In a word —- GREAT ! My wife and I had early reservations on a Friday night. We had a young waiter who was experienced beyond his years. He was polite, attentive, asked great questions so he could really help us with our selections, and was just fun ! We started with a beet salad which was enough for both of us. Great seasoning and flavor. We both ordered the filet with a steak Diane sauce. It was outstanding — just the right blend of spices with a nice wine reduction. The meat quality was outstanding. Had some type of apple /ice cream dessert that was outstanding. All in all —- just a great experience

Loved it here! — We came here for my sister’s birthday. We had a group of 12 people. The waiter and service were very accomodating. I thought everything was delicious. We had a variety of things from oysters, to tuna tartare, to crab cakes(SOGOOD). All of the seafood was so fresh! We were not rushed, we had a good time and the waiter made sure to bring out a dessert for my sister. it can get packed fast so I would definitely recommend a reservation. The place is not that big but it’s cozy and has a cool atmosphere.

I came here for restaurant week with a friend really late at night around 10:30pm. There was a huge line outside since Marble Lane is a part of the Dream Hotel which also features an amazing outdoor pool area and rooftop club, Ph-D. Alas this review is of Marble Lane, and in short I would say the atmosphere and service were all top notch, but the food was lacking. I had just picked up my friend at Penn Station and he was headed out the next day for a week long camping trip in Hawaii so we walked by all the club goers who were dressed to the nines with his 60lb camping backpack, a sleeping bag, and casual clothes. Nonetheless, we told the bouncer that we were there for the restaurant and he redirected us to the maitre d’ and we were quickly seated. Atmosphere I had chosen this restaurant partially because the interior design is stunning, and my friend was an industrial designer. I must say the atmosphere was elegant, welcoming, and fun all at the same time. The background music was a mix of top 40 and had a bit of a clubby vibe to it but it was not loud. I also noticed the restaurant bar was fairly busy despite there only being 1 or 2 tables occupied for food service. Service Our waiter and overall service was awesome. Most nice restaurants would probably give us a second look or not let us in at all given our attire and gear, but everyone at Marble lane was extremely welcoming. We tried coat checking our jackets and his camping gear and they did it without hesitation. I usually refrain from making late night reservations since I know how annoying it can be for both the cooks and waiters to take on service near the end of their shifts but it couldn’t this time. I appreciated the patience our waiter had and he looked like he was genuinely having fun while serving us, as he took the time to do a little dancing on the steps when one of his favorite songs came on. Food Both of us chose the filet as our entrée and we ordered additional roasted potatoes, asparagus, a bottle of wine, and dessert. The only thing that really disappointed me was the filet as it was small, a bit overcooked(I asked for medium), and the sauce was not particularly special. However, everything else was great and I will definitely take the chance to try Marble Lane again.

It is a steak house but I had the tuna. It was a big piece, served rare. Delicious. Also tried several appetizers including oysters and the shrimp cocktail. All top quality and fresh. Lots of great choices in the area but this place was enjoyable.

Absolutely Gorgeous Venue! My +1 and I were here for WeddingSalon bachelorette party planning event. This is the third event I attended sponsored by WeddingSalon and I must say I was most impressed by this place. From entering the building to coat check to check in, it was the most organized one yet. There was security guards along the way to point you to the right room. There were even guards pointing you to the free coat check area right before entering the elevator. One guard was in charge of leading us upstairs to the top floor where you are surrounded by floor to ceiling windows and semi-balcony(indoor) seatings/tables. Once we entered, we were greeted by 3 girls who quickly checked us in and gave us a goodie bag claim card. We rushed to the bar and were given complimentary drinks(8 different skinnygirl cocktails to choose from. even white and red wine!) Before I got a chance to take my first sip, I saw a GIANT tower filled with red velvet, vanilla, and chocolate bite size cupcakes(also delicious chocolate covered strawberries which they quickly ran out). I couldn’t help but stationed myself there for a good 15 mins before heading over for my hair makeover. Towards the back, there was a platform set up for Beyonce loving DJ(he literally played every track Beyonce ever made — including all Destiny’s child). My +1 date and I had so much fun catching up, sipping our drinks, eating sweets, chatting about my wedding details — while enjoying the panoramic view of the city. The only complaint is that I wish the room itself is on a higher floor. then we get a more dramatic view of the city. Nevertheless, this place is just the perfect place to host any celebration! Before leaving, I saw some ppl ordered some munchies. and they all looked so yummy. will def be back to check out their full menu.

We were early for our table upstairs, so we decided to sit down and give them a try. Take this review with a grain of salt as it was on a «night out» and might be very different if you’re here when the club isn’t open. Mac & cheese dish is large enough for 4 people to share. Excellent blend of cheeses, pasta was cooked perfectly, nice golden toasted crust on top. Personally I prefer a drier type of sauce/cheese, but you’ll still be asking for bread to dip into it. Bibb salad was a simple and basic salad, it did not stand out. Skirt steak was way over seasoned and cooked at too low of a heat. It should have a crust on the outside and still be pink in the middle, but my large portion was drenched in a overpowering sauce and was borderline roast beef in gravy. Pappadelle was the best dish we had, they seem to do pasta well here. Fingerlig mash was basic but well executed and seasoned lightly with sea salt. Décor is trendy and alight 70’s vibe with the golden lights and booths. The bathroom being in the basement of the hotel(requiring you to walk through the hotel lobby) was annoying and around 10:30 the crowd started to come in(and wait in the lobby) for the club upstairs, keep that in mind if you want a more traditional restaurant experience. Also, the lobby has a DJ playing music for the lounge area that bleeds over into the restaurant making it hard to have a normal tone conversation. Service was about average, a little on the slow and«missing» side for most people, but on par for a trendy NY place that seems to care as much about the scene as the food. Foodies beware, this place is for the trendy hipsters who want a scene.

Came here for Resto Week with 2 girl friends and the food was tasty, the drinks were even tastier but cost almost as much as our meals. We had an 830p reservation and were seated right away, the service was on point the entire time which I didn’t expect since it’s a large space and they were pretty busy. We all ordered different things — tuna tartar, Kobe beef, Chicken and everything was very delicious and the portions were quite generous. The desserts were also very very good! They had a dj spinning some old school hip-hop/soul and it started to get very busy/crowded towards the end of our meal. I can see that it probably turns into a bit of a scene on weekends.

Came here for restaurant week and it was delicious! I had the tomato bisque soup, kobe patty melt, and cheesecake. All t hree were amazingly good, but the kobe melt stole my heart. I took half home and had it the next day and it stole my heart all over again. It had mushrooms and onion and tasty with every bite! There was also a very good amount of Kobe beef in there!

Came here for restaurant week and it was surprisingly better than expected. I had the tuna tartar, chicken, and Rocky Mountain. All dishes were good, and the chicken was a generous portion and tender. App and desert were good but not worth going into detail about. The issue here is you get killed on drinks. The total for 2 people came in we’ll over $ 200 with tax and tip, so don’t expect a good value here. Is this place worth checking out? For restaurant week, I think so. Do I plan on ever coming back? Probably not.

We had a 7:30 reservation for 4 but some of us decided to sit at the bar in the meantime. The guy bartender was fast at making our drinks(round 2) and he was really nice. So with that said we’ve had a few(very strong) drinks and now were hungry! We all choose to take advantage of restaurant weeks prefix menu choice, since this restaurant was a participant. I let our server know i have a food allergy and it wasn’t a problem he helped me choose somethings that would be made without int ingredient i am allergic too. HOLYHELL, the«Pepper Crusted Center Cut Filet» wasn’t crusted it was COVERED in peppercorn. ASINTHAT’S THEONLYSEASONINGHEUSED! Usually when something is «crusted» its predominately that spice but there should be other spices along with it. Who covers a Steak in peppercorn, no one can consume that much peppercorn! It was so disgusting and almost not edible! So I tried to scrape most of it off and although I thought I was successful at getting all of this off, not to mention how disgusting it is to play with your food in a restaurant, but REALLY it was unbearable and I was not as successful as i thought! I would of sent it back but the portions were almost silly i thought it wasn’t worth it but later I regretted that decision. Two people including me in my party were so sick by the time we got home that we both were up all night. The only thing he and I ate that was the same was the pepper crusted steak. I think all of that peppercorn burnt a hole in my stomach. I will absolutely never pay for food that was this poorly prepared. The steak was an excellent cut, but the seasoning was overkill. They have not gained a repeat customer for the dinning room here. YUCK!

I was invited to dinner at the Marble Lane Restaurant Dec.21st. Great indoor décor, and that’s about it. The music was ear deafeningly loud, I had to scream into my friend’s ear to be heard and was hoarse half way through the meal and I have a trained actor’s voice! The bread served with the food was dry, the salad had way too much vinegar and the salmon in yoghurt sauce tasted okay, but we left as soon as we were done. A half hour after the meal I got violently ill: a clear case of food poisoning. I have a great stomach and I was feeling just fine before the dinner. I was so sick I spent Christmas in bed with Chamomille tea. Needless to say I wouldn’t recommend this place.

My friend was staying in the Dream for the night, so before we started pregaming, we thought it best to have a good meal. And Marble Lane was conveniently located right in the lobby of the Dream hotel, so decided to give it a shot despite the poor reviews. And, I was pleasantly surprised. Literally everything I sampled from our table was spot on. We ordered their special flatbread of the night, Caesar salad(probably the best Caesar salad I’ve ever had), beet salad, grilled calamari, burger, scallops, hand halibut. Everything was great. The only slight let down miiiight have been the beet salad, but nothing to complain about. I definitely wouldn’t mind coming back to Marble Lane.

Large flashy hotel steak restaurant full of beautiful young things. But 80s music which only yours truly and the rest of my table knew. Slightly chaotic service. V expensive wines although they do know that Europeans make a decent red wine. Food was the highlight and better than I expected. Tuna tartar was fresh and slightly spiced delicious. New york strip for entrée cooked perfectly with nice slightly spiced sauce. Brussels as side nice but a little burnt(how hard is it!). Nice but expensive saint estephe went well with steak. So if you are a young trustafarian who wants to go out for fun evening with your beautiful friends then this is the place for you. You won’t know the music but trust me it’s great. If you just want a good steak surrounded by grown ups go to Quality Meats.

Marble Lane is absolutely beautiful. The moment you walk in the Dream Downtown hotel, you feel glamorous. The décor and ambience inside Marble Lane blends in with the hotel. I would love to come back here for a drink at the hotel lobby or even check out the penthouse lounge. This is also a perfect spot for a romantic date or even an intimate place to catch up with friends. I came here for Winter RW dinner 2012. Food was good for RW — certainly not oh my knock me off my feet wow but pretty decent, depending on what dish you ordered. Thankfully to the other Unilocalers that came here for RW, I went with the bang bang chicken and it was definitely better than I expected. The chicken was crispy and full of flavor, not dry at all. My friend had the salmon and it was below par– even had a fishy taste to it so that was unacceptable. This is ‘the’ place to take your out of town friends if you want to impress them! I highly suggest you go here for a drink. It would be great if they had an outdoor space, just like neighboring Maritime Hotel. 3 stars for food, 4 stars for the atmosphere.

Snapshot: 3 stars for the food, 2 for the service, 3 for the atmosphere, but location is amazing if you’re out on the town afterwards. It’s a worthy place to have dinner if you are going to one of the many private events up at the rooftop. I’ve been to Marble Lane a few times at this point. As the restaurant in the lobby of the Dream hotel, you can order from either the main dining room, or at one of the random lounge tables nearby. The Atmosphere: The dining room is the dining room. Somehow this place just never gets busy. It’s a bit loud because of the general buzz of the overall lobby, but not so loud that you can’t hear. The lighting is great in this place. Dark enough so that you look great, but not too dark. The Service: In the dining room is better. Outside of the dining room is just too large a space for anyone to be adequately attentive. You from time to time will loose your waitstaff in both because of the distances they have to traverse to things. The food: The beet salad is very fresh. Pork ribs, calamari, and crab cakes are also nice. The steaks are good. Nothing is too notable or noticeably bad. The Banana Split is possibly the best dessert. I night also try the donuts. All and all, it is what it is in the meatpacking, a scene; and Marble Lane is among the edible in that scene. Final Tidbits: If you sit in the lobby area, not the main restaurant, you can also see the bottom of the pool. How did I miss that during the summer. That promises to make it fairly cool to eat in the lounge during one of their summer pool parties. Also, the restaurant does open late, and currently, you can definitely have a large group there if you’re hard up to find a place. We had 15 people once.

Attempts at über-trendy atmosphere sometimes supersede service and the main purpose of a restaurant, the food and beverage. I enjoyed Marble Lane at the Dream Hotel for several reasons. The atmosphere is very cool and the crowd is fairly full of tri-state locals. The room is dimly lit, big and open, and ceiling windows or skylights as some might call them sit below the pool a floor above creating an interesting illusion. The food is tasty and the prices, while not cheap, aren’t overwhelming either. Our waiter was very nice and helpful so the service gets a plus for that. On the contrary, I felt rushed, very rushed. We’re kicking back enjoying appetizers and BAM… the bus guy is standing there with our main course, staring at the table as if we’re going to slip the plates into the seat cushions and girls’ purses so he can carry on. So I told him, hey guy we’re not done yet. Do me a favor, keep the food warm bud. Five minutes later he’s back and we’re still chowing down on the apps. «Hey guy we’re not done yet! Figure out a method so that you might know.» So finally when we were ready, this sneaky SOB slips us the main courses a third and final time. Tasty? Yes. Hot? NO! Come on my dude, get a heat-lamp, speak up, coordinate with the chef, figure something out. At the end of the meal I felt a silent pressure from a woman wearing a headset, who walked by the table 7 times in a two minute and 15 second span. There were plenty of open tables, not like we had to make room for the next party, they sure as hell aren’t charging diner prices either and in need the turnover. Let me reiterate that our waiter was completely uninvolved in this phantom pushiness, he was as accommodative as can be; very friendly and patient. This rant might come off as if I was completely unhappy, but that would be unfair. Overall I enjoyed fun company and good wine and food in a great setting, just for the price, I would appreciate the courtesy next time of a no rush, no hassle experience as well as better kitchen coordination.

Don’t come here expecting a delicious gastronomic meal. You would come here because its an über trendy place where you want to be seen. Food is decent — nothing thrilling but not bad either. On the expensive side, but totally expected since it is a hotel. I hear that their steak is delicious, although I can’t vouch for that since I didn’t actually eat it. Drinks are good — but stick to what you know. Their cocktails are way too sugary and will get you sick(trust me, i know).

Delicious! I went here with my sister for lunch hoping to dine with the NYC Restaurant Week menu, but apparently they don’t do it on the weekends. Instead, we decided to get two appetizers and one entrée to share. We asked our waitress what she recommended and she suggested the tuna tartare and the beet/pear salad, so that’s what we did! Both were scrumptious. The bobo chicken entrée was fantastic with a yummy tarragon butter. For two appetizers, one entrée, and one iced tea = $ 51. The prices didn’t shock me too much… well, except for the $ 6 iced tea!!! Other than that, it wasn’t too bad. We were planning on spending $ 25 each for restaurant week menu prices, so it worked out nicely. Good service, nice atmosphere. Weird bathrooms, though… and not only are they downstairs, but they’re around three corners, so it takes you a while to get there and back to your table haha. My sister thought I fell in!

Breakfast review. Golden balls dangle overhead like Mr. Bubbles in the fancy lobby space. First off they are out of the caramel pecan brioche. Sunday morning and out of the one thing that drew me in. Ordered two hot choclates that were made with chocolate and decent. Two egg sandys with country ham and homefries. Foodwise, not a standout– sandy was ok on toast– nothing special. Kitchen is dishing out regular food at exhorbitant prices. WOW factor is only the design not the food! This spot is extremely handicapped inaccessable! Had to take my dad down to the basement to the bathroom. Aren’t there laws for accessability. Bill comes– $ 14 for two hot chocolates– GREATBALLS of IRE! 20% gratuity added to the check for two– WTF! Better to go to the Print House for an extraordinary Hotel Brunch sans the ouch factor plus amazing hotel food.

Spacious, smaller bar, beautiful ball lighting drop down from the ceiling, it’s like a dream, just as the hotel name for. Marble Lane is a modern steakhouse, open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
