Cafe Lalo

Café Lalo was the dessert portion of my birthday dinner. I had never been or heard of it before — until I realized it was in You’ve Got Mail !
This is the PERFECT date spot. I would suggest it to anyone going on any type of date from a first date to an old married couple. This place screams romance!
This French café is right out of Paris, I’ve never been to Paris but I’ve been to Lalo so, same thing right?
I ordered the Frozen Mocha Cappuccino — it tasted like a coffee milkshake, and was the perfect consistency. I loved it. I also had the tiramisu, which was good but not the best I had ever had. I am an Italian girl, I’ve had tiramisu in Italy, I am hard to impress.
My boyfriend and his brother both ordered regular cappuccinos and Cookie Monster Sundaes. The Cookie Monster sundaes include a warmed fresh baked cookie with a large scoop of their homemade ice cream. See pictures for more detail. I did not try these but the guys loved them.
My sister-​in-​law ordered the affogato, which is a scoop of ice cream with espresso poured over it. She loved it.
They had a LARGE variety of cheesecakes and other pastries. Like I said earlier I would definitely recommend Café Lalo to anyone looking for a dessert spot.

Café Lalo es un sitio más que agradable en el Upper West Side de Manhattan. Una hermosa cafetería que se encuentra en una zona más que linda, bien acorde a este local en sí donde todo es pintoresco, en tanto que una vez que pasas por la puerta es de esos negocios a los que realmente te dan ganas de entrar.
Este sitio es un palacio de cosas ricas y un lugar excelente para parar un rato si es que están paseando por la zona. Acá podrán encontrar las más variadas y deliciosas tortas, acompañadas con algo más que rico para beber. Recuerdo haber combinado un chocolate caliente con una porción de cheseecake. Realmente todo estaba delicioso.
En fin, Café Lalo es de esos lugares a los que vale la pena visitar, puede que sea un poco caro, pero tampoco es que los precios son desorbitados, está todo acorde al nivel del lugar y la calidad de sus productos. Como dato de color, hay que decir que en esta cafetería se filmó una escena de You’ve Got Mail de Nora Ephron con Tom Hanks y Meg Ryan.

Wer könnte Lalo nicht lieben?
Sehr schöné Stimmung, total nette Kellnerinnen, gutes (jedoch teures) Essen, PERFEKTE Kuchen.
Ich war mehrmals hier und kann nur für heute sprechen. Ich hatte die Himbeerlimonade (viel zu süß am Anfang, dann ein bisschen besser mit der Zeit), einen gegrillten Sandwich (Spinat und Gouda Käse auf Sauerteigbrot) und ein Stück Saure Limette Käsekuchen (unglaublich locker und perfekt — und viel zu teuer!).
Habe gegessen und getrunken und mit meinem Buch für ungefähr eine Stunde geblieben. Fühlte mich wie Kathleen Kelly, klar.
Perfekt für den Sommer. Juhu juhu.
