High Tech Burrito

Great customer service! A young gentlemen there named Eddie is one of the best employees I’ve ever encountered!!! Also, he made my food which tasted so great! Very satisfied!

I am so sad and disappointed. This place used to be good! I used to come here every couple of weeks for my craving.
Tonight, I ordered my usual veggie quesadilla. It’s huge, and they fill it with things like broccoli and zucchini… but that’s about where the stars stop.
It was super greasy. Like, super dripping.
It comes with a side of salsa, guac, and sour cream.
The salsa was watered down. Wtf?
The guac was tasteless, and there were big chunks of avocado. It was not blended at all.
The worst part of all… There was a hair on my plate. And I didn’t find it until the end. It must’ve been on one of the side cups or something, and I moved the cup, exposing it. Like I was literally taking the last bite of the quesadilla when I found it.
And I’m not trying to be racist… but the staff isn’t the same. They used to have my people working in the kitchen, and now there’s not a cocinero to be found in sight. This ain’t a burrito joint no mo’.
This was the last time I’m coming here. Maybe I’ll still give the TL location a chance.

High tech is a very nice restaurant. It has fresh food and is nice peaceful restaurant. I am sure l’ll go back. I would suggest people for lunch.

This review is for the owner and the manager and the patrons that visit.
I am updating my review of some years ago from a 5 Star to a 1 Star, hopefully it will go back to being a 5 star establishment.
This restaurant was once owned by a man named Greg Maples, I believe he sold HTB several years ago. When Greg owned the place you had a dedicated cook and a backup cook that ran the place with pride, where every meal counted. Over the past year the Novato HTB has seriously gone down hill and it appears as though no one in management or ownership are paying any attention.
The staff are unfriendly and do not listen carefully to the orders that are being taken, we were coming in at least twice a week and the orders were wrong almost every time.
The floor is disgusting, if you look behind the cash register where the cooks are the floor is black with grime and droppings of food. I understand that this is a «quick order» establishment and food will drop onto the floor but there is no excuse for it to look as bad as it does. It takes only a couple of minutes to sweep that area every 30 minutes or so, please show some pride in the place you operate.
The fillings now seem to be half what they used to be. Greg had his staff measure out the fillings before the burritos were made, now its a shot in the dark as to what you will get size wise. The meat is overcooked and burnt, it’s plain dreadful.
We have been coming here since the Diablo location opened about 15 years ago? But stopped coming here last month. We now visit the Terra Linda High Tech Burrito which is far superior. They have competent cooks and staff and the young man who greets us when we come in is professional and courteous. They apologized for the Novato location and said have been inundated with complaints about the Novato restaurant.
So from a long standing customer to HTB management, please get it together…

We used to go to High Tech Burrito years ago, then stopped because the quality of the food went downhill. We recently decided to give them another try. Just in the past few weeks we have gotten burritos three times at Novato’s High Tech Burrito because it’s so much better that now we are craving it! The food is fresh, perfectly cooked, tastes excellent. The burritos are so generous, they last me two meals! I understand James is the new manager, and he’s all about what well prepared Mexican food is all about. If you used to go, like we did, I urge you to try it again — it’s a whole new experience! *Also, they’ve always gotten our family’s order perfect, nothing forgotten! Try it, you’ll love it…

Flavorless, I actually thought the ‘best of’ sign was some kind of joke after trying it but after reading reviews I guess that’s just how it is. Bummer.

I recently visited this location supposedly under new management. I was told the system was down and couldn’t take my order. I suggested for him too add it up and I would throw in a extra couple of Buck’s too cover taxes and tip. He informed me he couldn’t do this. I then asked too see manager he informed me he was. What a joke I won’t be back

I learned James took this place over about a month ago. It is important to him to provide good service and please his customers. Happy to find a place that values making it fresh and using fresh ingredients. My husband loved his Cajan burrito. Give this place a try.

Still trying to figure out what’s so high tech about this place? Thought it was the wrapping (like pita xtreme) where you can strategically eat it and wrap the leftovers for later. Nope, just aluminum foil! The décor tries to look futuristic but looks cheap and what’s up with the surfing/​beach photos?

Amazing street taco ! I stopped coming here years ago but much improved taste and service.

Like another poster mentioned, this place has really gone downhill. Where’s the love, man? The service is fair at best and the food has gone from good to sometimes acceptable. My wife and I also have been doing the Burrito member thing where you build up points for each purchase you make, and after 100 points you get a free burrito. It’s almost comical as our points have dissappeared several times as we’ve gotten close to 100 points. I’ve mentioned it several times but what are they going to do? Nothing obviously. I’ve been switching to Chipotle too. The food’s not as good as High Tech used to be, but better than High Tech is now.

I used to really like this location you can see from my past review. But recently it seems everything about this location has gone downhill.
So first off the quality of the food is horrible now it seems that everything taste a lot more bland than it used to and you even receive old hard rice, mushy beans, and hard dry meat in your burrito.
Second the service here is really unwelcoming from the staff that never greets or says anything to you unless your ordering something to how dirty the whole restaurant is. If you look at the lobby floor when you walk in it has black gunk marks all over it. It looks as if they have never scrubbed or moped the floor in the lobby I can only imagine what it looks like on the floor in the kitchen. The stainless steel walls in the kitchen which should be silver are dark yellow with a thick greased look. There are spider webs and dust in all corner of the restaurant. And you do not want to hear how bad the bathrooms are!
If this is how one high tech is I imagine the rest of them are a whole lot worse. The coustomer service rep for High Tech on Unilocal Clare seems that she does not know much about resolving customer issues either. That is why I am leaving this comment as feedback to everyone that is kind enough to read it maybe they will see or notice some of the issues I have seen myself

I called in one burrito togo. The guy on the phone said no problem. It will be ten minutes. It took me fifteen minutes until I got there and my burrito was still not made. If I had known calling a head of time I would have just came in and ordered and not called. Thumbs down for Hi Tech today. They must be having Technical Difficulties!

The food is good enough. The service? Terrible. I’ve never seen someone as cold and unfriendly in a service industry. Just rude, unpersonable and grumpy. She must really hate her job.

Literally the worst burrito I have ever had. I wasn’t thinking clearly or I would have went to chipotle. My burrito was dry can you believe it dry!!!
The service was horrible the person taking my order was rude and rushed me to make a decision ugggh never again!

I don’t eat burritos often but the times I’ve been it’s been pretty darn good. There are a number of variations to their burritos which makes it a good place to go to if you want a Thai chicken burrito of sorts. Not as much meat as I would have liked but overall size of it is guaranteed you won’t be hungry afterwards. We will be back. If anything my husband eats there every week or two. :)

The surf and turf are great burritos!
Reasonable and taste delicious. Try it, they have so many variations I try to choose a different one every time I go!

Great service, we ordered Godzilla burritos steak tacos quesadillas nachos all made with high quality ingredients the Tacos were very tasty the ding is the pricing is high and the Godzilla burrito was good but not great
