Cheeseburger Charley’s

This location is no longer a Cheeseburger Charley’s, it is called WiseBurger, and I will echo Sean S.‘s review that the quality has indeed declined. I have been there twice since the change and I will not be going back for a thrid visit.
The first time I went, it must have recently changed because it was still well-​lit and looked just like Cheeseburger Charley’s except that it had tape over the name on the big overhead menu.
Since then, they have: kept the same specialty patties but use something quite inferior in quality, turned down the lights, and replaced the quality Heinz pumpable condiments with packets of a generic «dollar saver» type product. The third issue may not seem like a big deal, but it shows a downturn in quality in favor of cost-​savings.
I would like to think that most people would pay a bit more for quality food, and the only thing still quality about the food at «WiseBurger» are the fresh sliced toppings.
Sorry for the redundant use of the word quality, but if I’m going to spend $ 9 on a burger combo, I expect it to taste better than the $ 5 combo I can get from Wendy’s or McDonald’s right down the road.

The restaurant is very dark and drab now that all the Cheeseburger Charley’s advertisements are gone. At 5PM no one was in the restaurant besides the employee’s, who were sitting in a booth watching television and eating chicken wings.
The burgers taste like those frozen JTM/​Bubba burgers, with a heavy dose of onion and garlic powder poured on them. Even the French fries were bad. Add to that, it’s expensive!
There are very few good, quick places to eat in this part of town and unfortunately with Cheeseburger Charley’s being gone there’s one less.

You know, I had a feeling that one day I would find myself at Cheeseburger Charley’s for lunch since I work right down the street.
The inside was clean and for some reason felt very stark — like too clean and bright maybe? But whatever, I’m just glad it WAS clean! So the place does burgers. But not only beef burgers, but also turkey, veggie, salmon, bean, etc. Nice! I selected a veggie burger not because I am a vegan (God no, that would be like hell) but because I was trying to be slightly healthier. Instead of fries I got a bag of baked Lay’s. Once you get your burger you can take it to the fixins bar and load up on lettuce, tomato, pickles, etc and get some mustard and ketchup. I have to say, the veggie burger was pretty tasty — kind of a grilled patty with real veggies inside it.
I’m going to go on a limb and say I’ll put this one in the lunch rotation so I can try the turkey and salmon burgers.

The beefalo bison burger combo is so very tasty with cheddar. Perfect when stuck in MetroCenter at lunch time surrounded by only fast food joints and what you really want is. well. food that is fast.

Cheeseburger Charlie’s. This is a burger joint with a few locations around Nashville, one in downtown and one in Metrocenter. They have the slogan, «Good for you!» I wasn’t very interested in trying a burger place, because I just tend to avoid burgers, but my friends who are burger friendly were definitely in the mood. When you first walk in you’ll see that the restaurant has a very clean franchised feel, the art of the walls are framed pictures of pseudo-​arty looking Heinz ketchup and Mustard labels. The have standard tables, and a tall bar along the windows for seating. Everything is decorated in a very kitsch red, yellow, and black and white checks.
The best thing about Cheesburger Charlie’s is their menu. They have the standard beef burgers and cheeseburgers, and fries, but they also have the «Good for You!» menu which has a turkey burger, salmon burger, black bean burger, and veggie soy burger. This was much to my relief; it’s nice to have any kind of options when going to a burger joint. I ordered the black bean burger, I am not a vegetarian or anything, I just like veggies! The black bean burger was pretty standard, not great, but not bad either. I would totally recommend this place if you are with some friends that insist on burgers, because you will actually have a chance to eat something else, and keep your friends happy at the same time.
They have an entire salad, fixin’s bar, with two types of lettuce, two types of pickles, banana peppers, tomatoes, two types of onions, and all the regulars ketchup, mustard and mayo. So you can put whatever you want or whatever you don’t want on your burger yourself. Also, all the burgers are cooked to order, so it will always be nice and hot.
