there, but you still can’t hear what she’s saying, and the night is long and the floor is sticky, so with a final flutter of your mascara-laden lashes, you admit defeat and nod and smile ASIF you heard. –And now you are a scoundrel. –90s music spun by tiny popsicle stick-limbed people wearing giant headphones –scanning, oh all the scanning! you scan, i scan, we all scan. looking for what? faces we recognize. bodies that titillate. dead eyes and thigh gaps. sizing people up with recklessly long side-eye. –and of course, in the center of it all, refusing to be snuffed out, to be grown out of, to be matriculated into something more sustainable, is your teenage heart. the one that hopes and despairs in turn with every beat. shuddering at the sudden realization that you might be the ugliest, lamest, least cool person in the whole place and everybody knows it. then you catch your reflection in one of the mirrored walls and the lighting is just right and suddenly you are thoroughly, violently, magnificent and full of loathing for the masses around you –why are you slumming it like this, you handsome devil. and of course in the next second, you are in the tar pits of self-worth again, reckoning with some new inferiority. This is the ocean of adolescence This is the metronome of self-image This is what lies buried under your sensible puffy coat That makes you look like a sofa You are forever fifteen point five years old And the Electric Room understands that Give-up on the grow-up You will always care About your hair.

I think the Dream Downtown and the whole 9th&16th Street area is some of the coolest spots in the city. Tao, Electric Room, No.8, PHD… its all here. I like Electric Room because its entrance makes me feel like I’m going somewhere really different. Yes its as sceney as any of the other aforementioned spots, but Electric Room by virtue of its entrance alone seems less so. Everything else is pretty standard… the smokiness, great DJ and lighting, nice giant bathrooms… I like the phone charging stations which is nice. As per usual, beautiful people. I’ve been many times, but sometimes one forgets to review… One thing to know, though, is its not particularly big. Its actually rather small. Now, the area doesn’t have expansive spots, but it is smaller… so if you’re with a big group, may want to venture elsewhere.

Very interesting and intriguing entrance. This place is relatively small and missing some class. Washrooms were really nice!

Ok so either my standard are too high or I went to this place at the wrong time(which btw was at 1am Sunday morning)!! Having heard so much about the electric room and the cool crowd it attracts we decided to check this place out; thankGod for our lucky stars we went to PHD before coming here. To sum up the experience it was like having a super bad dessert after a fab dinner. First of all it was half empty… On a busy sat night half empty? Secondly it smelt dingy which was not a good welcome. We stayed for 5 minutes and scanned the place, wanted to like it atleast but NAH, it wasn’t what we had imagined It to be, so we left. The décor is wonderful but the crowd wasn’t :-( I think they should up their game they need to!

The Electric Room is sexy and exclusive point blank. I went there two Sundays ago with a promoter and group of friends. It was rather low key and not crowded but I was staying in the city that night so I was able to make it a late night. We had a table behind the DJ and service was great. Whatever we needed arrived timely and clean. The music was really good, played everything from rap remixes to some EDM. I definitely liked it more than Marquee.

Came here on a late Sunday night with one friend and had no issues getting in. Initially, we waited in the café that is directly next to Electric Room, which was part of Dream Downtown. My promoter and his friend, also a promoter, were waiting together for a crowd of people with whom we would enter. The walk to the bar is down a grunge, parking garage that is decorated in spray paint and an electric bolt by the entrance. It looked rather sketchy, but gave a hipster feel for the night. The bouncers let us in with no problem after a few minutes waiting. The entrance is a bit confusing, but there was a small coat room where we were able to place our jackets for $ 4. After that, we entered the actual venue through a curtain. At first, the place seemed dead. There was a live DJ playing pretty good music, the tables and lounge chairs were high quality and the walls were decorated with hipser-like art. There is also a full bar all the way right in the back. However, we didn’t purchase any drinks because the promoter had a table waiting for us with free drinks. Our table consisted of a bottle of Jack and SVEDKA with multiple bottles of water on ice, orange juice, cranberry juice, a couple red bulls and beers. It didn’t take long before the place got packed. The crowd was definitely younger and chic. No one came across as pretentious or rude, it was a pretty laid back Sunday chill spot. I would consider this spot to be an in between club and lounge, providing that the space isn’t too large. Apparently this a celebrity hot-spot and I could see why, seeing as it is very laid back, chill spot. It seems like a good pregame place before heading up to PHD for a more upbeat night. Be sure to get a picture of the«All Evil Things» neon sign as it draws guests to the lounge. I will definitely come back here – I wouldn’t mind doing so on a Sunday again.

Came here at 2am on a sunday. My friend and I had a lousy experience with a promoter at 1oak, which was overbooked. We just wanted to escape and head over to PH-D, but it was closed. So, we asked the valet guys standing outside the dream hotel where they would recommend we try. They directed us to Electric Room. Once you go past the extremely steep ramp(with no railings) in your high heels, you will reach the doormen. Very friendly people, they let us in no problem without a promoter. There was nobody in line at 2am on sunday. MUSIC: top 40s, which includes house and hip hop. CROWD: Young 20s mixed with older people(30s, 40s) who look like they are guests at the dream hotel. Primarily white. SPACE: This place is about the size of a divebar, but far from actually being one. The lighting is very dark and blue. Overall: I actually really liked the electric room. If you like: smaller spaces, as opposed to nightclubs, yet don’t like a boring tavern feel, then come to the electric room. I guarantee you’ll have a spiced up night!

We started in the upstairs lounge paying for overpriced drinks because we thought we were rich. After I started to see double we headed down stairs to the electric room. The jams were so on point when I first got there… then they started playing some awful music so I proceeded to get more intoxicated. Very crowed and expensive… full of beautiful people but douchey. Its weird. No one dances… they just swing from side to side.

Small and cozy room downstairs in the Dream Hotel. Came here for a work event, so I was graced by an open bar, but saw that most of the liquor they had was of quality(no bad rails). There are several couches throughout the room, so if you get there early enough I’m assuming you can snag a good seat until reservations come into effect. In addition, food was served, and it was incredible. I’m not sure what the extent of ordering food down there typically is, but if you can, get the tacos.

Through the black curtain with your electric glow in the dark lighting bolt on your wrist you enter into a magical world of British deep and wide couches and a DJ that spins eclectic music in their little base next to the door. Its quite dark in here despite its name. More relaxing than dancing occurs here but you have a lot more space than the upstairs alternative of PhD. We got a few drinks here and people watched. I ended up turning down a guy carrying a shiny hand grenade under his iced drink. There was a lot of black. I don’t know if the people get any better at this establishment but I didn’t come here to mingle with anyone but my friend. They certainly make for good stories in the morning after.

Beautiful, small and very selected top notch crowd! Great music too! By far the best club I’ve been to in NY like ever! Even the bathroom décor is amazing! Must go to!
