We visited Trump SoHo hotel(very nice by the way!) to check out this rooftop«bar». It’s really not a bar. More like a rooftop pool that people sit around. It’s a nice casual spot during the daytime. It’s definitely not located in SoHo. More like South Village.

This has the potential to be a really good rooftop bar. Located on the 7th floor of the trump hotel in Soho, Bar D’eau is a chic and trendy bar/lounge with both an inside and outside section. The décor and setup will remind you of a beach club in Miami, but with a more laid back atmosphere. The inside is a bit small and can seem extra tight at times when trying to move around. Though if you catch this place during times when it’s not busy, it’s quite relaxing and a perfect place to grab a drink during the warmer months. There are a few tables spread around the inside and the a couple of seats at the bar. Floor to ceiling doors separate the bar area inside from the deck which holds an awesome pool, lounge chairs, and tables spread around for casual drinkers and those not partaking in the pool. The entire outside section is fairly spacious and balances out the inside really well. During warmer months, this kind of view is what it’s all about The drinks here are average unfortunately, and this, in my opinion, is what’s keeping that place back from being great. Make some quality drinks and you definitely have a winner… Awesome atmosphere, beautiful place, summer vibe… It’s all here, just a little small on the inside and average drinks. They do have a good liquor selection though.

OMGG! This place was so good I wanted to cry. It looks small at first glance but it is actually quite expansive(especially when you enter the outdoor terrace area). The décor is luxe, service was great, management was hospitable and competent, and the food & beverages were actually delicious and nutritious! Spring street is definitely a trek for me but the pilgrimage is worth it. I will be back!

This place is priced like it’s an exclusive rooftop bar with a beautiful view. I ordered a gin martini(just Tanqueray, not anything fancy like Hendricks) and a mojito. The bill came out to $ 40. Even worse, the martini was subpar and the olives were mushy. There is a nice empty spot at the back of the bar if you go all the way down the patio and around the side of the building. The view up the building is pretty spectacular – there is a strange effect that makes the building look like it’s shrouded in fog. Besides this, there isn’t much worthwhile about this bar. What was really annoying is that someone had thrown up in the elevator and on our way out we told them. They said they already knew and were going to clean it! I’m no hotel manager, but I’m pretty sure that when someone throws up in your elevator and you know about it, you should stop it immediately so no one has to experience the foul smell.

Welcome to the windiest bar in New York. When our server was asked, she joked about the cabanas that went over the side, gone with the wind. It’s on a rooftop, but doesn’t have a view, except to the five story billboard across the street. The interior space is cramped and the décor unremarkable. In fact, the foil wallpaper and cheesy chandeliers reminded me of an interior from 1965. The service and cocktails were fine. A martini will cost you $ 22, plus gratuity, which they add on to the total for your convenience. They must feel justified with the price scheme because you’re in a «Trump» hotel. However, I had the impression they were pretending this was a great experience and hoping the guests would buy into it. Almost any bar in Soho is more authentic, cheaper, and convivial than this place.

Really lovely space in the West Village/Soho area. Well designed, comfortable, and serene. Service was very nice — different waitresses kept checking up on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Very chill vibe on a cool Thursday evening. We were there on the early side, for after-work drinks, and the place was pretty empty. The menu is overpriced, but nothing beyond the regular rooftop mark-up. Kobe beef sliders were pretty good. Cocktails were a disappointment. You don’t have to hire top mixologists if you don’t want to, but at $ 17, have to be able to make a decent, drinkable mojito. Will try the wine next time.

beautiful and quiet rooftop. not much of a view, but comfortable seating, very well designed pool area and over décor. I have been here only once, so I am not sure this applies to every night, but music was barely audible and there were at most 10 other people.

Came here on a thursday evening and I was surprised it wasn’t as crowded as i thought it would be. Once inside Trump Soho, take the elevator up to the 7th floor, and wa-la, poolside rooftop bar! There was a private party which had about 10 – 15 people, but if they weren’t there, i would say the place was minimally filled, with a few people on the padded poolside lounge chairs and 2 – 3 groups at the tables. the setting was very sheik, modern, and trendy, as with most trump associated venues. i loved the backlit pool + waterfall cascading along the edge. it’s only 4ft deep, and very narrow, so i am assuming it’s for show purposes only. it was one of those cool summer nights with minimal humidity and a nice breeze. i think it’s a great setting and atmosphere if just for the ambiance only. so the service! well that leaves VERY little to be desired. having opened summer of 2010, you would think they had a better grasp on volume and work flow. as i said, it wasn’t close to being crowded, yet our group of 6 people we joined was saying it took them close to 40 minutes to get their drinks from the waitress. when she finally did show, she said their first drinks would be complementary due to the wait, so at least she was aware. hearing this, my girlfriend and i decided to head to the bar for drinks instead. drinks are about what you would expect, $ 14−18/ drink. even at the bar the bartenders were so bogged down by the private party(party of 10 – 15 remember) that it took us about 15 minutes to order, and we were the only two at the bar! the night continued with various attempts to order drinks, and maybe 30 minutes going by, along with some reminders, and the check took equally long. as far as drinks, i got a lychee martini which was pretty tasty. we also tried this spicy margarita specialty drink they like to market– NOT good. i mean, a perfectly good margarita with jalapeño peppers? why would anyone think that was a good idea. good thing it was complementary because no one drank it! so basically, a great place to come for the ambiance if you want a low key, trendy rooftop bar. getting in is pretty easy, but be prepared for slooow service!

My friends and I wanted to sit on a rooftop during a beautiful summer evening for happy hour. That being our goal: the food was good, it was very clean, there was a very small pool for anyone who wanted to dip in, and we were outside. Overall, not a good rooftop at all. The view was nice but not spectacular. The crowd was lackluster. The general vibe was kind of sterile and just not that fun. I wouldn’t go back.

You should not go here. You should stay home and leave it for me & my friends. Well, except if it’s cold and/or rainy. Then you can go here, I won’t mind.

Here is a fantastic find that has not been wrecked by the maddening crowd — Bar D’eau at the new Trump SoHo. Calling this location SoHo is a bit of a stretch. It is sort of in a no mans land between SoHo, West Village and Tribeca. That is ok as it is 1 block from a C/E train stop. The bar is tucked away up on the 7th floor of the Trump hotel. The buildings in the area are relatively low-rise, so sun and sky are not too much of an issue. The bar has an air-conditioned indoor space with floor to ceiling glass for dummies who do not like to be outside in warm weather. Outside is the main event — with a small pool and mini waterfalls, plus lots of white marble and comfy seating in the large patio area near the pool. The space is fantastic and very relaxing. The prices on the booze were ok in my book. The one beef I had was that they definitely had a «we just opened» feel — i.e. disorganized. There were several servers and a stuffy looking guy in a skinny suit(with a fat necktie) all buzzing around a half empty pool area — all ignoring me. I had no idea if I should seat myself, ask a server to seat me or go to the dude in the skinny suit. I ended up getting a seat, only to be waited on by 2 different servers. The one who delivered my drinks nervously asked me for a credit card to start a tab«as ummm they uhhh are worried about people walkin’ out without payin’ «- wow, that was odd. Oh well, not that big of a deal. I had a nice little drink on a beautiful late spring day and found a new spot — all good in my book.
