I stopped by 3 times in the past 2 weeks and they are always closed. =(

Umm. 3 drinks = $ 12. That’s almost as bad as the place Jerry coined«Fivebucks» And the drinks weren’t even all that. Jackfruit smoothie was made entirely from powder mix. It was ok, but definitely not worth getting again and the Thai Iced Tea was disgusting… tasted like soap! Boobalicious…that’s how I felt for making the trip to try this place.

Great place. It’s a shame that I only just found it as I pack up to move out to western MA. I liked my first visit so much(chicken BBQ sandwich, green bubble tea) that I came back again today(BBQ beef sandwich). The food is cheap and fresh, which is unusual for Newton, where cheap and fresh are usually mutually exclusive. And very tasty. The baguette, in particular, was perfect; fluffy and moist on the inside, crusty and crisp on the outside. The owners are super friendly. I would definitely go back… if I didn’t live 100 miles away.

This is a curious little hole in the wall. I love boba but just can’t get over the fact that in CA, it’s a dollar a cup so I didn’t get one. I’m sure Californians will understand when I say«Lee’s Sandwiches.» Oh Lee’s, how I miss thee. I got the pork bahn mi, which was decently tasty. The bread was actually the right texture but they were a little skimpy on the filling. I’ve tried the pork bahn mi at several places in Chinatown and thought this was actually better than some. However, it’s not Lee’s, particularly since I didn’t walk out of here with an iced coffee and sandwich for less than $ 5. I think this is one of those places that’s fine to stop in when you’re in the neighborhood but certainly not worth going out of your way for.

I love this place. The beef bahn mi is outstanding, a really generous amount of beef. I usually make a special request for extra spicy. The people working there are also super sweet, I always end up in long random conversations with the lady making my sandwich. I highly recommend this place.

Hot noodle soups on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays have been my savior this winter! The type of soup varies each time but really, throw any asian noodle soup in front of me and I’ll eat it happily. It’s also a great chance to try something you might not usually order. I’ve never been disappointed. If you take the soup to go, they do a great job packaging it up for you so the noodles and toppings are separate. No one likes soggy noodles!

I really love this place! I kept on hearing«their banh mi isn’t as great as Chinatown’s»…I went to Chinatown and tried a few places, and their vegetarian banh mi sandwiches didn’t compare to these. I can say confidently that Bobalicious has the best vegetarian banh mi. I actually thought that it was real meat when they first handed it to me, that’s how convincing it is. It’s fresh, flavorful, and delicious. It’s slightly more expensive than what you’d get in Chinatown, but the extra dollar is more than worth it. I do have to admit that their boba teas aren’t as good as those you’ll get in Chinatown, and more pricey, but I don’t mind. I usually go for the thai iced tea with pearls. The ladies here really care about their business and customers, and are always friendly and accomodating. My one pet peeve is that it’s cash only. But there’s an ATM right across the street. All in all, highly recommended!

I don’t come here for the boba — in fact I rarely get one because I find the cost just not worth what you get. The two things I come here for: The Banh Mi — I order up the pork Banh Mi loaded with all the toppings and it comes to less than $ 5 with tax. This is one of the best deals around as it is fantastic and of great quality. The soup — The soup is definitely worth 5 stars. In fact the last soup of the season(they won’t make soup again until fall) was one of the best soups I’ve ever eaten. I keep thinking about it — so flavorful and exotic — I barely knew half the things in it, but it was awesome. Actually there is another reason I come here — the ladies that own this place are incredibly nice and really make you feel welcome. I can’t wait until soup season again!

The milk tea with boba was yummy but the pork banh mi doesn’t even begin to come close to those in Chinatown or at Phở Viet’s in the Super 88 food court. The pork was kinda dry and the bread was not even crisp. But I will give it another chance as I love the idea of having banh mi just a short drive from my house. Definitely try the milk bubble tea though. It’s creamy and some of the best I have ever had! Besides boba, it also had some other type of gelatinous cubes in there which were different colors. The boba was the right consistency too — not too hard and not too mushy. The tea is priced higher than Chinatown but it is the ‘burbs. I’ll go back to try some more food and drink menu items for sure!

I really love the bubble tea here. Yes, they do use some powder, but they also use fresh fruit and even some ice cream. Delicious. They have almost 40 flavors! My favorite is the red bean boba, but I’ve liked the other ones I’ve tried too. I guess I can see the point that people have made that it is a little on the pricier side, but it’s not a chain and they use fresh fruit, so I say it’s ok(not that I would complain if the prices went down!). My main complaint is their hours. I wish they were open more often! The owners are also super friendly. One of my coworkers got soup there once and the owner forgot to give her cilantro. The next people to go in also happen to work with us and she sent them back with the cilantro for my coworker. I’ve mostly just gotten boba here, but the spring rolls are good and I’ve heard great things about their sandwiches.

A banh mi place that isn’t in chinatown? wha? minimum of 2 stars already. they serve larger than typical banh mi(compared to phở viet’s at food court), and offer more varieties. They also do a very nice job with their selection of boba drinks, even if they are more expensive than I am used to… Let us sum up 1) higher prices than typical for banh mi and for boba tea 2) but it is conveniently located(for me) 3) better quality banh mi 4) attention to detail I call my orders in ahead of time so i don’t have to wait. Wish I could make it here on Tues or Fri for soup days!

Really tasty! I ordered a green tea boba tea, but the lady working there also gave me a sample of rose guava, made with fresh guavas. It was delicious… the next time I’m there I will order the rose guava!(And I’ll try a sandwich!) The woman working there was really sweet and friendly. I did think that the tea was too expensive. I felt like each size of the tea could have been a buck less. The extra large tea(which is really more like a large!) is more expensive than a sandwich! But it’s the only place to get boba around Newton, so I’ll shell out the dough… maybe just less frequently than I would if everything was cheaper.

I live in Arlington, but was in Newton yesterday for an art fair at the cultural center. My GF(the artist) and I needed some lunch so we Unilocaled around and found this place — we’re both big boba tea fans, and the fact that they had food clinched the deal. Two big thumbs up for Boba-licious! We both found our teas delicious(I had Taro, she had Thai tea), and I liked the multi-colored boba and the fact that it was neither too sweet nor too hard or soft. The sandwiches were off the hook tasty — we got a beef and a chicken and split them both. The ingredients all tasted very fresh(mm cilantro) and I’d take the Vietnamese version over an American sub any day. If I lived in the neighborhood I’d totally be a regular at this place.

Well I’m knocking it down a star since I have now experienced far better boba. The drawback is that they primarily use powders to flavor the drinks, but the boba itself is chewy and delicious! It still gets credit for being a cute shop with pleasant employees and I’m pretty sure it’s one of the only places to get boba tea in my neighborhood. Oh and beware of odd hours like 10 — 6 and closed on Sunday. I guess that leaves me with only a Saturday visit.

I like this place a lot. I passed it the other day when I was at work and dragged my little sister here. It still has the look of an ice cream parlor — the massive menu board boasts a ton of tea flavors and some different kinds of sandwiches and desserts that I want to come back and try. The ladies who were working there were really nice and though my tea wouldn’t seal two times in a row, the wait seemed worth it. The places seems to be crawling with high school students, which is good, I guess — it means they might stick around longer than other businesses have in that location. I want to try the eraser looking rainbow jello cubes, or the fresh rolls. They looking interesting.

I go there with my girlfriend all the time… It is a pretty cool place located on Watertown street in this spot which usually has switching ownership every six months or so. Last year, it was an ice-cream stand. The year before, another, different ice-cream parlor… Hopefully these guys are here to stay. They have a huge selection of buble tea and their quarter inch bobas are chewy and delicious. They don’t use the traditional powder + water + sugar combination but instead add a little pezzaz to the recipe. I actually asked them about it and saw it for myself. They add a touch of ice-cream and actual fruit(ie: granny apple for the green apple boba tea) which intensifies the flavors. It’s surprisingly refreshing and I really wish that their large size was bigger. There’s a few down sides to their business though. Their prices aren’t cheap and their hours aren’t that great either. They are closed on Sundays which really sucks but make up for some of it by offering a selection of Vietnamese foods such as these subs known as(Bahn Mi) and a bunch of other pastries. So far I’ve tried many flavors and also tried their rainbow jello cubes which neither I nor my girlfriend liked; we were happy to try though. So if you want a nice bubble tea, this is the place to go. Worth the drive too, I promise! Especially since parking is usually a breeze.

Five stars because they are soooo nice. The Boba is perfectly great too. There are lots of great flavors, Taro being my favorite. My boyfriend is crazy about the hot banana milk. Like Boba? Give Bobalicious your business! Go, Bobalicious, go!

Who would think a bubble tea/Vietnamese sub shop would be found in heart of the Newton’s little Italy. Tons of flavors, and they are the following… Avocado Banana Blueberry Blue Hawaii Cherry Chocolate Coconut Coffee Cookies & Cream Fozen Hot Chocolate Green Apple Green Tea Honeydew Jackfruit Lavender Mango Mango Peach Orange & Cream Papaya Passion Fruit Peach Pina Colada Pineapple Strawberry Taro Vanilla, and Watermelon. I love the Honeydew, perfectly refreshing on a 60 degree day in March, yes it does feel like springtime. Great Bubble Tea and surprising strong and deep flavored Vietnam coffee. I’ve only tried the drinks, but the eats(pastries and subs) smell wonderful and by the look of the happy faces eating behind me they must be.
