The Sweet Spot

Stopped in once, not a single employee around… waited then left…#notcool

Finally had to give The Sweet Spot a review after getting my second customized cake from them. Back in December they made a beautiful little spice cake with the whipped cream frosting dyed pink for my Grandmother’s 82^nd birthday. They added such cute little flowers to it for no extra charge. It was their smallest round cake but easily fed 8 people BIG pieces with leftovers. I am not a fan at all of spice cake so the fact that I found this cake so delicious is amazing. So moist and flavorful. This past weekend they made a graduation cake for my boyfriend. It was a double layer cake and was so big we had a ton of extra after the entire large party had their fill. I ordered a custom edible cake topper online and brought it to the bakery and they were able to put it on top and use matching colors for the frosting. I, again, didn’t care for the type of cake (my bf wanted chocolate) but yet again loved it anyway. They did a great job and are extremely reasonably priced. Everyone who works there has always been very friendly and helpful, even calling me the day of when I was a little late picking up to make sure everything was okay and letting me know it was ready. Wouldn’t go to any other bakery in the area for a cake for a special occasion!

The cupcakes are amazing. I bought a vanilla and buttercream, and it was definitely the best cupcake I’ve had in a long time. So good, and so cute! The coffee is great, too – I got iced coffee and I think the ice cubes are coffee! Great place, will definitely be back.

I love this place! I trust them to make EVERYTHING. They make my daughter’s birthday cake/​cupcakes every year and they made my wedding cake — a beautiful, delicious, vegan one! They have a commitment to quality products and giving their clients what they want. They go above and beyond what their clients ask for and always knock it out of the park. I won’t go anywhere else.

Very cute little place right across street from the train station parking lot. Definitely worth stopping in for a cupcake, a truffle or ice cream.
They have vegan options too (although I am not into that).
Cupcake I had was Banana Foster. Nice moist cake with frosting that wasn’t too sweet.
My daughter had the truffles, which I didn’t get to taste for fear that she would bite my hand off. LOL.

The worse place which destroyed my birthday with an awful cake that they made for $ 60.00 it was my first and last time. I just recommend do not ever try to think to go to that place I hate it till this day.

I love the variety and commitment to good food at this shop. They are my go to place for anything sweet and always buy our cakes there. They have a variety of types of coffees from all over the world and will let you taste them first to see if you like them. Fun, family friendly place!

With all the praise on Unilocal I had pretty high expectations for The Sweet Spot, but I was unfortunately disappointed. I can only speak of the ice cream I had. I got the Buck Tracks with Oreos on top. Firstly, the Oreos tasted stale. The ice cream was okay. Nothing special. I could taste bits of ice in it, and the flavor tasted like something out of a carton at the grocery store that’s been in the freezer a little too long. Other than that the store was super cute! Was also a bit pricey. Wished I’d have gone to Carvel.

I’m a cupcake snob and frankly had low expectations for this spot but I was proven wrong… so wrong.
The Elvis cupcake was AMAZING. The banana cupcake base was perfect in texture moisture and taste. Topped with delicious peanut butter frosting and a piece of chocolate covered bacon.
Service was very friendly. I’d like to come back and try their other cupcakes and assortment of teas.

There isn’t a thing here that doesn’t look mouthwateringly delicious. I typically just go for he ice cream, which is excellent and priced fair. The staff is nice and the location is perfect.
I’m looking forward to my next trip here!

I am surprised to see all the positive reviews. However, I can only give 2 stars because my husband enjoyed the coffee ice cream. However the short blonde young man behind the counter had a bad attitude that would not make us frequent this ‘spot’ again. He was genuinely irritated when asked a question, asked for a sample, argumentative when didn’t like the sample, as if it were personal. He kept talking to this girl who worked there behind the counter, and I bet he was interested in her personally and we were getting in the way. If it were me, I’d be grateful to have a summer job where he gets paid to be in air conditioning all day, in a nice town/​location, barely having to do any work at all, especially on a 95 degree day. Maybe the owners should give the position to someone who isn’t too overprivileged to scoop ice cream. As for the flavors, I don’t know what the others are talking about. I just saw pretty much the same standard ones they have anywhere (strawberry, vanilla), with a couple of exceptions and a few sherbet/​sorbet options. I have gone to the supermarket and there are more interesting flavors, such as Talenti’s sea salt and caramel gelato. For a $ 1.88 on sale I got a pint. Here a small in a cup ran $ 3.40.I am left wondering if they don’t like outsiders, because it sounds like everyone else who frequents here is a local who loves the place. I would’ve ordered a sandwich, but we were so turned off that we just paid and got out of dodge. Sadly, for us not a sweet experience at all. Too bad as we would probably have been repeat customers.

Since there isn’t an option for no stars, ill give them one because I have to. The customer service is deplorable, the owner is beyond rude and unprofessional, and I will never use this bakery for another single thing! For a place who’s products are just ok, they should learn to work on the rest of the business. As an owner of any business, it is your job and yours alone to make sure you know exactly what is going on at all times, and unfortunately that is to be desired at sweet spot. No matter what the customer should always be right, and the owner here obviously does not feel that way. Communication is key, and there is none of that here. If you want your money taken from you and no services in return, by all means call the sweet spot. Extremely disappointed!

Asked them to make a custom cake in the shape of a Nintendo Kirby character and they did a simply amazing job. The cake looked EXACTLY like the photo I provided, and it tasted great as well! Can’t recommend highly enough! Cake was reasonably priced too.

What a great little spot! Not only do they have lots of homemade options, but they offer gluten-​free and vegan option. I called them last minute about doing a small custom order to do cupcakes to reveal whether a baby was a boy or a girl. They were able to do them the next day. And they were beautiful!

The ice cream is excellent, desserts are delicious but the breakfast sandwiches are fricking amazing.

Yuuuuuum. Get the coconut ice cream. Indulge in the lrg size, you get three scoops. I also highly recommend the cherry. I got the roasted almond as well in this three scoop trio. You can sample. This trio is killer. They also have other sweets like cookies, cupcakes, brownies…

The Sweet Spot outdid themselves this time! I wanted a Turtle Ice Cream Pie for my daughters birthday. They created the most luscious, chocolate cookie crust, praline pecan decorated, smothered in carmel creation that ranks in our top 10 desserts of all time. It was a special order and really affordable. We had it filled with Swamp ice cream, vanilla with swirls of carmel, and pieces of chocolate & butterfinger inside. Heaven!

What isn’t to love!!! I went here on a sunny afternoon craving a milkshake! There was hardly a wait, and the staff was super friendly!
After a black silk stout milkshake, and strawberry milkshake were ordered, pure happiness was reached!
Side note – gluten free and vegan options! Even better!
