I can only attest to pastry and cookie takeout from this place — have not sat down to eat anything else. But that being said… whenever I am in the area, I make a point to come here to get some chocolate chip cookies and pastries(pain au chocolat, strawberry cream croissant, cinnamon twice). The chocolate chip cookies are nice and doughy with plenty of chocolate. You can tell yourself that it’s a scone(even though it’s not), but just so you don’t feel as bad for having chocolate chip cookies for breakfast… Pastries are buttery and flaky. So. Yum. I didn’t care for the blueberry muffin the one time I tried it.

This place surprised me in the good way with the quality of their pastries. They are so good, it makes me drool just thinking of what we tried. We had their walnut twist, which is amazing, crispy, delicious. I also loved their strawberry croissant, it’s a new twist on a croissant, but I loved the custard in the middle, full of fresh strawberries and the powder sugar on top. To die for! Their prices are decent, too. There’s a lot of seating inside, but you can’t say«no» to their big outdoor area on a beautiful day. It’s so enjoyable to indulge while seating outdoors in such a nice place. My only complaint is the customer service, the lady that helped us at the counter was distracted, messing with a gadget, we had to repeat our order a few times, didn’t feel like we matter one way or the other. Other than that, Pain Du Monde has delicious pastries, some of the best I had in a while.

Ordered Country Breakfast, which is a plate of two eggs(cooked to how you like it), two strips of bacon, and potato hash. We ordered over easy eggs which were cooked the way we liked them. The bacon wasn’t overly dry and brittle, unlike most bacon at breakfast places. I don’t like hash unless they’re fried so the hash did not taste especially great. Since it makes up most of the dish, I did not especially like the Country Breakfast. Some parts of the hash were over seasoned with what I believe was black pepper. The fried peppers and onions(I think) were better than the hash itself. We also ordered a fruit tart. The appearance was not as appealing as the ones in the display. There was a sad and slightly smushed raspberry on the edge. It tasted okay, but both dishes were not worth the price. The interior looks nice for a breakfast café. The ambience is somewhat classy. I don’t think I’ll ever come back due to the food quality and prices.

Coffee, Cocoa, and Scones! I am almost a fan! I stopped here thinking I was going to order their Eggs Benedict while I waited for American Tea to open. The shop is located just behind American Tea. Long story made short: I was not a fan of the customer service. We only ordered Coffee, Hot Chocolate and an Apricot Scone. The scone was actually pretty good. They also did not have wifi. I was thinking of coming back today for the eggs benedict but changed my mind. I think with a bit better customer service this place does have potential. It is not much of a review if it’s only based on these three things. Then again, it is a coffee shop. The shop is very clean and they do have separate men’s and women’s bathrooms that are both very clean. They also appear to have a decent size kitchen. A good scone. AOK.

Chain bakery but pretty good. Always fresh pastries and not bad coffee. Cinnamon twists are the best! It’s like croissant had a baby with brioche and was delivered by Napoleon! The dough is soft inside but flaky outside, a must try if you like cinnamon and croissants ! This one is located inside Fashion Island Mall and has seating outside as well and how you can’t love being here in this fantastic weather and best scenery of US state C A L I F O R N I A :)))

This is definitely worth a visit. Best breakfast since a few days with oatmeal & fruits, turkey sandwich and I have to say the best chai latte ever :-) One star not given because it’s a self service, people queued I was too lazy to stand in line…
