Good view, but I don’t recommend it. We had really bad service. First, there was a rope in the clambake. That was ok, they took it off our bill. Next, two members of my group ordered fish, but the kitchen made their dishes with shrimp, and it was served to them anyway with no apologies. NEXT, our bill came and had a dessert on there that we didn’t order. Our waitress was very curt when we asked about how we would be refunded for the dessert we were accidentally charged for. They should have offered us a complimentary dessert because they made so many mistakes!

Very nice view! But more importantly, their drink a very good… very nice mango majito and margarita. They also have excellent Rhode Island style calamari. We didn’t have any else to eat, so can’t comment on rest of the menu, but from what did eat and drink it was great! They also have very good service.

Great place! Wonderful view, friendly staff and tasty food. The ahi tuna entrée is to die for as well as the crab cakes! This place never disappoints me and I’ve been coming to Rhode Island for over 5 years I always visit here.

Great service. It’s the usual breaded and deep fried menu but they accommodated us by modifying a few things to grilled. Substituted a salad for ff and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of fresh greens. Good drink menu too!

I have read all of the reviews. I have come here for years and have always enjoyed this place. The staff is always friendly and the food is always enjoyable. Tonight we had a party of five. Seated immediately. Appetizers were great! The waiter was very pleasant and helpful. The view is awesome!

Great food. The menus has been expanded. The water view is as good inside as out. House wine is very good and they make a perfect martini.

What happened?! It’s not, so not, what it once was. Our Mojito tasted like Pledge. The fried fish & chips(see my pic) was pre-frozen Costco/Sysco special: mealy, tasteless fish, deeply covered in batter, the fries are frozen & covered w something undetectable. I would be hard pressed to believe that any of the food is actually made in the kitchen(premade/frozen/bagged/or from a bucket doesn’t count). They are only open during the summer season yet there was some interior construction going on right when you enter– maybe wrap that up & be ready to go when Memorial Day wkend pops? Service was s-l-o-w. Servers are young & inexperienced. Yes, the view is still excellent as is the out door seating. However, it’s not reason enough to come here & pay too much for inedible food & drinks.

Sunday night, 6pm, during the long holiday weekend and we found ourselves in the usual Narragansett dinner dilemma– long, long lines and wait times. While we pondered whether to make our kids suffer through the lines of the more popular seafood shacks, something in our peripheral vision caught our eye– Hammerhead Grill! Looks are deceiving at first in terms of curb appeal. The place looks clean and nice, but the deck on the front of the building that you can see from the street is empty because everyone is sitting on the huge back deck overlooking the water. We didn’t know this at first, however, so it looked like the Hammerhead was completely dead. Wrong! We went upstairs and met with the hostess who immediately took us to a table out on the deck overlooking the bay. There were tons of people out there– it was perfect. The menu offers a wide array of items. I went with the fried clam special. I am not a big fan of french fries, especially with an entrée of fried food(too much), so I requested a side salad instead. They happily accommodated, but when our orders came out I suddenly regretted not getting fries. Why? Hammerhead doesn’t use those thick, heavy, dense«steak fry» type of french fries. Nope. They use these big, light, crunchy, delicious french fries that are just delightful, crispy to perfection. Needless to stay, I stole some off my family’s plates. ;) One of our boys ordered from the kid’s meal and got a very generous cheeseburger on a high quality, fluffy roll. He was very pleased. The other ordered a chicken parm sandwich and again, fantastic bread. My husband’s fish & chips were light and crispy– he was very pleased. The chowder was also very good! We had sangria and dark ‘n stormies to drink as well– not bad. The service was also great, our waitress was very friendly and attentive! All in all, it was a delightful meal overlooking the bay. I think everyone should give Hammerhead a try. We couldn’t believe people were standing outside for hours waiting in line just a few feet away when they could be up relaxing at the Hammerhead. I recommend the management of Hammerhead put up a sign that says, «Enjoy our huge back deck overlooking the water» or something to show that there is much more up there than an empty deck overlooking the street. We will definitely be back! I can’t wait to try the breakfast, not to mention the reggae band on Thursday nights! ~D~

Been there a bunch of times. But I’m starting to think that the food is store bought, like the prepared, frozen stuffed sole, crab cakes, tuna that can be bought at Sam’s Club. The rice and veggie mix feels that way too. Bummer because Hammerhead and Bön Vu can be fun places.
