This place is under new ownership but there is no drawbacks as a result. The only thing is they take off the word«CHON» all over their signs so it’s funny looking. Even before the change, the wait was about 15 – 20 minutes. The best thing to do is order online. It’s very easy. You indicate the time you want to pick up and it is ready to go at exactly that time. The food itself is great. The wings & drumsticks are the best part. I’m not sure how they get the skin to be so tasty. The only drawback is the chicken strips. It seems that is cooked completely different than the wings & drumsticks. The skin is not as crispy so I wouldn’t recommend that. Enjoy!

I think this place gave me mild food poisoning. I generally have a stomach of steel, but after eating six chicken strips for lunch the other day I was sick for nearly 24 hours. No thanks. On top of that, you feel like you are eating in a warehouse — boxes stacked up next to the seating area, very little decoration, low light. Also, no bathroom, and I had asked for tap water which the guy said he would bring and it never came.

This place is quite the shady establishment indeed. Kind of unfortunate this is my first«Bön Chon» experience, or is it just Bön now? At first when I walked in here I thought some sort of fight broke out or maybe someone was just being a degenerate and decided to take the word Chon off the wall. It wasn’t until I looked at my little to-go box that I realized that this place actually changed its name to Bön! Some sort of copyright infringement maybe?! Either way we ordered food, a bunch of chicken legs and some white rice to wash it down. Then we sat at one of the like 3 tables in the whole place(it really looks like a chinese take out spot, only WAY more expensive, with way less choices) and played the waiting game. It took over 30 minutes to get out food. THIRTYMINUTES! Unreal right? Or maybe this is how long it usually takes? I wouldn’t know… Our food finally came out so we grabbed it and ran back across the street to the dance studio we were rehearsing at, so we could eat really quick and get back to it. I must admit, after everything, this was some really good fried chicken. The spicy one is really tasty and flavorful, crisp with a bit of crunch, I mean the texture was pretty close to perfect. Now it was good, quite good, but I can’t imagine going to this place to spend this much money on some drumsticks too often, I’d rather have some Brooklyn chinese take out anyday. I guess if I’m feeling like splurging I would come back here and possibly try out the wings… but maybe not this place, maybe a real life Bön CHON chicken, not just Bön…

Cluck cluck what the fluck… these wings are addictive! Crispy, moist, tender, finger licking bits of quack quack will see you inhaling your meal as though it’s the end of the world.

FYI No bathroom or tap water… The service is okay, food is pretty good, but nothing to write home about. Stumbled in with a friend while walking around Manhattan and decided to check it out. I don’t know if it’s really worth all the hype, but i do love rice with my fried chicken. it’s the asian in me. ;-)

The chicken was delicious. I’m partial to heat and preferred the spicy over the also yummy soy garlic sauce. Pretty certain this restaurant is named Bön Bön and is a copycat to Bön Chon. The word chon has been removed from the threshold sign. This is probably confusing to others besides me. Does anyone know the answer why? A quick google search only provided articles from 2007, but none got into the presence or lack of relationship to the mid-town Bön Chon. Perhaps there’s a dispute such ad the long ago resolved, but not settled naming of the Patsy’s pizzerias. We picked up a box of spicy 6 wings + drumstick and a box of soy garlic 6 wings + drumstick. This was less than we had meant to order so make sure you ask how many pieces come in your box if you’re ordering remotely. You’ll want to order as many as you can get your hands on. We picked up takeout on the way home from an out of town trip. It was an easy stop between the Holland Tunnel and Brooklyn Bridge.

If you ever wanted to experience some type of legal drug induced high that didn’t really involve going to jail or any 4Loko ish after effects — please eat from Bön Chon Chicken. The Wall Street location isn’t the cleanest and I would venture for my chicken snacks to go but it’s well worth a bite. The price is a tad expensive and you will find yourself saying, «It’s some freaking chicken why is it eleven dollars?!?». The difference is that it’s some DARNGOOD chicken considering the area and if your office can spring for a catering platter — then go for it. Get the garlic sauce with your purchase and use it for everything. It’s like the«ranch dressing» of Bön Chon Chicken condiments.

My friend and I stumbled into this joint after proctoring the ACT’s at Stuyvesant High School. After 6 hours of prepping and testing the students we were FAMISHED and this place filled our grumbling tummies. I ordered the 2 drumsticks and 5 chicken strips combo with a bun as my side. Though looking back, I probably should have ordered rice instead. Great source of tasty protein, but the company has much room for improvement. Here’s the low-down. The great! *Soy garlic chicken strips: light, sweet, and tender. I was definitely surprised by how delicious this was considering it looked like thin pieces of fish filets. *Service: quick and efficient *Prices are reasonable The not so great. *The system is not correctly linked to the menu above, as of 12/11/2010, so you may be overcharged; nevertheless, the hostess was accommodating and refunded the mistake, but be wary and on the lookout! *The texture of the drumstick skin was too course in my opinion and that contrasting the tender meat inside was unpleasant. *No bathrooms :(

Do not be deceived by the dingy décor. Okay… fine, if you’re a décor monger… head over to the Ktown location, it’s large, spacious and much nicer looking. I ordered the garlic chicken lunch special. Chicken was moist, garlic/bbq? sauce was aaaaaammaaazzzinnnggg. I’ve dreamed of it often times while deciding on what to order for lunch at work. I think I got some rice(done to perfection) and salad(regular). Perfect for takeout, FOOTBALL Game Nights(okay not if you’re on a budget b/c these puppies don’t come cheap) or a nice little snack.

Stumbling around from my local downtown plethora of bars in this area, I was happy to find this place open late on a Sunday night, on Chambers street, which is basically the«on-ramp» to Brooklyn. Making it convenient for me to hop a cab, with my treasury of 8 Garlic Soy(or Soy Garlic) wings, a bun(instead of rice) and a surprisingly tasty and spicy container of coleslaw. That was WAY more than I was expecting for my $ 9, and it popped out much faster than I thought. This place has quality food, and quick and friendly service.

Hello delicious fried chicken! Ordered in from seamless on a lazy Saturday evening. Got the combo 1 with 6 bbq wings and a spicy chicken leg. The skin was perfectly crispy, the sauce was just the perfect amount of sweet, tangy, and spicy, and the meat was not dried out. Sitting in bed, watching tv online, and eating this delicious korean bbq was absolute heaven. The kimchi coleslaw, while interesting, needed a little bit more flavor. It had no salt and wasn’t quite spicy enough, but it was a good complement to the strong flavors of the chicken. Days like that have been hard to come by recently so I appreciated it doubly! I can’t wait for my next bad week(I try to alternate between healthy and unhealthy eating weeks to satisfy both my inner emotional eater and outer health conscious responsible self) so I can chow down again. This one is definitely going on the list! Who knew Koreans could make such kick ass fried chicken?!?

Good Korean style chicken. They got two types of sauces that are glazed on either wings or chicken strips. You’re looking at an average price of ~$ 10 per person, but it comes with a bowl of rice for a decent meal if you get the combo. Make sure you order by phone in advance during peak hours, as they cook all their chicken fresh to order. And the way they make it, it takes a while.

When someone first suggested Korean fried chicken to me, I was like, I should slap your face! Koreans don’t know how to do that! It’s probably drumsticks buried in a pickle jar in someone’s backyard for a month or something!(It turns out I am mildly racist.) But goddamn was I wrong. Them Ko-ree-anns can fry the fuck out of a chicken. And in a way that at least seems lighter and healthier than the traditional method, too! Even my man-child friend who basically has the taste-bud development of a spoiled five-year-old enjoys this chicken. So yeah, light, crispy, good-quality meat, and covered in delicious sauces? You have proved me wrong, Korea. Well, South Korea, anyway.(I assume.)

I was lured into this location by the large reprints of laudatory articles posted in the window for BonChon Chicken. My guess is that those accolades were for another location. It’s actually even rather unclear if the other BonChon eateries are related to this one. Anyway, I got one dish called kimchi coleslaw. I was expecting something a little different, perhaps even some kimchi. No such luck. It was a small side dish of fairly average coleslaw, making it way overpriced. I had also ordered the soup, but was told they were out, so switched my order to the chicken nuggets. When they arrived, I had hoped for some interesting flavors — if not in the nuggets, then at least in the sauce. Well, they weren’t served with any dipping sauce. When I asked for some, I was given the choice of ketchup or some«pepper» sauce. I opted for the pepper sauce, which turned out to be some flavored mayonnaise. As for the nuggets themselves, they appeared to be composed of the fowl equivalent of sawdust pressboard and tasted like what I remember fast-food nuggets tasted like(where at least you can get barbecue sauce). Bottom line: absolutely no reason to go here; it’s fast-food flavors with a markup.

I’d rather stick with the bon chon in the east village or ktown locations. I ventured out here during lunch break and ordered the fried chicken wings and chicken strips combo. As soon as I opened it, I was welcomed with a strand of hair on top of the food! The fried chicken wings were not as good. It didn’t taste as fresh nor did it have the right«crunch» to it, like the other bon chons. Don’t even bother getting the chicken strips! It was way too oily and soggy, and totally did not have any crunch like the wings. Lastly, I expected this place to be a «faster» version, since there’s less sit-down seats and most people take out from this location. I ended up waiting 15 minutes during lunch time, and there were not that many ppl at all.

Tonight, IT happened. I popped my Bön Chon cherry. I decided to drag myself to work on this beautiful Sunday, therefore missing my otherwise planned dinner. Well. what better way to reward myself for hours of extra work than to stop by Bön Chon on the way back to the subway? Bad idea. Now that I know how amazing this chicken is, I’ll be quick to stop by for a bite rather than making it all the way home. Glazed skin so crispy that you can excavate the juicy chicken interior without disturbing the sweet soy garlicy exterior? Delicious! Even the piece that I took home was still crispy about 45 minutes later. Part of me wishes I had a bigger stomach so I could eat more. While I was there, someone asked what kind of oil they fried it in and apparently they use soy bean oil. Strange? Yes. Makes me psychologically think that it’s healthier on some level? Yes. I’m super gullible — especially when it benefits my outlook on fried chicken.

I swear these must be glazed with crack. I have never eaten in but order delivery from them often. Soy garlic strips + kimchi coleslaw = perfect night in. I can just sit on my bed watching Cold Case popping up to 20 of these little suckers into my mouth while biting on the sweet bun like it’s my job. Order a lot, they reheat brilliantly in the toaster oven. They also go great with beer, wine and vodka sodas.

Bön Chon Chicken near City Hall. How convenient is that for people who have to take the PATH train back home to new jersey? It’s very convenient, especially for KFC fans like myself. I made a deliberate stop here before I headed home, because I had to try it out. I had been here before, when it was Bön Bön Chicken, and that chicken was just okay. But Bön Chon, good lord, was still as good as ever. I only got the mild flavor, because as everyone knows spicy flavor gets my face redder than Bozo The Clown. I got the 20 piece wing, which was $ 20.99 before taxes. They also have the 20 piece wing/drumstick combo also for $ 20.99, as well as smaller piece and larger piece combos. If you want to eat in, there are three tables. However, the place’s air conditioning isn’t set too high, so if you come on a hot summer day be prepared to sweat your wings off.

The Koreans can fry the hell out of their chicken. Smaller free-range birds. Awesome spice. Made to order. We do a half spicy and half sweet order and it’s perfect. Now, if they sold cocktails and it wasn’t fast food décor, there would be five stars.
