Subway

Conveniently located right next to Walmart with a nice look. But, for whatever reason management is unable to make sure there’s more than one employee behind the counter during lunch time (rush) –I imagine if it comes to that the manager WILL eventually crawl out of the back office. The gurls are constantly on their phones and they will charge you different prices on add-​ons but you can’t really blame them… They’re probably making too little money to care enough.

It’s no secret that I patronize this Subway location a lot. First of all, it’s close to my many work locations throughout the Port of New Orleans, and secondly because of employees Mike & Julie; a married couple that made this location so good.
However, on my most recent visit on 12/​09/​2013, I was informed that the store was under new management and Mike and Julie no longer worked there. This is is no way a deal breaker for me; albeit a little disappointing. However, my disappointment was about to begin.
I ordered a Philly cheesesteak sandwich, and was politely told they were out of Philly cheesesteak.
I next ordered a cold roast beef sandwich and was told they were also out of roast beef.
Getting a little perturbed, I opted to try something different and ordered the new hot pastrami melt. Well it goes without saying that no sandwich looks in real life like the advertised photos, but there was so little meat on this 6 inch sandwich, that there was no meat for at least 1″ on each end; and the meat was not thick at all. When I went to add condiments to the sandwich there was no lettuce, no tomatoes, no spinach and no cucumbers.
I didn’t want a meal so I ordered an unsweetened tea. However, they had no unsweetened tea and no fountain drinks either, so I got a bottled coke. The final straw was when I asked for a napkin, and I was told they were also out of napkins and was given a length of brown paper towel from their hand washing station.
Seriously, I thought this was some sort of joke like «Candid Camera». But it wasn’t.
I was tempted to give this place 1 star, but all my experiences prior to this had been pleasant. So perhaps this was a one time total eff up. I may give them one (and only one) chance to redeem themselves, but it won’t be anytime soon.

Ok y’all, I’ll try to keep this short and sweet. It’s a Subway so I’d feel weird giving it more than three stars. I tend to frequent this Subway whenever I’m starving and need to go to Wal-​Mart to fill a prescription or what not.
This Subway is in the strip mall to the right of Wal-​Mart (if you are facing the front of the store). Plus it’s a healthier option than the McDonald’s which is in Wal-​Mart.
Mike and Julie are super friendly folks who work at this Subway! They keep the store extremely clean including the bathroom! The food has always been good and they always have the delicious cookies in the case.
There are also high top tables and regular tables with lots of windows. There is also more seating to the right of the checkout.
