Did someone say Nutella Latte?! Stopping in on a brutally cold Sunday evening, Trend Coffee harbors itself right across from the Wellmont & Cuban Pete’s, creating a quite atmosphere as soon as you walk in. We walked up to the counter as we didn’t see a sign for seating yourself and waited a little while for someone to take our order, but the vibe was very relaxed and only had a little chatter going on from other guests in the back room. There was nothing flashy about Trend and had some typical small bite options to order along with a good list of lattes and teas available. I first went for the Caramel Macchiato which I was going to order with two shots espresso in it, but the hostess said they already came that way, so heads up on that. When the macchiato came out, it was good, certainly drinkable, but it was already at a temperature as though it had been waiting around to cool and so I ended up wanting to drink it fast so it didn’t get cold. I enjoy a nice hot beverage so I was surprised it was not hotter when it was served. Ended up ordering the Nutella Latte to go as I didn’t see that when I made the first order and knew I had to try it out. Now that was simply the best latte I’ve ever had and it came out warm, perfect to have in my hands as we wandered the frigid February weather and tasted like an extra chocolatey hot cocoa. I would certainly stop back at Trend again in the future for some quiet time and Nutella Lattes, I just have to remember to make sure they make that latte extra hot!

Always warm and cozy in here. Great for some Saturday morning tea or coffee. Fresh made breakfast and brunch options.

This place is so absolutely rude and penny hungry! If they would just take the moment to be polite to customers, and realize that they are a dime a dozen coffee shop, they would hold their horses on being so hostile if you don’t spend an extra dollar to «use the wifi». If you want to get good coffee and good pastries LITERALLY go anywhere else.

Nice little coffee/tea shop. You can sit and do work there as they have places to sit and plenty of identified outlets. They have free wi-fi but if you’re going to be there for more than 2 hours or so you have to spend at least $ 4 – 5. That’s fair. Their pies are really amazing and the baklava is so delicious. I haven’t had more on their menu but my classmates have and recommend almost anything on their menu. I love their flavored coffees too. They have almond milk there too for those of us who don’t want cows or soy milk. The baked goods are made fresh and homemade. I can get a little loud in there so if your there to do work choose wisely. Once a week they have open mike night.

Service is friendly but strange. Coffee is average(I’m a bit of a snob), Cappucino very good, tried a pastry(my favorite: pain au chocolat) which was well below average — chocolate too sweet, pastry too dense and lacking the standard croissant flakiness, not aided by the use of a panini press for warming. Overall very nice atmosphere.

Cute atmosphere, but way overpriced for sub-par quality drinks. The price I paid here for a small latte could’ve paid for a Venti-sized cup at Starbucks. That’s absurd.

Came in for a little pick me up. Service was a little odd as you enter. No sign of wait to be seated, no assistance from the counter. We finally figured out«seat yourself». Our server was very nice and helpful. I ordered the Nutella crêpe it was alright. The décor is traditional, very typical of a coffee house, it’s also cozy. It looks like a good place to bring your laptop and study if you’re into that sorta thing. Service is alright/good but tends to be on the slow side so if you’re looking to be in and out definitely sit in the front there’s a little bar by the counter.

Stopped by quickly for a medium cup of tea($ 2.50). Walk all the way down, order, add what you want, and then go back to the counter and pay. And maybe eye the delicious cakes and cookies and order some… The minimum for card I believe is $ 7. The overall atmosphere was super cute and the café really opens up in the back. I would definitely sit here and enjoy a book or get some work done.

Cool, chill spot to have some coffee and pastries. Their apple pie is awesome. Especially if you warm it up and throw some vanilla ice cream on it. The staff is very friendly. They have free WiFi and lots of places to sit and hang out or have a nice, quiet conversation.

A++! This café has everything anyone would want! I went here for breakfast during the week. The apple pie is delicious. I had it with a pumpkin spice latte. The layout of this café is spacious, comfortable, and inviting. There are comfortable couches that you can relax near the windows, high top tables and a bacl seating area for peace and quiet so you can study or read. The bathroom is clean and gives you options for lotions air freshener, and body spray. Everything from beginning to end is figured out and executed flawlessly. I was lucky enough to meet the friendly owner here.

Updated review: I need to lower my review from 4 to 3 stars. I should say that we arrived ten minutes before they officially opened and the man who helped us welcomed and accommodated us anyway. It wasn’t all bad. BUT… Came back here today and had a breakfast sandwich — BLECH. It was clearly a frozen/microwaved job and if I hadn’t been so hungry I would’ve sent it back. I managed to get through half of it. The man who helped us was very friendly but complained about the girls who were late to work or called out last-minute as well as telling us that, although they take credit cards, they hate it because the companies are charging more these days. I had already handed him my card when he told me. I don’t think that’s exactly professional. I don’t enjoy writing«bad» reviews but I felt it necessary due to the drastic difference in my two experiences here. Original review: Cozy atmosphere. Nifty mugs with their own little spoon holders. Decent food at awesome prices. Great looking desserts(have yet to try). Excellent service.

Food is average at best, but I think you come here to hang out with friends for a good conversation or catching up; not for those in a hurry. I like the paintings that decorated their walls. While the furnitures are old, they are comfy with a touch of nostalgia. Staff here is very nice. We came late on a Friday night, almost closing time, but I guess they kept open even later due to a concert event nearby at Wellmont theater. I’ll definitely go back though to try the other desserts and just because it’s cozy.

Cute coffee house in downtown Montclair. Live music in the evening on the weekends that was pretty good. Got really loud so do not recommend seating in the back if you want to have a conversation. Had a cappuccino and it was average in a good way. Nothing outstanding and nothing bad. Split a slice of carrot cake that was just okay. There were a lot more options for desserts but we were too lazy to get up and look in the dessert case. Weird service setup, it’s not like you order your drinks and then sit down. They’ll take your order and bring it to you but then you get up to pay and can’t flag anyone down. It’s all good, just feels a bit awkward.

large coffee shop and café with a huge selection of great desserts, quiches, various sandwiches, soups, breakfast, and all sorts of coffee drinks. The proprietors are Macedonian as are some of the employees, some of the desserts have a Macedonian flare as does the great hot«salsa» served with the quiche. The place is huge and has a very nice ambience, lots of comfortable seating, in some parts you feel like in a home living room, the owners are very supportive of local musicians and there are very frequent performances and open mic nights. The President of Macedonia has dined here! It is almost like a Macedonian consulate for New Jersey)) The restroom up front is tiny but there is a huge one at the back near the small«stage» area where musicians perform. my one complaint is that The coffee itself is sometimes a bit too bitter, not sure what the deal is with it. I highly recommend the quiches, the Macedonian«black and white» dessert, the fantastic apple pie, the chocolate banana cake, the cheesecake, well I think every dessert they make is super and they have some gluten free ones if that is of interest to you(I am omnivorous, I think perhaps I am really a bear who suffered a lot of hair loss.) They have good soup! The owner/operators and staff are all quite friendly, very cool people. If you want to have a private party/get-together you can rent out the whole back room.

Decent spot. Nice, good music, the menu is on point, smooth service, great selection of teas, and not too noisy; the location is ideal as well. This is our first visit here, and will not be the last. It’s closer to us and cozy walk from home, therefore, it’s possible we might be frequent here. It took less than 10 minutes to get our orders, we were very impressed with that. We had the Mango Passion fruit tea, and Black Cherry Berry Tea, and they were awesome. We tried the Nutella crêpe with 2 scoops of ice cream, we liked it, buts it would be an unfair comparison to Crêpe in Paris, but it was convenient in pleasing our night craving taste buds. Dress code is casual, and it’s cozy inside. Everyone is relaxed, and you feel the ease and comfort in conversations. We suggest you check this place out.

Came here on a open mic night, which was nice. Got tea & French vanilla coffee with a croissant. My friend got hazel nut which was also very good. It was a nice hang out atmosphere I’d deff come back. Only down side is the scone at almost $ 5 that didn’t taste good

Boo Boo and I came here for dessert after eating near the Ramen place a few stores down. We got a crêpe, apple pie, and shared a tea. We sat in front of the store so we could watch people walking by. The back had some live music I did not want anything to do with. I didn’t noticed that the apply pie was vegan. I didn’t like the texture of the pie filling. I was too healthy and gummy. There were a lot of high chairs table that is not really inviting for people with laptop and books to lounge around. The price is the food options is reasonable.

So I went here for a Valentine’s date and I’ve been meaning to go here for the longest time. Needless to say, I’m glad I did. My friends raved about this place and I’ve been meaning to find some local cafes for me to go to during Finals week to get away from my noisy campus. Besides, I would look SO studious there too. So we enter and this place looks like a straight-up early 20th century café. Antique looking chairs, wood everywhere. From the outside, it looks like a simple Mom-and-Pop-Coffeeshop complete with linoleum and fluorescent lighting. Don’t be fooled. It looks real cozy inside. I order an Almond Latte which has slight almond flavoring with almond milk. It was actually really good! I’ll definitely come back here to do homework or just to get some coffee at some point. I thought it was a little pricey, but the quality of the drinks were actually pretty on point. Oh and there’s free WiFi. You’re welcome.

I found Trend when I needed to do some work but needed to get out of the house. I ordered a low fat cappuccino and set up camp at a table to get to work. My coffee was brought to me quickly. The coffee was good, but a little weak for my taste. Then again, I like my coffee stronger than some people, so maybe I’m a little biased on that. They do their baking on site, which is a rare find, and they have many vegan and gluten free desserts. I opted for just coffee this time, but I had my eye on the carrot cake. The one thing that struck me as odd was that at 3:30 on a saturday afternoon, the place was EMPTY. Granted, it was cold out, but I’ve never seen a coffee shop that empty on a weekend. I’d definitely go back. Having free wifi is a big thing for me, since I frequently work from home and go stir crazy.
