There are not a lot of schools like this around here. Grandmaster Joe is friendly and approachable. I’ve been coming for 7 months now and it takes awhile to learn the techniques. It’s hard to find a school that teaches good filipino martial arts like this one, the techniques are nothing like you’ve seen before. I’ve done a little bit of self defense classes before in other schools and they even have some filipino knife techniques, in comparison this is a good place to learn self defense as well. I’ve taken Muay Thai and Brazilian JJ but this school is a good place to learn weapons and knife training and to add to your arsenal of martial arts skill.

This is a rare martial arts school! I have taken martial arts from several different schools and the experience is usually the same you show up when your age group or belt group is scheduled and then you try and catch up to the other people in the class. This school is different the grandmaster truly cares for his student and really want them to learn the art as best they can. I have a black belt in karate and I remeber how difficult it was to lear the forms and how much practice I had to put into it. The grandmaster of this dojo makes it easy to learn with his teaching style. Whether your a veteran to martial arts or just starting I definately recommend this dojo. The grandmaster works with all ages and weight groups and even has a fitness and nutrition plan if your intersted in that sort of thing. So if your looking for a great place to not only learn to protect yourself but also to grown mentally and in spirt I definitely recommend this dojo.

Life saver (literately)
I have two 3^rd graders going to this school. One of them have ADHD and major behavior issues at school. Grandmaster Joe took them in. He shows them how to develop their confident and courage. And how they can earn their peer respect. I can see a big different after 6 months. The field demonstration he setup for his school last Christmas was impressive (not too mention plenty of food for the driver, me). Grandmaster is over 7x years old but look and bounce around the Dojo mat like a martians. (i.e. Mars takes 688 earth days to orbit the Sun and its mass is only ¹⁄₃ of Earth)

this is great school of martial arts that nobody seems to know exists! i personally attend here so I will try to be as unbiased as possible. The instruction is thorough and well understood, the art itself is actually deadlier than it looks as you will learn to swing sticks (rattan) wield knives (my favorite) and the machete and bo staff. weapons alone is worth the price of admission! you will also learn empty hand training (arnis de mano) which is as deep as you want it to go. there is also grappling on saturdays for those who need a full schedule. I recommend to anyone looking at a filipino martial arts for the first time as it is really complete as it is or it may also compliment your skills if your already skilled in another art.

Love this school. Grandmaster is very knowledgeable in many subjects. The evening classes are well structured so you can advance.
The classes are accommodating and they work with you if you need to take classes other than the morning and evening classes.
I highly recommend coming here for your martial arts training.
Update:
I started taking classes in January 2013, I weighed over 370 pounds when I started. I did not have hardly any energy, could not even walk a block without getting worn out and breathing hard. When I started I could barely kick. I took classes in the Arnis De Mano under Grandmaster Joe Cardenas and Master Tony Cardenas.
Now a year and a half later, I lost over 120 pounds, 10 inches around my waist, I have a lot of energy and I am in better shape than I could ever imagine.
Grandmaster Joe Cardenas has a bonus service, if you take classes there he helps you to get into shape and helps you in nutrition and health. Grandmaster helps students and people as much as possible.
As I said before I highly recommend This school.
