The place is back open, it’s evidently not run by the same people and I’m not sure if they’re maintaining the Berry Hill L&W name or if they’re going to be rid of that. The place has a more cookie-cutter feel now. There are no large dogs sleeping, the employee there seemed to be dressed for the job and not just dressed, and there was not a line of people cashing checks. The place is also significantly smaller now, probably because of the addition of a Firehouse Subs on the left side of the building. It appeared that the beer & cigar store was open, but I did not go over there as I was just looking for one item they did not have. Speaking of them not having stuff, they don’t have a huge selection any more. The place is about 1⁄3rd the size it used to be and probably has 1⁄6th the selection. Prices also seemed on the higher side. It went into much more middle-class territory. I sort of got the idea that this is the store a guy from a fraternity always dreamed of owning. I don’t mean that in a bad way as a note. It just has the requisite selection of booze. I’ll check it out again, but I’m going to write down prices next time since the liquor store next to the Kroger on Thomson Lane is not terribly farther than this one.

Pretty much your standard liquor store with the exception of the HUGEDOG that roams the aisles. I suppose it is friendly, but I don’t plan to take any chances. A couple things bug me here. One, it is pretty poorly lit, and not that well organized. And secondly, there are so many bottles missing prices it drove me nuts. There is no way I am going to carry 5 or 6 prospective bottles of wine to the counter to ask for a price. On the plus side, they usually have a good supply of free boxes on the front sidewalk in case you need them for moving, storage, or the like.
