The tacos here are absolutely amazing. The beef and chicken tacos are a solid choice. Really nice and flavorful. Both the green and red sauces are made to perfection. Don’t forget to grab the grilled onions which go great with the tacos. All the tacos are priced at $ 1.80 each which in the bay area can’t be beat. They aren’t super filling so depending on how hungry you are I would recommend getting at least 4 tacos. Wish this place was open during the day but they’re only open from 6.30pm — 12am. Bring along some cash if you’re looking to avoid the $ 1 credit card fee.

Get the campechano! Bummed there’s no longer seating but that’s more mountain views fault.

It’s a little expensive for street food. The tacos are a bit too salty and not particularly memorable. But it’s decent and open late, and you can help yourself to two salsas and fried onions.

They set up shop in the Clyde’s liquor store parking lot in the evenings(it’s actually a great little liquor store with a solid wine selection and very reasonable prices). At least once every couple weeks I swing by on my way home from work to grab a nice six pack of beer or bottle of wine from Clyde’s and a quick dinner from Cheztakos. I agree with other posters about the regular chicken tacos — the meat is bland. That said, the Campechano or El Sabroson is A MUSTTRY. It’s a delicious mixture of grilled meats and onions, bell peppers, etc with cheese melted into the mixture. They serve it with corn tortillas on the side and you can just scoop in the filling and make your own little soft tacos. Their sides(salsas and pickled veggies, etc) are delicious and perfectly compliment this dish. I usually bring my own tupperware and they’ll fill it up with the order and I take everything home hot and fresh. For 10 bucks it’s enough for a 2 – 3 person dinner(6 – 7 soft tacos) which is flat out a steal.

First time around they were delicious, full of meat and on point. Second time around I said NOONIONS clearly and all the tacos had them. WTH?!? The carnitas were also super super fatty and very little meat in them. Gross.

I drove past this taco trailer stand next to a liquor store many times. It has a bright colored sign and lights that grab your attention. At first glance I said to myself could this carnival taco stand really be all that? So finally as I was adventuring for some new flavor in my life, I decided to stop in and see if they could cure my hunger. Sure enough they were up to it. They had brisket on there list of meat choices, this was something I had not seen at other taco stands in the past. So I ordered a regular burrito with brisket and sure enough it was flavorful and made my night. They also offer some orange sauce and green sauce to smother your meal at will. The orange sauce was quality. Now you too should try this spot when aimlessly traveling down the El Camino Real in search of food.

We used to frequent Super Taqueria a little farther down El Camino until I realized their seasoning made me stomach realllll angry. Cheztakos doesn’t look like much, but their al pastor and carnitas ANYTHING is on point. We love their burritos or tacos and all the salsas. Highly recommend if you’re looking for an easy dinner to pick up or eat outside on a nice night.

I think in general burritos should be bought at food trucks, and this one does the trick for me. One of my favorite spots to get burritos in Mountain View, the other one being Mamacitas on showers street close to San Antonio and El Camino. What I like: * Quick: there’s almost never a line. * Service: it’s what you’d expect. They do make an effort to post signs and the menu in English, which other food trucks in Sunnyvale and San Jose don’t bother doing. * Food: it’s very tasty and generous portions. * Value: restaurants can’t compete on value, food is solid and prices are cheap. I switch between this place and Mamacitas for regular burrito cravings. Recently I’ve favored Mamacitas, but this place is much more conveniently located being near Castro.

The food is amazing. This is my go-to destination for most late night hunger pangs. I love the El Sabroson and Campechano.

This is a stationary food truck place with authentic Mexican tacos, burritos, etc. I saw this truck on many occasions and was eager to try it. Finally found it one lunch time hour. Had the carne asada and lengua taco plain as I’m not a fan of cilantro or raw onions. Tasty enough. They don’t have an extensive menu but sign says they’re about to offer more stuff.

Not a great experience, although we did go very near closing. Veggie burrito was mostly onions and not palatable.

«Cheztakos!!!» …Is what my cousin said after we went out in the town for some libations and craving some late night mexican food. Having been on the bay side for a few days and realizing I have not yet tried a burrito yet, I was all hands on board! Inside a food truck in a parking lot next to a liquor store, this place instantly peaked my interest without it looking«chainy» at all. Let’s get to it, the menu offered standard tacos, quesadillas, toras, gringas, but my eye was on the prize: the burritos! I got the carnitas burrito which came with onion, rice, beans, and cheese all inside a soft flour tortilla. The tortilla is really what made this pleasurable for me, it was just soft enough to not fall apart on me and meld into my hand for the perfect burrito holding. They had these awesome tomatillo sauces as well which were like icing on the cake for the whole experience. Even though I had dinner, eating here a few hours later was totally worth it, actually the truth is, I am always hungry so I am glad I ate here and got experience it!

Chicken and pork tacos are great, but they run out of onions quickly, and it takes a while for them to refill. Now open for lunch(see picture)!

Mountain view has lacked good Mexican spots that are open late. I’ve tried all the burrito spots around here, and they were mostly«meh». I was craving some tacos like I grew up with in LA, and I finally found it! I was driving to Sunnyvale to get my al pastor fix(Rubys is delicious!!) but now I have cheztakos 10minutes away. I tried coming here months ago after 10pm and they were sadly closed, but tried tonight around 10:30 and success! I tried the asada, al pastor, and carnitas and they were all delicious, but I think the asada and pastor had more flavor. The red and green salsas are great when mixed together with a bunch of lime. Definitely coming back!

I have been to this taco truck a few times. Main reason is its close proximity to my house. But I wish they had fish tacos(I don’t eat much meat), and you can’t get any chips here either(which I feel should be a staple with all authentic Mexican meals). The menu is very limited. Pork and chicken in your taco, type thing. I get beans. Not much to it. Wish it was a kick ass taco truck cause my husband and I would probably go weekly if it was. We are trying to find a good authentic Mexican food vendor close by and so far places are wanting.

I used to love this place… I really really did. You could tell from the 5 stars I gave. But the quality of the food has gone down. The quality of meats that they use are not good. I recommend not ordering the brisket unless you want chunks of fat in every bite. Plain, disgusting chunks of fat. Chicken is bland and the carne asada is chewy. They used to toast the corn tortilla a little bit for that extra crunch, but they don’t anymore. Their only saving grace is the delicious salsas. And if they have caramelized onions. But other than that, I’m not sure I’d come back anymore.

Had a late night taco craving and this was the only spot open past 10:30. Parking is pretty tight so we ended up parking in the lot next door. Ordered three carne asada tacos with everything on it; onions and cilantro. They were pretty good; salsa was very tasty and the limes had a nice sweetness to them which was really good. Place gets pretty busy even at 11pm. Everything is decently priced and there’s a $ 5 minimum for credit cards. This place is a little out of my way but if I’m ever in the area again, I’d come back and try a burrito

One thing I don’t like is now they CLOSEATTEN pm NOT midnight! Pretty good and so practical on my way back nights from the caltrain station, it’s really nice have a place outside to sit in the dying heat of the bay area at night, well lit and the tacos are pretty good. At 1.80 apiece they’re a bit on the pricey side for tacos. No credit card below 5 $. Also alcohol is strictly prohibited(so no beer with your tacos) but again, tacos are pretty good and though in a parking lot, nice seating arrangements. I go regularly, it hits the spot, if it’s on your way, I suggest you make the stop.

The salsa is the best here. Make sure to grab extra sautéed onions and peppers. I like the lengua, chorizo and carnitas tacos here.

When I am too lazy to go all the way to San Jose for Jalisco taqueria(which I favor over iguanas and la vics hands down), I go here! It’s a nice place to get something fast. On their quesadillas, I feel like they basically scrape on a thin layer of their cheese, so I always say extra cheese. Their suadero is legit. Very tasty. The Alambre is a big plate of meats, bell peppers, cheese, and onions with tortillas on top which is nice so you just make a bunch of tacos… The meats we got were chorizo, asada, and al pastor. I myself haven’t been a fan of their burritos but my boyfriend will get one once in a while but he says the tacos are more worth it here. All in all, pretty good food. The cons: no sour cream or guacamole here

After attending Wrestlemania 31, we were hungry and encountered this taco truck in close proximity to our hotel. it was very busy with only two people working. One on cook detail and the other taking orders. I waited approximately 7 minutes before being helped. Tacos were a bit pricey($ 1.80 each). We ordered 5 Al pastor and two of asada, plus a Tamarindo drink -$ 15, ouch! I’m from Central valley and we have Al Rico Tacos 2 for $ 1.25. The Al-Pastor was okay, have had way better(Don Pepe’s) and the asada was tiny pieces of meat, definitely not worth $ 1.80 each. The red salsa was a bit spicy but not to flavorful. Plenty of condiments available(radishes, lemons, guacamole, napkins) and the serving shelves on truck were clean. A couple of tables w/chairs to sit and convenient located to a liquor store which most have mentioned. I rate Cheztakos a solid 3 stars(A-OK)

I love Cheztakos!!! LOL I like how this place makes you seem excited everytime you say its name ;) So. living in SoCal, I’d say there’s TONS of legit, authentic Mexican joints around. I feel like since this is in NorCal, it’s farther from Mexico and therefore less Mexicans and therefore less authentic Mexican food? Uhhhhhhhh am I doing this right? LOL jk though… I think. But seriously what do I know, I’ve never been to Mexico. All I know is that the tacos here are bomb! I ordered 4 different kinds — brisket, al pastor, cabeza, and asada. The brisket was by far my fave. So much meltage in my mouth! The cabeza was really yummy too, but I’ve had better before(not by much). Same goes for the other ones, but honestly they were all very tasty! I think the game changer here is the sauces. They have a row of condiments(lemons, radish, etc.) and there are green and orange sauces… can’t remember which one I liked better but I believe it was the green? They’re both a bit spicy, I love it! But the sauce really really makes the tacos. Do NOT forget to get some! There’s also some sauteed onions along with spicy ass peppers(seriously watch out) to go with your tacos. I like the onions, so yums. Excellent job Cheztakos!!!

Incredibly satisfying and convenient. You’ve probably driven by this taco trunk dozens of times and the curiosity may have poked you a few of those times. While there’s nothing spectacular about these tacos(no, they’re not worth driving miles and miles to try), they are delicious and convenient if you’re around the area. I’m only talking about the tacos. I tried their torta thinking it would be the crunchy/crispy type that I know and love from El Farolito’s but they use hamburger buns, which makes for a very soggy torta. I’d say stick to their tacos… Al Pastor… they’re money. The customer service is straight up — no fuss — and the food comes out pretty quickly… and it’s cheap!

Still so good! The Tacomania truck got a paint job, now it screams«CHEZTAKOS!!!» across the top, but it’s the same great truck. The tacos themselves are very good to begin with, but become even better with their awesome salsas and the free grilled onions and peppers!
