Super busy on a Thursday night, but a walk in seemed to get less priority than the calls the staff were taking. All food taste the same no matter what you get, very salty. Convenient location

They just lost a star. I ordered the«grand marnier» shrimp. Not what it sounds like. It is breaded shrimp drowning in mayonnaise with chunks of canned pinapple and broccoli. Yuck.

It’s really gone down. It use to be good, then okay. Yesterday I ordered the chicken and broccoli lunch special. The chicken was so soft and mushy. It didn’t seem real, maybe full of fillers. I don’t know if it was only for that one particular day or what. However, I will not bother to find out. I had been a regular customer since the 90’s. Never again.

I no longer pick up food here. The food and prices are still the same as my last comment but I am happy to state that I no longer call to order since I can do that online now. Also, it is better to order and have the food delivered to your home since the delivery person has come more than once and has been polite each and every time. Ollies to go has finally made an improvement

Don’t go in to order. It’s not worth the wait and the counter person got my order wrong despite the fact that I starred items and read them directly to her. When I complained, she insisted that she was right. The issue was that they gave me meat and I don’t eat meat — which makes me certain that she entered my order with haste. Not worth the time or the money.

Food is great but the take out rep sucks. They can’t speak clear, an what makes it the matter worst is that the cashier have an attitude.

Ollie’s is a huge step up from your typical inner city Chinese or Chinese take-out. I definitely don’t think they would fair to well in Chinatown because of all the competition, but for up here«they’ aight»! At my old job we used to order from here because of how reliable and quick they were. I will say that their Cha Sui Bao(roast pork bun) stands up to one of their downtown contemporaries.

good food, responsive to calls on the rare occasion a delivery was missing something(they either adjust the charge or send it with another delivery person.) glad they are close!

As much as I WANT to like this place bc it’s close and convenient and actually seems very clean, it has made me sick TWICE. First time I didn’t make the connection — thought I had just caught a bug — didn’t think it was the food. But, after giving it a second shot months later, now I know. I ate simple appetizers only: The seaweed salad and the shrimp spring roll. Seaweed salad did NOT go over well. Those salads sit in the case up front, and I’m now wondering how long they sit there. Sorry to say I Definitely won’t be eating here again.

Hot garbage. I’ve no idea how Ollie’s has fallen to this level. I used to love Ollie’s for a long time but since their change over the last few years it gets worse by the day. They add so much sodium and msg to their food it gave my mother heart palpitations. «Chinese Restaurant Syndrome» is a real thing caused by excessive msg, and it does cause heart palpitations. Stay away from this place if you care for your health.

Shanghai Pan fried pork buns — 生煎! I’ve been looking for this for months, and Olies togo here in UWS has pretty authentic ones! It’s 15 minutes wait — but worth it. If you have a craving for pan fried pork buns, they will put a smile on your face. The bottom part is perfectly crispy. If I have to criticize — it never hurt to add more meat filling. And to finish, sprinkle some roasted sesame and green scallions on top to make this snack perfect. I also had Peking duck sandwich — it’s ok. They give a generous soft steamed bread — again, it won’t hurt to add more protein! with the sweat bean sauce, it is kinda hard to fail terribly. I give it a 3.5 But all in all I will come back more to sample other dishes. Maybe a good Hors d’œuvre spot.

Despite the horrible reviews, I actually had a great experience ordering in from Ollie’s. I ordered their Seafood Ramen, and I split the Fried Calamari Appetizer. Everything tasted fresh, soup was just salty enough, and the order came within a reasonable amount of time. I’ve also picked up sushi from here before — which was also pretty great. Maybe I went at off-hours, but I’ve never had an issue with customer service. Definitely worth a shot!

A step above regular chinese food takeaway. Tasty but it’s just NOT the same as the old Ollie’s on 84th street or Lincoln Center. Shumai was delicious and not too salty. Steamed pork buns had very little in the way of pork filling but were still good. egg roll and shrimp spring roll were nothing to write home about. Efficient, polite employees.

Awful. Just awful. Food not fully cooked. Devoid of any taste. Partial order was screwed up — chicken dish for a vegetarian. Overall just horrible. Don’t do it to yourself.

I love their Mandarin Chicken Curry Soup. Their food is just OK. They have a great menu, however you have to be specific about what you want. Customer service really sucks. Their delivery service is crazy, since the Ollie’s closed on 116th Street after a fire.

It’s nice to have roast duck and meat hanging in the window, but beyond that there’s nothing redeeming about Ollie’s. The service is horrible, the food is on the bad end of mediocre Americanized Chinese food. There is no reason to visit Ollie’s unless you’re seeking disappointment.

Food is pretty good for the price. I recently had a bad experience with their delivery person. He didn’t speak a word of English and was a huge complainer that the 5 dollar tip I was giving him wasn’t enough.

Stopped in for a quick bite last night. Food was fine — I’ve lived on the Upper West Side for many years and have enjoyed Ollie’s at the(now closed) 84th St location as well as the one near Columbia. We usually order on the phone, but were nearby so decided to eat there. My main complaint is with the customer service. In a word — it is non-existent. If you know exactly what you want and order quickly, you should be fine, but if you have questions or are even the slightest bit uncertain, they make you feel like shit. We went to the middle register, a woman named«Jenny»(according to our receipt) took our order. I saw shu-mai on the menu, but could not find the dumplings, when I asked if they had regular steamed dumplings, she barked at me «look at appetizer!» When I asked a question about another order, she was similarly curt. And started to help another customer. Finally, I said three times that we would eat in the store(as opposed to to-go), but of course our order came packaged in a stapled bag without any plates, etc. As for the food, cold noodles with sesame were OK, nothing special. The steamed vegetable dumplings were very doughy, though the filling was good. By far the best thing we had was the Beijing Duck sandwich — a juicy hunk of roasted duck with scallion and hoisin sauce between two pieces of fresh, soft Chinese bun. I will go back to Ollie’s again, but it really is inexcusable to treat paying customers with such contempt. At least if you walk in, you don’t have to leave a tip.

I tried the pork noodle soup with wontons. The roasted pork was overall good. It was not quite on par with the best in Chinatown, but definitely the best option I can think of on the UWS. The soup broth was a little tasteless, but at least it wasn’t exceedingly salty. The wontons were surprisingly excellent. They also piled in some green and bean sprouts which were a nice addition. I wouldn’t make this place an eating destination, but if you are in/live/work in the area and want a quick and easy meal, this is an excellent option. The price is reasonable and the portions are enormous.

Finding good Chinese food on the UWS has been challenging. Ollie’s is consistent what-you-would-expect. Prices are OK. I really like their vegetable fried rice — not too soy saucy and lots of different veggies. The spare ribs are very good. Try their lunch specials, it’s a pretty good deal.

Netter, kleiner, fast food Asiate. Gute Preise. Schnelle Bedienung. Gute Lage.
