So thought by this time someone would have reviewed this store after I took the pics but I guess I’m gonna have to give it a lick. So I was working a horrible cellular phone fraud job at the time in New Braunfels and had become acquainted with the little shopping center this store resides in. I saw that they had some wigs in the windows and wondered if maybe they had braiding hair for black women and a wig clamp for steadying one of my wig blocks. I went in and went back in time because this place a was definitely from the 80s serving from the décor. There was a man at the register and he introduced himself as the owner, he told me a friend had up and started the place and after he retired from being a hair product salesman, he just took over the shop. While I was looking around, I didn’t necessarily find things that were exclusively marketed for WOC but I did see products that I would have to order off Amazon or be asked if I was a stylist to get my hands on them. I was really impressed he carried a line of semi-perm hair color called Pravana which is like the holy grail of unnatural hair color – forget Manic Panic or Ion. He also carried a RNA(protein) reconstructor called Ces Cheveux that I saw a ex-hairstylist(I’m natural now because she was killing my edges) was using on me and another one I saw highly-rated on Amazon. But probably the best thing I saw here was a Denman brush. So I know that you can easily hop over to Sallys and get a Denman brush however they carry the one that has a million rows of bristles that yank hair out if you’re natural or have curly hair. The Beauty Plex carried a single, solitary Denman just for«Afro» hair and thick hair called the FreeFlow. That type of brush you have to order online. So this proved to be a treasure trove of tried and true products. Sallys is convenient but they carry a lot of gimmicks so I like that this mom and pop shop just sells what they know works. So its strength is experience in the industry and with products. This is also a salon too.
