I have a special fondness for the chicken and gouda sandwich and have introduced several friends to this great sandwich shop. I understand there is a special«twofer» all this week for Valentines Day, and I don’t want the week to slip by without taking advantage of the offer.

Didn’t know I was coming to a sandwich shop, but I am well pleased(don’t care much for sandwich shops like Subway, etc)! Had a bunch of food items I couldn’t pronounce and didn’t know anything about, but the waitress was very patient with us and brought us samples of questionable items(they turned out to be very good)! I feel like the sandwich I got(Le Parisian) was the best for me! It is made out of some kind of cured ham that was amazing! My wife and mom got the LA Italian and they were raving about theirs as well! I would definately recommend this place to anyone who wants an exceptional sandwich and very pleasant staff!

I’m really not sure how this place is getting away with 5 stars. It’s just not very good! I tried this place out for lunch, dragging a co-worker along and touting the power of Unilocal. It’s 5-stars! How could we go wrong! Well, I’ll tell you how you can go wrong. Over-priced, dry, flavorless sandwiches. That’s how you go wrong. I love food, and I didn’t bother finishing mine. I’d say more, but really, I think that’s enough to tell you how I feel about the place.

A quaint and humble place for all times of the year. Rashme and her mother made our lunch visit even more embracing. The salads and sandwiches are good size portions and very healthy, very filling, very fresh. Thank you and look forward to seeing y’all very soon!

Fantastic sandwiches and phenomenal customer service! The owners are very nice people and I am glad to promote them at my business. I had the Lettuce Wrap and it delicious but my wife had the Poulet and that was amazing. Very generous with their portions, it is a place that I will frequent often.

I came to visit fully expecting not to like it. What I bit into was a huge pile of yummmmmm. Amazing! I’m a total fan. I had the smoked Gouda and bacon special, but instead of having it on sourdough(alas, stupid diet), I had it on lettuce. My friend ordered a salad and was equally blown away by how just plain yummy it was. The price is reasonable too. I’m using them to cater a business appreciation lunch tomorrow.

It’s hard to satisfy 6 people, but we all left happy. There were 6 of us & we ordered 5 different sandwiches & a salad. I loved that they put the tomato & lettuce on the side so the sandwiches weren’t soggy. The portions were huge.(Save room for gelato). The sandwiches came with chips. It was all wonderful! The staff was very friendly & helpful. Only thing was I-maps had a hard time finding it. It’s in the Gruene Lake Village.

It’s not often one comes across a hidden gem. Genuine, hearty, fresh, and delicious. The clean and fresh environment adds to the flavor of the freshly prepared sandwiches. My chicken and goat cheese was big enough to share with another person.

This little sandwich and salad shop is phenomenal. Both their sandwiches are loaded with fresh ingredients and are pretty generous both in sandwich size and filling. The first time I ordered from them, I had the ” Poulet Almondine — Chicken Almondine: Roasted chicken with crispy fried onions, mandarin oranges & toasted almonds on a bed of mixed greens and spinach. Served with Parisian creamy citrus dressing. Ridiculously delicious and more than a heathly serving. The chicken was still moist and paired well with oranges. For added texture and taste, the almonds and fried onion strings provided a nice crunch. That salad would’ve satisfied 2 people. On the second visit, we ordered the Le Poulet — Chicken & Goat Cheese and the Le Provencal — Chicken & Gouda and half Le Provencal and half Power Salad. Le Poulet has Chicken, goat cheese, cornichons, lettuce & tomatoes on a Texan baguette. Served with fig balsamic dressing. Le Provencal consists of oven Roasted chicken, smoked Gouda, imported bacon & rustic Provencal dressing all grilled on sourdough. Served with lettuce & tomato. This sammy was perfectly grilled to provide a nice crunch at the first bite. Then you bite into that chicken and semi melted Gouda –So GOODAH!!! The Power salad has Power Salad has kidney beans, tomatoes, crispy fried onions, roasted red peppers, goat cheese and sunflower seeds on a bed of spinach Served with French Dijon mustard & honey vinaigrette. Delicious. Let me just say this, although their dressings are very well balanced, their salad don’t need it-they stand on their own. If you’re in the are shopping or about to go tubing, check this place out.

Service beyond excellent. If you want wine or beer with your sandwich, they deliver it right across the street. But she suggested that I go to the Wine shop. In my case, that was a tremendous surprise and delight. The Italia sandwich lived up to the popularity. Simply, fantastic. Quality of ingredients is high. No junk here! For desert, try the Gelato Italian ice cream, you and the kids will love it!

WOW! What a great addition to the New Braunfels food scene. I had a half sandwich/salad combo and it totally knocked my socks off. I chose the Le Provencal sandwich and it was one of the BEST sandwiches I’ve ever had. The paprika sauce was killer and the sourdough was perfectly soft and crispy. I also chose the champagne salad and it was heaven. The capers and crispy onion strings took it over the top, and the champagne dressing? Well, I wanted to drink it with a straw. I chatted with the owner a bit and she was incredibly friendly and takes so much pride in her restaurant. I can’t wait to go back!

I met the owner, Rashmi, at a networking breakfast and decided I had to give her shop a try. It was a slow afternoon and I was there around 1pm, so not only was I served a delicious sandwich, but I also got to chat a bit with Rashmi and her mother. The first thing I noticed was how clean the place was. I mean orderly, nothing out of place, and sparkling clean. It looked like I had walked onto a movie set. Not that it smelled of bleach or anything, but I am sure I could have eaten off the floors. You clean freaks will adore that about Bonjour Texas. I ordered a panini with chicken and smoked gouda and a piquante sauce, and the flavors were just perfectly balanced. One of the more delicious sandwiches I had ever eaten. I think it was the quality of the gouda … not like what you can pick up at HEB. Smokier and just delicious, and the panini bread was buttery but not to the point of being greasy. Just perfect. I understand Bonjour Texas is about to roll out gelato. I think they will be the first in town with real Italian gelato. Wish this place all the success in the world. It is worth going out of your way to have lunch there.

I’ve been to eat at this little gem twice now and LOVE it. The food is delicious and the inside is quaint and clean. I’ve been around French people and food many times. The joy of eating for them is the people around you, the coversation, and presentation of the food. This place nails it! The owner and her mom are lovely and accomodating. I’ve had the lettuce wrap sandwich with chicken and a salad. It was delicious and I left satisfied! Tip: If you are a hungry man expecting 4 – 5 oz of meat on your sandwich, you should either ask for more in person or write a bunch of tips about it on your review :) Bön appetite!

VERYSMALLPORTIONS… An Open Letter to the Staff and Owner Regarding Portion size of Meats Although, your sandwiches approximate the cafes in France, please increase the portion sizes of your meats. The«bread-to-meat» ratio on my sandwich today was about 90%/10%. Your portion of meat is actually lower than the weighed, preportioned amount that Subway Subs offers. You do not have to offer«Texas-sized» portions, but your current portion of meat is totally inappropriate for any sandwich and I actually feel cheated a bit. I am hoping this is not part of your business plan. I would pay 50 cents more for the sandwich with an adequate portion of meat. I would hope that you take this to heart. One last point: there is a restaurant in Downtown New Braunfels that also sells artisan sandwiches and soups, which I have yet to visit. But looking at the beautiful pictures of their sandwiches on Unilocal,I can see the portion sizes of their meats, and I am impressed. Just this one issue is the deciding factor in gaining a repetitive customer for years. I am just one person using this criteria, which works for me. How many others think like me? Something to think about… Now, on to the review, and I wish you luck So, I’m driving through beautiful Gruene, Tx around all the wineries and unique eclectic shops, when I decide to go get a latte at Kora Kora coffee. I noticed that most of the shops are closed today and the town was eerily dead. Someone told me that most of Gruene is shut down on Mondays just like a German town(something about the way Germans celebrate Mondays) I don’t know, I’ll have to research this one day. So, after my coffee, right next door is this recently opened(3 months) European café called Bonjour Texas. You’ve seen their story: young recent graduate of a Texas business school and family and associates who were inspired by the cafes when they lived in France for 3 years. They also lived in Italy and other places. They wanted to import the best ingredients from these countries and make great sandwiches, soups and salads that represent these countries, especially France. The bread, especially baguettes were crucial for this vision, and I think they succeeded. They source their artisan breads daily from New World Bakers in Kyle, Tx. You can have your sandwiches cold or pannini pressed, which will heat the meat to a degree and melt the cheese. Either way will be delicious. Kettle chips are included with every sandwich, though their website doesn’t mention it. They import gouda, proscuito, swiss cheese and many other unique ingredients. This place is a big hit with all the local business owners and will be one of the participants in New Braunfels taste of the town charity event. Eats: — Le Lyonaise sandwich: proscuito, imported swiss cheese, and mixed greens on a paninni-grilled French baquette. — the bread was outstanding, and when grilled the crust becomes crusty. This bread would make a great shrimp poboy and be authentic NOLA. — the proscuito was extremely salty, and there was only about 3 ozs of it and one slice of cheese($ 7.85). They need to up the meat portions on these sandwiches to at least 5 ozs. I was very underwhelmed at the portion size of the meat; it reminded me of the small meat portions on most banh mi sandwiches; however, those sandwiches are usually around $ 4ish at most Viet places. — Although, I gave this place 5 stars, due to the meager portion size of fillings – I would not come back, unless convinced otherwise. I really wish the owner would claim her Unilocal business page and post comments back to her patrons, like she probably does on her FB page. Yes, the bread was fantastic, but I’m not paying $ 7.85 for a baguette alone. I may sound like a cheapskate, and these sandwiches are DELICIOUS, but I must get VALUE when I dine anywhere. — two little mini cornicon(pickles) came with the sandwich. I would have liked to see a whole cup of these. They were only the size of a one inch pencil. Why only two? Give your customers a cup of them. — drink: They have 3 flavors of Craft brand bottled natural sugar sodas(spicy ginger beer, root beer, and Mexican cola $ 1.89) I chose ginger beer, and it was delicious. It tasted like ginger and real beer. They have fruit drinks and all sorts of European drinks such as pelligrini and Perrier water. crumbs: — the place including the unisex restroom is surgically clean. — they share a courtyard with Kora Kora coffee, and there is al fresco dining in the space. A heat lamp is there for cold nights. — vegetarian and gluten free friendly — soup of the day all made from scratch(check for daily schedule)
