Really great food but I wish they had delivery, and a charge card machine. –1 star ONLYFORTHIS! Food generally slays the competition in Bloomfield area. I’ve called ahead, and picked up, and what strikes me about this place is, they have noticeably better food than most Chinese found in my section of Bloomfield. It seems Essex County in general has really lackluster Chinese food, and as we know, Chinese cuisine is like the chameleon, changed and influenced by its surroundings, so perhaps they think we don’t like good food??? Well that’s not the case here. The simplest things here really shine, I’ve had really crispy, fresh egg rolls, the best I’ve remembered having, the most excellent Lo Mein, and hands down the tastiest boneless barbecue spare ribs ever– tender, delicious in a really delicious sweet and tangy sauce(like you’ve had before, only better). Every dish I’ve had here is excellent, the problem is, no delivery. If these guys read reviews here, you should take note, you’re better than the takeout available, and with the addition of a charge card swipe on a smartphone, you just may double your business and make a big old fattie very happy.

I have been a happy customer for more than 20 years. I hate being lied to. Try using your credit card. They lie! Either take credit cards or don’t but please TELLTHETRUTH!

It’s just a whole-in-the-wall and doesn’t deliver, but the food is consistently very good, and it’s incredibly quick. If you’re hungry and need take out right away, not in 45 minutes or an hour, this is your go to place.

This little Chinese takeout it’s definitely a small gem in Montclair. They only have one table by the door but they have a little park right across the street that has 2 concrete tables and seats so you can enjoy the weather. Although this take out looks like a hole in wall it makes up for the quality of food they provide. We have been ordering from here since we moved into NJ a little over 10 years ago. I must say can’t recall having any bad days with them. No question one of the better places to buy from… The only place I know that leaves their sauces out for the taking. While other place charge u for extras. Way to go Wa-Chung!!! They do have a few small negatives like they are strictly a cash place and they don’t have plastic knives but it’s not the end of the world. Especially when the food you get is good.

Just moved to Montclair 6 months ago and have tried a ton of different chinese food locations in the area, and none of them are as delicious as this place!

CASH — this place looked ready for a failed inspection and their food was marginal. I trashed the kung pao shrimp with peanuts when I got home because it smelled like cigarettes and bad seafood. Walking in the snow to pay the $ 3ATM at the bank next door reminded me why I love living in 2015 and will never return to this place ever again. My first Chinese in Montclair. My first visit and my last. Next.

For Chinese food in town this is my second choice. T.S. MA is my first choice, but is a lil expensive. Nothing amazing about this place. I just go here when I want basic chinese

I can’t, in good conscience, give this five stars, but given the weird low star reviews(competitors?), I feel bad only giving Wahchung 4 stars. Get the right thing(try the salt and pepper shrimp for example) and you’ll be delighted. This is a good restaurant with a solid management that’s been here for years. Hands down no contest over TS-Ma. Absolutely no atmosphere, but that makes it a fun, divey sort of place. All the high school kids can be found here in the afternoon. You can see the food made in front of you. Don’t forget the packets of hot sauce and mustard. I’m craving it already. Maybe that’s what we’ll have for lunch today.

Best Chinese in Montclair. Always the same, adorable people working in the kitchen, the same friendly woman behind the counter. Consistent, tasty, and exactly what you want when you feel like some good Chinese food. Yum!

It’s simple chinese take-out, not an upscale restaurant(or really a restaurant at all — it’s tiny with one table to sit at while you wait), so I’ll rate it as such. I’ve tried many of the local joints, plenty in NYC and every one in Hoboken, and while there are places that compare, none of ‘em have been better(taste, quality, price, portion sizes and speed).

Americanized Chinese takeout food. Nothing will blow you away, but it’s a better takeout joint than many other places in the area, and they put out consistently good food. Again, you’re not going here for authentic Chinese food, nor are you going here to dine in, but as far as takeout Chinese food goes, this is one of the better joints in the local area.

How does someone say«it’s great» and give it three stars? This is a great local take out place. It’s been around since at least 1988 and that speaks highly of a take out Chinese place, in a town full of overpriced snooty niche restaurants and vegan no fat no taste dolphin safe cafes. No take out place is going to be «gourmet», it’s a take out place for goodness sakes. The place is very clean and you can watch your food being made in front of you.

Tiny place(there is one table) with excellent vegetable lo-mein and good prices. The dumplings are a little too doughy for my taste.

Great boneless spareribs, usually my go-to order. Can’t speak for the other foods here.

I am giving this 3.5−4 stars for a take out place. not gourmet by any means, but very solid take out quality. Always consistent and portions are good size. I typically get beef with broccoli and orange chicken, together they can feed 4 people. Entrees are around $ 9 and come with white rice. The orange chicken is fried so not super healthy but the sauce is spicy and flavored well. My only issue is they always seem to have an issue with credit card, and ask if I have cash, it is a minor thing, but sometimes I don’t carry cash. They do take Visa.

For those who are health conscience, please be careful eating food from this restaurant. When one orders SHRIMPINLOBSTER sauce, one expects shrimp and lobster. Watchung Restaurant Cinese PUTSPORK in this dish. Is pork the substitute for lobster? This is a dangerous situation for those allergic, for those who do not eat red meat or for those whose religion forbids to eat filthy pork The ingredients of the dishes are NOT listed in the menu. When we called to question mysterious chunks in LOBSTERSAUCE we were told by the restaurant’s personnel that EVERYCHINESEPERSON knows that this dish has pork in it. Well, wake up: WEAREINMONTCLAIR, NJ, USA not in CHINA.

I was looking for a decent place to get food when I was really hungry… This was not it. I ordered the«Kung Pao Chicken with Peanuts» for about $ 10, and an egg-roll. The chicken in the dish seemed to be bonded with fillers, with a semi-gelatinous, jiggly texture. If it were seitan or tofu I would have been less disturbed by it — I don’t dig«mysterious» meats. The sauce was too thick and syrupy-sweet, lacking any real punch or unique flavor. Not a single hot pepper in the dish, yet plenty, ANDPLENTYMORE of the ubiquitous green bell-pepper. The egg-roll was slightly crisp on the outside with a faint cardboard flavor. Filled with 95% cabbage and a 5% smattering of «pork»(which looks like soggy Bac~Os®) mixed in. The brown rice was good. Add one star! *__* Service is fast and friendly. Only one small table and 2 or 3 chairs — not really a space to dine in. I might be jaded from eating Chinese food in NYC and Brooklyn, but I can’t really say this was Chinese food. That’s like saying Domino’s is Italian food.
