Melrose Wines & Spirits

I typically do not leave 1 star reviews, but the customer service in this store is non existent. While I was browsing for a particular bottle, I asked for assistance, to which I got the rudest response to my request. The guy behind the counter, who seems to be the owner, is one of the rudest people I have ever interacted with. Customer service is 99% of the business in alcohol sales. When I also asked about allocated bourbons, he proceeded to string together a long line of obscenities on the topic. I will NEVER set foot in this store again.

Located near to the 12 South neighborhood where I live and conveniently located next to Kroger (or not so convenient for them when Kroger can sell wine in 2016…), the guys inside are nice and they’re helpful if you ask.
The prices are decent and on par with the rest of Nashville.
The selection is a bit limited compared to some of the larger warehouse stores for liquor and wine, but those places always make me feel overwhelmed anyway.
A three-​star rating is «A-​Ok» on Unilocal’s rating system. It’s not a bad rating. I would recommend folks shop here as they are «A-​OK» people. Never been blown away but never been dissed either. That’s my definition of OK. There’s nothing wrong with the place yet nothing unique… again «OK».
So, go. Shop here. And enjoy your beverage but don’t drink and drive.

Though I am not much of a drinker, I have purchased a few bottles of wine here over the years. I have always been impressed with their selection and customer service.
When I got engaged, we knew we wanted a reception venue that would allow us to bring in our own alcohol. We shopped around a few liquor stores in town, including Frugal McDougal’s, which I heard would give you the best deal in town. I discovered that Frugal would buy back unused bottles of wine (if you purchased by the case), but not unused bottles of liquor. Melrose Wine & Spirits gave me the best deal by far — I was able to purchase everything at a 10% discount, they helped to make sure we had plenty of wine & liquor for the reception, and returning the unopened bottles was a breeze. No haggling. No issues whatsoever. They just scanned what we didn’t open, refunded our money, and took it back. They even came out to the car and helped us carry it back in the store.
I highly suggest you shop at Melrose Wine & Sprits if you are hosting a wedding or large party. Can’t say enough good things about them!
