Hey Joe’s — you have great burgers and some fun beers but what is with the sour faced guy serving the food? Is that Joe? Hope not. This is a great addition to the neighborhood just want to feel welcome.

I like this place! We have been here a few times after brunch for some more afternoon drinks, It is comfy, good music, good service. It is not overly busy so you can relax. They have minimal menu but we have had the fries, quesadilla and burger and it was all good. I had the snowball cake one day that was very good and tasted just like a hostess snowball! Drinks are a little different and it is just an easy place to go. I suggest coming here for a chill afternoon.

So I came here a few months ago an I had there bacon cheeseburger medium it was awesome but they don’t come with fries so you have to order a side of fries an the fries were yummy in my tummy that’s how I like it. It’s just a little to pricy for me.

There is no such thing has Sam burger(burger with fried egg). FYI– no such thing as «secret menu». Just ask for fried egg on top, they’ll do it for you. Waitress super chill, environment super relaxing.

Such a simple idea that also works really well. Burgers, cocktails, beer, ya heard? I mean there isn’t much to say. It works. It’s comfortably busy, burgers are NOT the best I’ve ever had but they veggie burger is most definitely top 3 of ones I’ve ever had in my life and not just in NY. Beef burger is good too, don’t get me wrong. This would be the perfect casual date night spot or friends chat-it-up meet up. Simplicity made right in our overindulgent world. Btw, the fries are delish!

Very nice bar, with great cozy romantic atmosphere. Beers are pricey though

Really clean, cozy place with a great beer selection(sour!), fun food menu(cake!) and good music. We’ve been here a few times and will likely be back. Unless the owners are there. The last time we were in here, the owners were just standing by the bar and staring at the staff, going behind the bar to pour themselves drinks and barking at the bartenders to make sure their buddies were getting free drinks. It was an awful experience for the customers, not to mention the staff!

Great burger and nice atmosphere. My only suggestion for the restaurant would be to include fries with the burger since the burgers aren’t cheap. Excited to come back some time soon!

Update: We went back today and tried the burgers, which were amazing. Also they stayed open during the snowstorm and the service was great. Great cocktails, great food. Perhaps our first visit was an exception. This place would be so much better without the owners hovering around the bar, pouring themselves drinks and their buddies’ drinks while watching the bartenders and waitresses like hawks. It made us uncomfortable and destroyed the low-key, cool vibe that it could have if the owners freed up the seats in the window for actual patrons.

This is not just your average UWS bar. It’s huge yet comfy, mature but fun. My husband and I made it in the last hour of their happy hour and got one of their rotating craft beer happy hour specials.(Happy hour special also includes cocktails!) Our waitress even checked in with us 10 minutes before happy hour ended to see if we wanted to snag another. When’s the last time that happened? The beer list is great and includes some familiar beers, but most are not found at your average bar. The bar itself is long, and the bartenders are friendly. There are also some nice, more lounge-y seats in the back. I love the Happy Hour neon sign, which stays lit for the appropriate time. Maybe it should start blinking 5 minutes before Happy Hour ends, hehe. They were all decked out for the holidays, which was also a nice touch.

They make literally the best burger I’ve ever tasted. I’ve tried almost every«best burger in nyc» according to all the lists, but none of them come close to the perfection of a bacon cheeseburger at Joe’s. It’s my favorite place to go on the UWS. They play great music, the staff and bartenders are friendly and attentive. And now that they have Downeast Cider on tap there’s not another place I’d rather go for a night out.

The bacon cheese burger I ordered medium rare came out like perfection. The bun was perfect and light. The meat was high quality. The red headed server was an absolute delight. She recommended a cocktail which was delicious. The Christmas decorations offered a really nice touch. The bathroom was clean. Definitely would return.

I’m a big fan of the 70s. You should see my apartment. It’s full of lava lamps, disco balls, and great record album covers. That’s one reason I liked Joe’s Bar NYC so well, which my girlfriend and I visited recently. Comfort meets chic in this new 70s inspired corner-venue. Joe’s Bar captures the essence of simplicity that was 70s living — with vintage record albums lining the shelves, retro family photos along the walls, and the Led Zepplin and Fleetwood Mac playing in the background. Being Friday and having the next day off, it was my duty to try as many of their signature cocktails as possible. I started out with the Scooby Snack, a frozen Piña Colada Coca Cola Slushy that would knock even Shaggy on his butt. From there I moved to Flash Gordon’s Breakfast, a spicy Tequila with cucumber, Thai chili, Dolin Blanc, and mint. Flash a-ah, Savior of the Universe, he’ll save every one of us, but not without his spicy tequila… What better to do after Flash then hit up the disco with the Disco Revival, a tart Gin inspired drink with grapefruit Cordial, lemon, Lillet Rosé, and Absinthe. John Travolta would be proud. Starting too feel a bit light on my feet, I decided to try some of the mini-burgers. Damn delicious with excellent fries to boot. They brought me back to earth so I could take off again with Luke and his Skywalker, a cocktail with Fernet, Crème de Menthe & Cacao, and Cream. Ultra refreshing, it was my favorite of the night. Nearing the floor myself, I finished up with their Four on the Floor, a Bourbon, Dark Rum, Root Beer Cordial, & Amontillado drink that nearly knocked my off my stool. Fortunately my woman kept me from getting another one, or else I may have ended up on NY1 for running around naked claiming the force was with me, but hey, doesn’t everyone after a few Skywalkers? We both really liked owner Anthony Serignese’s(former General Manager and Beverage Director at The Stanton Social) new place and I’ll definitely be going back again soon to finish their cocktail list, including the Sex Machine(Vodka, Galliano, Combier Orange, Lemon, & Egg White), Burt Reynolds(a Shot & a Beer), and Night Fever(Vodka, Raspberry Cordial, Campari, Carpano, & Lime). Now, where did I put those platform shoes…

Festive holiday fun is what I had during my recent visit to Joe’s. Came here for beer club and we were having an ugly sweater contest. Some of the women working at the bar were wearing festive holiday sweaters so it was fun. The place was decorated nicely for Christmas, which made it fun. Beer selection is modest but nice. The service from the bartenders and wait staff was terrific. Very efficient and friendly. The menu is limited, but I was hungry and ordered a burger because I was very hungry and it was tasty. Very juicy and flavorful, but at $ 13 I wish it had come with some type of side. Overall, a great place. I’ll come back.

I came here after work and it had good reviews so I stopped in, the space is OK a little to bright for me and there was not many people there, made it was just a weird time, anyway the selection of beers is very interesting and had a really good one, but I feel it’s pretty pricey for can beer. They have burgers and some other things but didnt have the food.

So I have lived in NYC for 25 years. I’ve been to all the«must go» burger joints(Corner Bistro, that place at the Parker Meridian hotel, Unami, etc.). I have to say, this is one if the best burgers in the city. I’m not joking. The meat is tender and juicy(Pat LaFreda may be to blame, but that’s not confirmed), and the bun is just right. The fries have the double fried taste I’m actually giving this newbie 5 stars, and that’s hard to get from me. Unfortunately, this place is never really crowded. Just go while you can, and see for yourself.

Joe’s is now my favorite later night place on the upper west side. They have a great beer selection, good drinks and a limited but awesome menu. Love my burger, my fries, and, an extra order or pickles. And yes, the beer. I especially liked the blow up pools they had outside during the summer.

The burgers don’t come with fries… so you are looking at $ 18-$ 20 for a burger with fries. I really think that’s a bit much for a local bar burger, no matter how good. Music a bit loud for my taste as well.

If I had to choose between going to heaven and being welcomed by 100 virgins, OR eating another burger from here… I would become an atheist. What a great fucking burger. I like this place a lot. Michelle is a very attentive bartender and never made me feel like I was ignored. The place had a good vibe and some real chill music. I definitely want to try the sloppy joe so Ile be here again soon

Stopped in here to meet my roommate. He told me that this was the best burger in manhattan. I ordered a bacon cheese burger and it was very good! Cooked perfectly to my order(Medium). From the vary beginning I enjoyed my time here. The bartender Michelle was super friendly and very knowledge. One of my other roommates asked if he could get an egg on his burger. Michelle accommodated him and but in her years working at the bar had never had that request. John(the cook that day) whipped up the most delicious looking burger with an over easy egg that I have ever seen. The atmosphere, craft beer, cocktails, and service was great. I will definitely be going back to hang with my new friend Michelle and have some delish drinks and grub.
