Rita’s Natural Food Market

This little store has the very best prices I’ve seen from Orcas Island in the San Juan Islands near Canada to Sucre, Bolivia. My wife and I only use natural personal care products. We travel extensively around the world. We know a good deal when we see it. The staff at Rita’s is knowledgeable and friendly. Support this little store. We hope it will be a part of our community indefinitely.

I noticed this place on the app «find me gluten free». While it is small, it offers SO much! There are a variety of GMO-​free, vegan, organic and gluten free options. Has veggies and fruits from farmers markets and has very competitive prices– I noticed the items I bought are cheaper than at HEB and there are more gluten free selections. It even carries skin products, pet products and vitamins. I’m so glad I found this place!

They have extremely reasonable prices (Healthy food is pricey after all) and have a tremendous selection. They also have an extremely helpful staff, If they don’t have a particular item they can usually order the item for you (I was able to place an order without a fee and I only have to wait a few days). I felt like an idiot leaving the place because a week earlier I had bought a huge bottle of this hard to find mct oil stuff on amazon rather than checking out this store first. turns out they had it in stock and six dollars cheaper than what I had paid for on amazon.

The prices are THE BEST in the area! I mean my jaw literally drops and my heart flutters with excitement when I see how good of a deal I’m getting at this place. And this is what keeps me coming back again and again. I hope they keep it like this cause they will have a customer for life! They are so much cheaper than other healthfood stores in the area and I really appreciate that because I don’t have the most money. I just want to say thank you Rita’s for keeping it affordable for us poor people out there who want to be healthy too! God bless!

A lot packed into a small space. As a paleo follower i was excited to come upon the elusive paleo bread and at a much better price than I’m used to. Cute store, and friendly environment. I will be back.

My husband and I moved to New Braunfels from Austin in December and have found a dismal selection of gluten free foods here. We did a google search and found Rita’s. When we went, we were shocked at the vast selection of gluten free products! They even have GF ice cream sandwiches!
This review isn’t just about their selection of GF products, which is so hard to find here. I called Rita’s the other day at 5:45 pm, 15 minutes before their closing because I was looking for GF hotdog buns. Surprisingly, Whole Foods in the Quarry doesn’t have it. The owner of Rita’s said that they indeed carried the hard to find product. I asked him when did he close and he said 6 pm. He then said that he would wait until 6:15 for me to show up. I looked at the rush hour traffic from my office in Alamo Heights and told him that I wasn’t going to make it.
When I got to New Braunfels, it was 6:17 pm. I decided to stop by Rita’s anyway to see if the owner might, by chance still be there. I called the number, and hallelujah, he answered!
He let me into the store and I happily bought my GF assortment of products. I really appreciated the owner going above and beyond to make sure I got my GF hotdog buns. AND their GF products are cheaper than anywhere else I’ve ever found!
I highly recommend Rita’s to anyone that is looking for health food products, GF stuff, and great prices!

I love Rita’s, best prices on GF CF Food, they also carry a large selection. Often they are busy stocking shelves or ordering but always willing to help, you may just need to ask. I love their frozen selection, I find their prices on GF bread to be the cheapest in town. I shop here often and appreciate the savings.

Very disappointed with my trip to Rita’s. My children and I went in on a Friday afternoon, it wasn’t busy at all, I was never asked if I needed any help or even spoken to. I had to go up front and find someone to ask for help. I could let all of this slide but what I can’t let go is when I asked the woman for a good soap for eczema because my four year old has it, she told me it was caused by his diet and he had a lot of GRIEF in his life. I’m sure his diet does have something to do with it but please tell me how in the world does she know by looking at my four y/​o he has a lot of grief. Then goes on tell me how when her husband and her got a divorce her daughter really suffered from it. That’s really horrible her daughter went through that, but again I ask how in the world does she know my four y/​o is grieving from a divorce because he’s not. So I’m guessing if you don’t look like you have a lot of money or you are in there with your children by yourself you’re not are to get very good service! I also heard them talking about how loyal their customers are, well just a little FYI: We are new to New Braunfels and I would have made a very loyal customer but will from now on be driving to another town to do business. I have been to many health food store and the employees are always so great and full of life but not a Rita’s. I have never felt of been so insulted.

I love Rita’s for it’s convenience, selection, good prices and most of all the costumer support. I have had a great experience every time I have been there in finding just what I need. I am a midwife and I love the convenience of being able to shop locally for my supplies as well as offering my clients a resource to help them in their pregnancies and with their families. Rita has been very helpful to me with my family as well, offering help with foods, vitamins and other supplements. I highly recommend Rita’s Natural Foods!
