I’m giving a 5 star review because of the superb service. Our fur baby Joey means the world to us and to have a place welcome us, and him, made us feel great. Our waitress Lauren was top notch, excellent, very friendly and accommodating. Per our request, she happily brought Joey an extra biscuit and some fresh water. The rest of the staff were great as well. If you’re in the area, hungry for a meal or snack and have your fur baby with you, definitely try it out. I ordered the shrimp penne pasta and it was actually pretty good for a non-Italian restaurant.

This place has the absolute best salads I have ever had! They have a great variety of meat and fish to choose from and it is so flavorful. This place definitely knows how to make a delicious salad with the most delectable ingredients. They provide great portions of meat. I come here every time for my favorite salad varieties. Never had a bad time here. I recommend the patio outside Bloomingdales. So nice and relaxing. And the 40 Carrots frozen yoghurt is so so soooo nice and creamy. Get the mix of tart and mango to get the best of both worlds! And I add shredded coconut on top. Omg so good. Thank you 59th& Lex for a great experience. You never disappoint!!!

Since it’s been few years since we came here last, we decided to give it another shot. Luckily there were open tables in the corners for us to sit with our dog. They brought him water and biscuit. That was super nice! Our waitress, Emizabel was super nice, helpful and professional. I got the Cilantro Mint Shrimp Salad which was fresh and tasty. I loved the dressing it came with. My husband got the Veggie Burger with fries. We washed it down with Pomegranate mimosas. This was a far better experience than the last time. I’m not sure if they have a new cook but the food was dramatically better than before. Will be back for sure!

Bread: they only offer one type of bread and it’s cold Cajun shrimp salad: This flavourful salad comes with 6 shrimps. Pretzels crusted chicken: Tasty despite being a bit dry.

Beyond delicious! Tried the salmon capresse«special of the day». I also recommend the iced tea, personal favorite of mine. Love dining at the café after a successful shopping day. Thanks for great service, food, and atmosphere!

Came here for a quick lunch as all the restaurants were too busy(it was the day after Christmas). We sat in the patio, and the first thing I immediately noticed were the extremely dirty floors. There was trash that seems to be left there for days, and it was really unappealing. We got the egg salad sandwich with fries and the salmon with fettuccini. The egg salad sandwich had avocado & tomatoes, but it was pretty bland. Way too much bread to egg ratio so I didn’t even eat the bun. The fettuccini and salmon was average, it tasted fine but it was basically food to get you full. The shoestrings fries were the best item here. Did not realize how meh this restaurant was, and will not return. If it were not owned by Bloomingdales, it would not stand a chance against the other restaurants in the plaza. It’s a good spot to bring your dog though.

Not bad for a café in Bloomingdales. Wouldn’t have gone but we had a buy 1 get 1 free coupon. Plan to spend $ 20 per plate or $ 15 per sandwich after tax & tip. 5 stars for my salmon salad but 3 stars for my husband’s roast beef sandwich. My salad was flavorful and had a very large piece of salmon cooked to perfection. The roast beef sandwich was bland and simple. Nothing better than what you can make yourself at home. With the bread and butter you get at the beginning of the meal, we were very full after our dinner. It was nice to walk it off a little by exploring the mall. I recommend passing on dessert at the café and get something in the small; they have cupcakes, gelato, froyo, cookies, and more! We chose to sit on the heated patio instead of inside the café. We were very happy with our choice. Go enjoy the fresh air!

I have come here several times for lunch before. I enjoy it every time. I always try different salads when I come here as I am gluten intolerant. Today I had the Mango Chicken Salad. Yum! I will continue to visit this place again:).

We ordered and got our food within 15 min max! The server went above and beyond! I’ll be returning here… Very soon since I live across the street!

I’m not one for poor reviews, but my visit here definitely warranted one. Came here with a group for a work luncheon and was beyond disappointed in what I received. Almost everyone in my group ordered a salad, so I guess that should have been a good indicator as to what I should have ordered. Instead, I opted for an easy(and often safe choice in my opinion) a burger. The Caprese burger came out and looked moderately appetizing with the big smattering of cheese on it. However, the cheese was the only thing even remotely edible. I have eaten a lot and I mean A LOT of burgers in my lifetime and this was easily the worst I can remember. The taste can best be described as charred and was entirely inedible. I took maybe three bites before giving up. One of my biggest pet peeves is when restaurants ask you how you would like your burger or steak prepared when they have no intention of actually doing what they ask. The burger while ordered medium, was well done. And I’ve eaten plenty of well done burgers that at least have a flavor to them and don’t just taste like grill marks. I’ll admit, I made a mistake in not sending it back. However, our waiter didn’t ask if there was anything wrong with it, merely stating that the meal was big and implying that was why I hadn’t finished it. I will say though, that the fries were good and I did receive refills of my drink rather consistently. Overall, I wouldn’t return here.

My husband and I loved coming here and sitting outside. The service has been inconsistent and is lacking especially when we are the only customers. I always get a salad, they are huge and usually delicious. My husband always gets a burger but unfortunately it is usually over cooked and a few times was very bad. My favorite salad is the nicoise salad.

Great on a sunny day! The outdoor patio is amazing and great for seeing all that is happening at Fashion Island. I got the steak quinoa salad and an iced tea, both so good. Big portions – a little more than I needed! Wish the menu had a little more variety, but besides that I always enjoy!

I ordered the salad that’s not even on the menu and it came out to perfection. They are really great when it comes to accommodating.

This 59th& Lex is way better than the others. Lovely outdoor patio seating — dog friendly. Great food, drinks, service, and people watching.

A shopping excursion at Bloomingdale, followed by a chic dining experience at the 59th& Lex Café… the initial impression is indeed classic NYC sophistication! As I set my prized purchase aside, the luxuriating feeling lingered to the moment of the arrival of my Pear Lemongrass Iced Tea. The delightfully and scintillating hints of tartness contrasted playfully with the sweetness of the nectar on my ever-discerning palate! Conversely, the nondescript presentation of the Chicken & Wild Rice Soup and House Salad had only a slight effect on my ebullient mood. Now let’s proceed to the highlights of the overall experience: The service was crème de la crème and the 40 Carrots Exclusive Frozen Yogurt was refreshingly original! Au revoir *compliments of Bloomingdale*

The 3-star reviews are accurate IMHO. My wife and I came here last night because she had a BOGOF entrée coupon. I ordered the Eastern burger and she ordered the fettuccine San Remo pasta. We were both pretty unimpressed with the food. My wife said the best thing on her plate was the cup of grated parmesan on the side; pretty low-blow! The Eastern burger patty was pretty dried up and slightly overcooked. Maybe it had to be this way because it’s lamb and sausage. It just looked strange on a plate too — oversized piece of naan with two onion rings and a dried up patty inside… hmmm I like the idea and concept but poor execution. The fries were OK — some Unilocaler mentioned«Yummy fries!» — I guess so… if there’s no other places around to get fries at: T Probably what saved them was the above-average service. Our server was pretty friendly and accommodating. She left us alone at the appropriate times and checked on us when we needed it, so a plus there. I don’t know, I’m inclined to give them two stars so maybe we’ll call this a «barely-3»

Yes, they have a $ 4 happy hour menu! It’s not large, but adequate. We sat on patio and enjoyed our wine and nibbled on sweet potato fries. The people watching was a bonus and our server could not have been sweeter! A great way to spend an afternoon, if time allows.

I had lunch here with friends on the patio which is right next to the major flow of pedestrian traffic at Fashion Island. The people watching was as enjoyable as my meal. I ordered the salad special of the day which was a tarragon chicken salad. This was not chopped up chicken mixed in with mayonnaise which is a typical chicken salad. It was a much more healthy rendition with a generous portion of chopped grilled chicken, with gorgonzola, sliced pears, candied pecans and a flavorful tarragon salad dressing on the side on a bed of baby spinach. The salad was healthy, fresh and flavorful. Also, the service was attentive with a positive vibe. This is a great place to eat while catching some nice sunshine and enjoying a little people watching. Quite an interesting crowd.

‘Tis a quaint café with a wide, odd selection of salads and entrees and whatnot. Like, random ingredients thrown together that surprisingly work well together. However, it took way too long to get a poorly made poached pear and grilled chicken salad(and the chicken was really dry) and really salty chicken veggie soup. They offer complementary bread, and the service is okay. The lady was pretty attentive actually, cause I downed like 4 glasses of water before the food even came. I have tried the froyo here once before, and it was pretty difficult to share between 3 people… sooo good, and they give you a lot too! Its their«exclusive» frozen yogurt(whateva that means), so I would come to the café just for this. The food isn’t really worth the price, so I suggest going to some other lil café or restaurant in Fashion Island if you’re looking to grub.
