710 Bar’Grill LonggrainSushi

I had visited this establishment when it was called AK something or other. Then it was just ok, nothing to get excited about, which is why I was apprehensive about returning. My friend and I got to the doorway and hesitated but this nice young man nearby and a lovely young lady entering the venue encouraged us by sharing positivie reviews. She also informed us it was under new management. We gave it a shot, and I’m glad we did. My friend and I were served by Fong (I hope I spelled it right), and he gave great, attentive service. He was also assisted by Rasfa, whom I assumed to a manager; he was also very pleasant. We shared the shrimp shumai appetizer, which was a perfect portion and great flavors. I ate the Fun in Black dish with added shrimp. That was delicious, and my friend scraped her bowl clean of the shrimp curry soup dish she had. A man, whom I assumed to be the owner, introduced himself to us as Charles at the end, was very kind throughout our visit and he thanked us for our patronage. I am very pleased with my visit and I will assuredly return with more friends.

The drinks are good! Had the acai royal and ruby lush. Sushi was yummy! Had the eel avocado (not on the menu, but can be ordered) and salmon roll with spicy mayo (you have to request the spicy mayo). No complaints about the drinks or food. Service is a little slow, esp in the downstairs bar, but it was very crowded. While dining, the waitress forgot about us, for about an hour, while waiting for the check. Her tip reflected the abandonment, and we were confronted about it. We were ‘forced’ to tip more. I’m removing a star, just for that.

I just ordered delivery from Long Grain, what is now being called 710 Bar Grill & Long Grain Sushi. It’s was delicious! I’ve actually been ordering for years from them but have always forgotten to do a review but today is the day! I ordered the Panang Curry (red curry) with shrimp which they were able to do in a mild version and it was great! Often when I order curry from other places and ask for mild it comes watered down or no flavor at all. So I was pleasantly surprised that this was mild but still had a tiny bit of spice/​and full flavor kick to it. I also got the chicken satay appetizer (perfect pieces of grilled white breast chicken) with again great flavor! And my shrimp tempura roll was a great size of sushi and with avocado inside which I love. All in all pretty perfect for delivery. Last but not least they deliver all the way uptown! I’m in Washington Heights and they deliver up to here. It can take up to an hour though– but it’s so worth it, just order early. Plus they are usually good on meeting the time they quote you. So if they say an hour it will be an hour. But again– there aren’t many options for food like this, especially good sushi in the Washington heights/​Inwood area, so I’m happy that they deliver to me! I will definitely be ordering again.
