Incredibly good food! You order using a form you fill out upon entry. I like this as it makes it easy to order what you want. The tacos, queso and rice were so very good. Decent beer selection too. Parking isnt good here though. We had to pay $ 8.00 in a lot nearby.

When you enter SatCo(as you must call it) head to the wall of paper pads and pencils. You’re supposed to fill out your order and hand it to the cashier to get your food. Whatever you get make sure to add chips and queso because there Texas-style yellow cheese is he best thing in the world!

Not sure how you cold possibly give this place lower than 4 stars its delicious and different from other Tex Mex places. This is not a Mexican place like some reviewers have said it is Tex Mex, get it right. Anyway, The one problem I have with the place is the ordering system and the fact that they charge for items that should already be or your food. I got the Taco salad and added beans and green peppers and onions and sour cream and guac. Everything was an add on for 50 cents more and then they forgot my green peppers and onions so I just paid for nothing. That being said I crave this place every single day. As my friend Alex Lovelace says, «Do they sell their queso by the gallon?»

Satco is a Nashville staple. It’s been around forever and is always consistently good. It’s affordable, fast, and delicious. I’ve been coming here for over 10 years and they never disappoint. Even though it’s fast paced, they never get my order wrong; and if I need anything extra they’re always very accommodating. If you’re looking for some fast, easy, delicious Tex-Mex, this is the place to go!

Great atmosphere although inside seat in was limited and it was pretty cold. Didn’t take long to get a seat though. Good tacos and chalupas. My favorite was the fish taco.

Nothing special here. Don’t be fooled — San Antonio Taco Co is just your average taco place. I was expecting authentic tacos, but I ended up with your generic bar taco experience.

Strengths: location, atmosphere, the QUESO, wings. Weaknesses: the tacos, salsa bar, making orders accurately.

I’m not sure why this place is called San Antonio tacos because it’s an insult to mexican food in San Antonio. It’s disappointing. The price is decent but the food is meh, 8 bucks for three tacos. I had better tacos elsewhere in Nashville. It probably still has business because it’s right by vanderbilt, but seriously chiptole probably has better tacos.

They provide hot and mild salsa like restaurants provide ketchup. Never seen a taco place which does that. Order was ready with in a minutes after ordering and even better was that it was fresh and healthy. Or atleast it seemed to. They have a system where you have to fill your order in a form and bring it to the cashier. I wonder they must have started doing that after a lot of confusion and errors with the orders. I thought was pretty cool though.

We stopped in for lunch at the San Antonio Taco Co one Sunday afternoon; it was beautiful weather so we were able to sit outside on the patio and enjoy the lovely fall day. Love how much outdoor seating they have. I ordered a steak fajita taco, an avocado taco, and a ground beef taco. I Loved the steak fajita the most, the ground beef a close second, and the guacamole taco– not a fan. It was like a tortilla filled with mush. The queso was delicious! My husband is obsessed and he never orders queso, so that’s a pretty big win. Biggest downside is parking. They don’t have any parking of their own, so you’re left to fend for parking all around on the streets behind the restaurant. It’s fine I guess, just not what I’m accustomed to with restaurants around the Nashville area. We will be back for steak tacos and fajitas!

I was in Nashville for a conference earlier this month and Unilocaled places close to my hotel. You could imagine my surprise to find a place called San Antonio Taco Company that was created by two Vanderbilt students from my hometown of San Anto. I didn’t get my hopes too high, but I was missing my Tex-Mex and wanted, needed, to check this place out. Now, if you check my reviews, I should have already learned to stop eating at Tex-Mex places that aren’t in the Tex-Mex capital of the world(my hometown, San Antonio), but I had a glimmer of hope because the owners are from San Antonio… First off, the menu isn’t very Tex-Mex appropriate. Tex-Mex places don’t charge you for things that belong in tacos. You shouldn’t pay to add green peppers and onions to fajita tacos, because those are the things you’re supposed to grill fajitas with when you make them. So, how did they make the fajitas without those things? Or, did they make the fajitas with them and then take them out of the tacos? And, what’s a pulled pork fajita taco? A pork fajita taco would be strips of pork grilled — did they mean carnitas? Why did the chalupas have lettuce but charge extra for tomatoes? Chalupas are supposed to have four basics: beans, lettuce, tomato, cheese. I was confused. I had the steak fajita, and the chips and queso. I also pulled salsas from the salsa bar. The tortillas were okay, the steak flavor was also okay, but the meat was rubbery. The chips and queso were also okay. The salsa bar was very depressing — everything was super chunky, like it was made of tomato paste or sauce instead of real tomatoes. What gives? Salsa’s not hard — tomatoes, cilantro, and a couple of chiles in a blender, and you’re solid. We have a fast food Tex-Mex restaurant that was started in San Antonio called Taco Cabana. Know how bad Taco Cabana is? It’s so bad, people in my father’s hometown of Laredo, Texas, didn’t go to the one location they opened in Laredo, so it closed down. It’s fast food Tex-Mex — it’s not supposed to be good. San Antonio Taco Company’s fajita taco was not as good as Taco Cabana’s fajita taco. Have the owners come back to San Antonio, re-learn how to make good SA food, and then go back and show the Tennessee folks how sabroso Tex-Mex can be. Right now, they’re just mocking our city. Service was 5/5, btw. The staff is friendly and extremely helpful.

A cool little hangout I stumbled upon. Nice laid back vibe, quick service, relatively fresh ingredients. Not particularly friendly staff(although task oriented… I did catch them on the tail end of lunch) and average cleanliness. My menu items tastes very similar to each other… but you can pretty much build whatever you want on their sheet you fill out. Very fast.

If I could give the workers a separate rating, I would give the workers 5⁄5. They’re really nice. I would also give the location and ambiance of this place 4⁄5. However, the food is just not there. I have worked next to this place for almost 5 years and this is my second time here. Honestly, the food isn’t that terrible but it’s definitely not the best food I’ve had. I remember not liking their taco because it was just so messed up by the time I got it. Today, I had chicken enchilada. They microwaved it to heat it up. I’m sure a lot of restaurants do this. I get it’s a fast food joint but McDonald’s doesn’t even microwave food lol. Taste wise, it was just ok. They give you tons of beans for the chicken enchilada platter. They share the parking lot with Panera Bread. Idk how parking is because I walk here but it’s pretty full right now and it’s only 12:30. Overall, it’s quick and simple. Like I said, it’s nothing great but I would still come back.

For a few years, the quality had slipped, but the last couple of visits have been really great. This weekend, we were greeted by one of the bussers, who asked whether we wanted to dine in or out before we even got in the line. As we turned in our orders, I heard our names called as we were paying. We collected our food and the gentleman who greeted us had already prepared plenty of salsa, utensils and napkins on a tray for us. We sat and ate and he checked in on us when our chips needed a refill. As we left, he insisted on taking our trash. So, not only is the food as good as it has ever been, maybe better. The queso is still tops for Nashville and the steak fajitas delicious. And the service is well above average for a fast casual college dive. $ 32 for 4, including an all you can eat teenager…

Yes this is collegy… so yes expect this to have a divy feel. Service might be a bit slow at times(especially if you have a crush of people), but I have never waited longer than 10 min in line. However what makes this place simply awesome is its TACOS… I have been here four times. What makes this a Nashville staple that I always come to is that the tacos are always taste fresh and well balanced with flavor and seasonings. It is a great bang for you buck sober or less than so. It might not be San Antonio glory exactly, but between the unique experience the piping hot delights… its worth it.

This was my first time ever visiting this joint. Yum! That sums up how I felt about this dinner. The food is cheap, fast and delicious! They have a huge outdoor patio and lots of vegetarian options(which pleases me, the vegetarian). I recommend trying the bean and cheese taco and adding guacamole. I also think everyone needs to have an order of queso and chips while here as well. Cool concept for a tex-mex spot. I will definitely be stopping in again next time I am in Nashville.

Five well deserved stars. This place really makes me feel like I’m in Texas. The big trees(although they aren’t oak trees) the massive patio, the fun atmosphere, delicious food. The shiner bock beer — ahem… only if they carried Lone Star, too. The way you order is really cool, you write your order on a piece of paper and the cashier rings you up. Genius idea. You’re not waiting on the morons in front of you to check out a menu bird and go, «lemme get uhhhhhh…» For 5 minutes. I’m really stoked I found a badass taco joint in Nashville.

Sat Co! One of my favorite Music City food stops when I come in town to visit. I like the beens and cheese, queso & Chicken Salad. Great sweet tea. And they serve beer. Tacos are yummy too. They usually refill your chips and they have salsa bar. They have a great outside seating area. Park on the street.

The first time I visited Nashville, I went to the downtown location and really enjoyed it. This trip, we decided to take the drive to this location. I was not impressed. I HATE ordering on a piece of paper, I get flustered and can’t figure out what I am doing. I got soft chicken tacos and they were terrible, the meat that was there(barely any) was over-cooked and dry and the taco was soggy wet. Everyone else with me also did not enjoy their food at all. We had 6 tacos total and 3 drinks and the total was $ 24.00, way over priced. I wish it had been a better experience because I loved it the first time we went, but after this experience, I won’t be back.

I’ve been coming to SatCo for over 15 years now, since middle school. Most recently this past weekend during a visit to Nashville my brother and I brought our girlfriends for lunch to try for the first time. Really romantic, I know. Funny thing is, everything felt the exact same. Same inexplicably amazing queso dip. Same crack-good tortillas to make some great chicken tacos. I swear, same guy behind the counter making ridiculous jokes. They have spruced the place up a bit, if you can believe it. The tables arent falling apart anymore, and the chairs are nicer. But the vibe is basically the same– super efficient ordering and service and no-nonsense delicious food. I was sad that we came during the winter– sitting out on the porch with a bucket of beers listening to the late 70s rock that seems to always be playing is one of my favorite activities. Great Nashville institution.
