MOD Pizza

Very disappointed in the food and the service in this restaurant. We have heard good things about it but our experience was not very good at all. The pizza was dry and the toppings were skimpy. The service staff were not very friendly and seemed apathetic about what they were doing.
I would never return here more or recommend to my friends.
Mod needs better management and more enthusiastic employees to be successful.

Good value for money. Same concept like pie pizza near by but I found this place better and the staff was also good.

All their pizzas are made fresh to order! Have several sizes for you to pick from… I have never have so many toppings in a pizza in my life and they cooked up so quickly, probably due to the fact its thin :)

The staff and food were awesome. One of our pizzas came out wrong and they made it the correct way right away. Even later the manager came out and personally apologized and gave us a cinnamon mod pie and a coupon for next time. That’s amazing customer service and was so completely unexpected. I would have come back without the extra apology but now I’m really excited to go back to a place that values their customers. Thanks again to Paul and the rest of the MOD Pizza crew! Keep up the great work!

Right off the bat — my reason for 3 stars only is he fruit flies that were awful by the drink station– and present everywhere else. When my sister asked why they were all over she was told it’s no big deal just fruit flies. Gross. She mentioned that she hoped it wasn’t run by young people as it appeared — because they’ll run it into the ground with those answers.
On to the rest! Love the concept! Don’t think prices are bad and it was very good! It was the fastest pizza I have ever had which was a bonus. By the time I paid, got my drink and situated my daughter, it was finished!
So I gave it a 3 due to fruit fly infestation but otherwise it would be higher

The pizza is fantastic. Kaitie recommended fresh ingredients rubbing a butter garlic crust with fresh basil and cheeses. She has a friendly helpful attitude and I will always recommend this place, a great go to… and the pizza made, to your order, prepared in front of you, is ready so fast.amazing.yummy.

Love this place! They’re so great with gluten and dairy allergies and the staff is always so sweet and attentive.

Went here with my lunch crew to finally check it out.
From an interior design standpoint, it was similar to Chipotle, but with more modern chairs and nicer wood tables. Very bright, airy, energetic vibe to this please. You walk in and directly face their pizza menu options. You can choose from one of their 10 or so choices or can make your own.
Service was very good and personable as they took my order.
All their pizzas are made fresh to order. They have 2 sizes, 6″ for about $ 5 and 11″ for about $ 8. I wasn’t overly hungry so I went with the 6″ pizza, much to the shock, awe and utter disappointment of my lunch cohorts, some of whom may or may not have required smelling salts from the utter shock of my decision. Being a man and loving salt and no pizza should have less than 3 meats, I ordered the mad dog (sausage, pepperoni, meatball, cheese, sauce) but had them also add on some mushrooms & olives. They put the pizza in some wood fire oven. The pizza came out 5 minutes later. They call your name to the counter & then offer to add a ‘finishing sauce’ to it. Lovely, unexpected bonus. There were about 8 options, some of which sounded very good. However, with it being my first time, I wanted to see how they did the basics first before doctoring it up.
I saw they had fountain Coke as an option (big plus in my book), along with beer or wine. Since it was lunch, I had to stick with pop so I, being a Diet Coke addict, ordered the large pop. Sadly, they only offer one size glass and it’s about 12 oz without ice. Suffice to say, I went back for a few refills.
My friend bought lunch so my 6″ mini pizza & pop were probably $ 8. Li’l pricey for pop & 6″ pizza in my opinion.
The pizza itself was very good. Nice sauce, cheese, good thin crisp crust. Was a little charred on the bottom & crust but not terribly so, nor enough to deter me.
All in all, an ejoyable lunch experience. Very similar to Pie 5 up the street, but I actually prefer this pizza and the ambience to this place to theirs. The only minor drawbacks to me were the price and the fountain pop glasses could be either larger or at least offer a larger glass for those of us with larger than normal thirst/​pop addictions. I’ll be back!

Ok so I have to admit if we didn’t have a coupon that was expiring today we wouldn’t have tried this place.
But alas we did and we were so pleased.

We bought a mini and a regular size pizza today.
The iced tea was really good too.
Simple décor but very trendy.
Staff was pleasant too.

The pizza salad is everything!!! Great variety of toppings. although I would suggest some non-​meat options (shrimp, tofu, veggie meat, etc.) Awesome drinks too! Can’t wait to go back!

This pizza is off the chain! I love everything about it, so flavorful! And I’m a big crust person so I am very pleased with their crust, cute little place I just get order out, I’ll be back for more on my chest days! Good job guys!

I liked the options and pricing, it has the city feel in the suburbs. Quality ingredients and good beer selection. Vegan options a plus

I love this pizza so much! It’s such a great concept for diners to be able to choose our own toppings and have it cooked up so quickly. And the toppings!!! I had never thought to put rosemary on pizza, but let me tell you, it’s delicious!
I get the following toppings: red sauce, basil, mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses, mushrooms, roasted garlic, tomatoes, and extra rosemary.
Their pesto dipping sauce is pretty fab, too. (You can also get this as a topping.) You can get as many toppings as you want, and it doesn’t cost any more!
I order the MOD size, and that’s good for two meals for me.
The staff are super nice, and they call out Hello when you come in. When I eat in, I love the music selection that plays. There’s a mix of Ska, punk, and alternative.

This may have been one of my worst casual fast restaurant experiences ever. My pizza was simple from the menu yet they forgot to fire it. After 15 minutes they did not apologize only said that they would cook it now. After another 10 minutes my order was ready but they then realized they never cooked my wife’s margarita pizza either. Again no apology no this pizza place in 30 minutes with no food.
Spoke to the manager he was semi sarcastic and unapologetic but offered to refund our purchase which was a bit odd because we never received the food. Why would they have charged us for something they never provided.
Bottom line good concept but they have an amateur staff with an attitude on the front line which is hurting the business.

I really wish I could like MOD Pizza. I’ve been waiting since October 2012 (when I moved here) to get a pizza place in Naperville that has vegan cheeze. MOD Pizza has vegan cheeze. But guess what… even though they offer vegan cheeze, their SAUCE has DAIRY cheese in it. Seriously, what the eff!!!
So, if you’re vegan, and want to eat a pizza with NO SAUCE, I highly recommend MOD Pizza. The toppings are excellent and the prices amazing. Unfortunately, you won’t get a real pizza, because there will be no sauce between the crust and your cheeze /​toppings.
I will not be back unless and until MOD Pizza figures out that real marinara sauce is made with tomatoes, olive oil and salt, with perhaps a pinch of basil. (See, there’s no cheese in that ingredient list.)

Just noticed this newly renovated location, former Johnny Rockets, has become a pizzeria. The new Unilocal app shows you suggestions from the home page now and voila, a new spot to check out after the movie. With Pie Five being a new favorite, I figured I would see if the MOD SQUAD could be as enjoyable. They have a great teaser video to see here on Yel. The majority of the employees were «high energy» and a few who were certainly out of place. Overall I prefer Pie Five Pizza’s crust, and spicy sauce. The 11″ and 2 salads could make the perfect combo meal for 2. I like the layout and size of this location. Nice alfresco dining area too.

Checked out this place yesterday for a late lunch. Since we weren’t that hungry, my husband and I decided to split a mini pizza and some garlic sticks. The selections all sounded amazing but we decided to stick to the basic «mad dog» pizza. The pizza was pretty tasty, even though it took a little longer than expected for them to make it. We dipped our garlic sticks in sri rancha sauce, which was the highlight of it all. In other words, we had a great experience and will definitely come back.

We stopped in this week before catching a movie-​we were greeted promptly and not rushed at all while we looked at the menu options since it was our first time. What I really like is that you can get ANY toppings for the same price. Just want cheese? It’s the same price as it is if you load that pizza up with every topping they have. Pretty neat.
I got the mini and my fiancé got the mod and the size difference was actually pretty big, I didn’t realize how small mine was but that’s ok. It’s sort of like Subway, you walk down the line and let them know what you want on your pizza while picking from all the toppings. They then put the pizza in a large brick oven which took about 6 – 7 minutes. I got mine with olives and pepperoni and my fiancé got bacon. We both loved our pizzas. We also got the small garlic sticks. I was a little disappointed in those. they were pretty flat with not a lot of taste. I would maybe ask for the large and add extra garlic next time.
We each got a soda as well and I think it came out to maybe $ 20. After dinner my fiancé got a float as well, they give you a cup of ice cream and then he went to the soda fountain and added the root beer.
The service was very good and someone who I guess was the manager was walking around to all the tables, calling the customers by their names and checking in. I thought that was awesome. We will definitely be back.
