I highly recommend Cts Computer repair. They are amazing. Every repair or question I asked was solved. I will always go to them for help and they are fair in their price!

I used CTS today for the first time and was extremely pleased. They diagnosed and fixed my Windows PC’s problem in less than 24 hours. Their rates are reasonable and the people were very courteous and friendly.

CTS has renewed my faith in computer repair. My laptop crashed and would not boot. I brought it to Micro Center where I had purchased it and learned that the warranty had expired 1 week previous. I made some noise and they reloaded the original software but I lost everything. They said computer was old (3 years) and that is why it is slow and will not work well. I brought it to CTS and within 2 days I got back a computer that was better than when I had bought it. They put in a new solid state hard drive and the thing is blazing fast and dependable. I had another issue on a work computer, trying to move only subfolders from outlook to a new computer. I was able to talk to the tech because it was tricky on what needed to be done. They did all the work same day on a Saturday so that I had it for Work on Monday. Laptop was $ 190.00 for hard drive, spyware cleanup and all labor. The outlook work, which would have taken me all day was $ 90.00, I mean talk about reasonable! I see one reviewer here had an issue with wrong CD player installed. only thing I recommend is right down and communicate what you need clearly, I own a business and it always seems to be a lack of communication that results in unhappy customers.

Beware. When they get it right, they’re good — they built a tower for me a while back.
But. when they get it wrong, their customer service is horrible. I brought in a MacBook to have the CD/​DVD drive replaced. I got it back with a CD-​only drive. When I asked them to get it right it they said «we’ll have to order the part, it will take 2 weeks» — to which I said, pull the one they put in, and I’ll take it elsewhere. They had the nerve to try to charge for the labor — when I said no way, they said, «ok, but we don’t want your business anymore.» My response — fine by me, you lost my business when you tried to charge me for your mistake.
Dumb. I had been doing a reasonable amount of business with them, and I had been recommending them.
FYI, for Mac repairs, Computer Loft in Allston is the best. MicroCenter on Mem. drive is pretty good as well.

I won’t get into the technical details of our experience with CTS, I’ll only comment on the customer service experience.
The way the computer repair went down at this place left some questions in our mind (brought the computer and it was working when attached to a monitor, after bringing it there, it stopped working… they said it was the motherboard). I didn’t have many problems with the technical explanation, but given the fact that it worked before, and after it did not, I needed some clarification.
I could not get a word in! I was just trying to ask some questions, and I could not get three words into my question without being interrupted and talked over. I asked this manager repeatedly if he could let me finish my question, and he told me (verbatim) that he had let me finish twice but I said the same thing. Therefore, he saw no need to let me ask my questions. I told him that, if I asked the same thing 15 times, it should be okay. No? I’m the customer, and since computers are expensive, I should feel comfortable with the explanation I’m getting… especially if I need to buy a new computer! He told me I could go waste my time somewhere else and hung up on me.
Shining example of customer service! So, basically, I’m sure this place might be fine for repairs, but don’t ask questions.

This is by far the best repair shop in Massachusetts! They do great work for a very affordable fee! I’ve dealt with many in the past and they can’t come close to the service provided at this shop. I would recommend to anyone who has any pc related issues to take it to this shop. Don’t waste your time anywhere else!

Quick, cost effective and very focused service. This team quickly diagnosed my Dell Studio Laptop issue and delivered a fully functional laptop back to me in less than 48 hours. My laptop wasn’t booting. They replaced the problem drive and imaged my old drive to the new one (so I lost no data and very little time.)
I’ll definitely shop with them now in addition to using them for service.

This is my second time using CTS and both times I have been amazed by how fast and cheap they were able to get the job done (both times within 3 – 4 hours).
I was there two years ago due to a hard drive failure from my company’s internal server. It was time for a new rig and I was sent there by the store (Oramac Computer’s in Watertown) that was recovering the data from the failed drive to get a new computer. I was so happy he recommended them because they put together a brand new server for me within a few hours and installed the O/​S on it as well. All I had to do was copy over the recovered data, configure the system, and we were back online. The cost for the data recovery from Oramac and the new rig from CTS was extremely affordable and both places provided excellent customer service.
Two years later (this past Friday), I was cleaning out this very server due to dust and sure enough, I dropped it no more than three inches. I go to turn it back on and… NO — HARDWARE FAILURE! The drive is clicking/​beeping and I know that is a very bad sign. Once again, I’m practically in tears knowing that I might have just lost all of our data from the last time we backed up (which would have been a days worth of database changes). This time, I was a bit more calm since I knew between Oramac and CTS, I have two companies that are going to help me out in a time of crisis. I went to Oramac as soon as they opened on Saturday and the owner was just as nice as the last time around. Unfortunately for me, this time he could not recover the drive. He still recommends I go to CTS to start getting the new drive, a RAID set up this time (you think I would have learned my lesson two years ago and have done this — not sure why I didn’t?), and then maybe go to Tech Fusion in Cambridge for the drive recovery. Tech Fusion would be a last resort due to how extremely expensive they are so I wanted to hold off until talking to CTS.
I walk into CTS and see the young lady I spoke with two years ago who I’m assuming is one of the owners (I recognized her because honestly, she’s very easy on the eyes ;)). I explained the situation, that I needed two new drives, a RAID card installed, and the O/​S installed. I explained I didn’t have luck getting the drive recovered and she says «We do data recovery here!». I was like «Come again?». «Yes, we do data recovery here. Leave your drive and we will look into it.». I explained I had no luck with Oramac (who I have had great luck with in the past), but she says to leave it anyways. I leave and cross my fingers…
I get a call less than two hours later «Hi Adam, I have great news. We were able to recover your ENTIRE DRIVE! We are going to ghost it over to the new drive and set up the RAID. It will be ready within another hour or so.». I couldn’t believe it — are you kidding me?!? You honestly just saved my entire weekend?!? I gave her a virtual hug and kiss through the phone and practically jumped in the air with excitement.
I go to pick up the server, paid the bill (which I had to take a double take as to how cheap it was — the data recovery was AT LEAST less than a ¼ of what it would have cost elsewhere), and went to my office to turn the server back on. I turned it back on and couldn’t believe my eyes — it turned back on as if nothing ever went wrong. All of the files were there, all of the database changes were in tact, and I didn’t have to spend countless hours trying to rebuild the database rows from the backup and my memory of the changes that were made since the last backup. I had to call CTS from the office to let them know how happy they made me.
If anyone has read through this entire review, just know that Watertown/​Newton area has at least two computer shops owned by small business owners that are better than any of the chain stores in the area when it comes to price and customer service for hard drive recovery and computer parts/​prices. CTS is one of them, and Oramac is the other — support these two places because they clearly deserve it. I thank both of these companies and the owners that run them, graciously. Thanks a million.

Replacing my defunct hard drive saved me from buying a new commuter. I spent many hours trying to fix the dreaded «black screen of death.» Normal checks of the hard drive revealed no issues.
The CTS folks were swift and professional.

CTS is fantastic, I have been going there for about 7 years now after getting a very good recommendation from my uncle. I am pretty good with software but not hardware so I have them put all my computers together and my server and they fix any problems I have with them. In the rare instances I have had software issues, they have solved those too. They are very reasonable price-​wise and are very good at explaining what the problem was, what caused it, and how they fixed it. I have a desktop, 2 HTPCs, a server, and a laptop and they have worked on all of them.

This is probably the most resourceful old-​school independent PC builder computer shop I have ever seen. 2000 square feet of tons and tons of parts, cases and computers under repair or being build. Shocking that there is no review. Whether you need the latest Nvidia GeForce, a virus cleaned up, or a new rig built to order, undoubtably they can do it.
