Pure Pita

Ordered from here a couple of times with no problem food was fresh and quick. The last time I ordered delivery they took over an hour and messed up the order then when we spoke to the manager on the phone she was trying to convince us that it wasn’t the wrong order. She finally agreed to send another order which took another hour and was freezing when it arrived. I was really disappointed cause it was my first time having a bad experience with them.
So today I decide to give them another chance. Should’ve learned from the last time I ordered from them this place has gone downhill. I decide to pick up my food instead I ordered my food the guy repeated my order and told me it would take 5 mins. I waited 25 – 30 minutes and finally my food was ready. I thought wow my food must be really fresh because it took so long. When I get to my car I checked my order and they messed up my very simple order which was pretty much chicken n rice. Like how is that possible? So I go back in and said I got the wrong thing and now wait another 10– 15 mins for my order. When I get home it looks like they gave me old chicken it was so dried I couldn’t even chew it. I was very angry that I just waited almost and hour and paid $ 16 for stale dried chicken. I will NEVER ORDER FROM THIS PLACE AGAIN! So disappointing!

Food was excellent, service prompt, and an overall good experience. I had the roasted lamb platter, harissa hummus, falafel bombs, and some of the ahi tuna tacos. Everything tastes fresh and the garlic sauce that comes with the lamb is incredible. Portion size was great and they were stingy with the lamb or tuna.

I actually love this place… The shrimp tacos were delish! Nice selection of food and a nice kids menu… I’ll definitely go back!

The first few times I ordered the food was good, however the service and food have been terrible the past two times I have ordered. I live ¼ mile from the restaurant and it has still taken over an hour to deliver. Also, my past two orders were for a turkey burger and both times I was given a beef burger. Hopefully, this doesn’t also happen to anyone with allergies or food restrictions. I won’t be ordering from here anymore.

Healthy, portioned and tasty.
I ordered the lamb platter with citrus brown rice and roasted veggies. It tasted so fresh and healthy. I really enjoyed it. The tahini was a bit watered down, but good nonetheless. The portion wasn’t large, but that is a good thing sometimes! The price wasn’t bad either. My boyfriend and I sat outside. Good service too!

Great for quick take out. Gyros are all delish. Corn salad is my favorite. All of the humus flavors are worth trying.
They recently upgraded their menu which provided more yummy options.
Workers are always very friendly.

We were originally gonna go to another place next door but the wait was 1.5 hours (valentines Eve) and we decided «no way». So we started walking up Bloomfield ave in 9 degree weather when we passed pure pita. There was 6 people in the restaurant and we were a little surprised by that so we checked Unilocal and it had a fairly good rating and BYOB. So we stayed. We were very happy with the food. We got the sample platter with all the dips. The waitress recommended it because it wasn’t on the menu. It certainly did not disappoint! There was a lot of food on the platter, so much so, I didn’t even touch the lamb Gyro I got. My daughter got the lamb rice ball and it was delicious! We ordered dessert which for me was a little disappointing because the bananas on the banana pudding were brown. That’s why this place got four stars not five. We will definitely be going back!!! Price was good and our waitress was very attentive!!! I RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR SURE
2^nd time here and it’s so delicious and we highly recommend it. It has many healthy options. We’re planning a party here for graduation. We love that it’s bring your own and that the food is awesome!!!

We’d been meaning to try this Pure Pita but hadn’t because the parking is so difficult. Last night we finally got there around 8:45 pm and the place was almost empty except for one couple seated by the window. No matter, we sat down and ordered… We ordered 4 falafal as an appetizer and. I ordered a grilled chicken pita and my partner ordered the grilled chicken platter.
While we were waiting we looked around and realized that just about every surface in the room is DARK BROWN wood… including the walls, the tables and even the ceramic tiles were simulated dark brown wood. Gives the place a very cold feeling to be sure.
The waiter was great! And he quickly came out apologizing saying it was «near closing» and that there were only two falafel pieces left but he could serve that with 2 falafel «bombs» (which are stuffed with cheese. so we said OK. What came out should not have been served as they were really almost burnt. As we were quite hungry we ate them, but I really couldn’t commend them to anyone. Then our entres came out. Wow! What a disappointment. The grilled chicken had clearly not been cooked to order and was dry and tasteless. My friend’s platter included barely warm mashed sweet potatoes and hummus dip that was flavorless and stiff. The best thing was the warm pita bread they served with it.
Again the waiter was great! Too bad the kitchen clearly doesn’t care about what its putting out!
We were really underwhelmed and won’t go back there again.

Went to this restaurant yesterday with a friend and was pleasantly surprised. Went on a Monday around 4:30pm. The service was great as was the food. We ordered a humus appetizer, the vegetarian platter and the lamb platter. The lamb was very good. Everything was good. Our server recommended everything! The cilantro lime dipping sauce was delicious. I dipped everything in it. The price is reasonable if you order reasonably.

DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY. Used to be really good for delivery. Had great portions, served in a recycled brown container, and ingredients were… there. This is my last time i’lll be ordering delivery. I ordered an arugula salad for $ 14 with chickpeas, cranberries, avocado, onions, falafel. What I got looked like the scraps of the bottom of an arugula bag (why would you chop up arugula?), 7 chickpeas, scraps of onions, and I had to search to see if there were any avocados. 4 Falafels on top were there but taste horrible. The new plastic container it came in wasn’t even full. Literally could eat this in 10 bites and I’m a small women. Stay clear. I had to add ingredients from my own fridge… really disappointed as I hardly order delivery anymore and was looking forward to a good meal.

holy wow what a pleasant surprise. day’s like today where i work from home and have paper work til late evenings like right now, i typically go on Unilocal to see who has online order because i don’t really care to talk to people as i have to type a million things in the same time. so scrolling through, i was gonna order from some other mediterranean spot, but i saw that the min. order for Pure Pita was much lower. Ordered a lamb platter with some falafel on the side and tahini sauce. it was what i want to say a proper sized serving. not massive, but not tiny, and im just a little more than satisfied with the meal. the deliver guy was super polite, and the food got here quick. only didn’t give 5 stars because the falafel was slightly overcooked.

This place is a complete rip off. You pay 10 dollars for a pita and its smaller than half of a hamburger. The chicken was so dry it was a chore to try and finish. The pita chips were disgusting. There are so many more paces in Montclair to spend your money. Falafel Hut is a great choice. Don’t waste your money here.

This place has a restaurant and does take out. We haven’t been in for a sit-​down meal but have ordered delivery/​take-​out a few times. I order the Thai Chicken Pita every time. The peanut sauce is so delicious and the chicken is grilled and juicy. I love the shredded carrots, too. I have had the California hummus as a side too and it’s delicious. This place is our go-​to light dinner take out option and its relatively cheap too. Definitely recommend.

I’m really into this place. I would take baths in the citrus garlic sauce if I could and it’s definitely good on almost everything they make.

Delivery — is a good for a quick and healthy option. I usually order the grilled chicken platter. It’s a ton of food and arrives very quickly.
Take out– Never again. We stopped in to get 2 panini to go and it took well over 30 min; longer than delivery if you can believe it. We were told after about 25 that they were out of grilled chicken and that they had to make it fresh. This confused me? Isn’t it always cooked to order? Grilled chicken breast only takes a couple of minutes on a pre-​heated grill? We were also told that the dining room orders take priority over the take out counters. I don’t understand that system at all. The only saving grace was the free soft drinks we were allowed to take.

Looking for truly healthy fresh and deliciously prepared food? This is a great choice… I had a chicken platter and chose quinoa salad and roasted vegetables as my sides… both were expertly prepared and visually appealing as well… Pure Pita Is next door to my office building so I am very happy with the addition of this eatery! If you are trying to follow a healthy Mediterranean diet this place is ideal.

Placed an order via Unilocal!And within 30 minutes, hot gyro + lamb has been delivered at our door step. That’s smooth customer service if you asked me. We were so hungry, but felt lazy to drive over, but this app has made life easier.
Now let’s talk about the food. Presentation, well done, taste, delicious as anticipated.
The pita was fresh, soft, and even though delivered, it still had that raw freshly baked flavor. The lamb was well done and adequately spiced, nicely sautéed and easy to taste.
The quinoa, and rice were perfectly cooked, not to mushy or too soft, just right. The sweet potatoes was to die for… Hmm! So much needed for his late night delicacy/​craving. Along with the quinoa salad as a base, the gyro has come in handy tonight. This is our first late night order in, and will certainly not our last!

They changed the recipe for the fish tacos. They switched in wheat instead of white tortillas. They also now give you one third of the ear of corn on the cob. {As opposed to the entire ear that they used to give you}.
For dessert, I had the banana pudding. What a disaster. The bananas were black, and I winded up throwing it out.
The waitress was cool, but now I see why they’re always kinda empty. I’ll just stick to Cuban Pete’s, or Ani Ramen from now on. We thought we’d try to support the pita place because it looked like they were struggling. Now we know why.
We WON’T patronize them any more!!!

Came in from the west coast to see my girlfriend and she has been bragging about this new place. Came in on Saturday and enjoyed a number of things. Started off with the Hummus and falafel balls while sharing fish tacos, not much I love more than tacos. Everything was good, wasn’t sure if they baked or fried the Falafel’s but it tasted fresh. We ended up sharing a Tuna Brown rice bowl and they kindly split it for us. It was a lot of food, my girlfriend had to take most of it too go. Overall good experience, enjoyed a bottle of wine from next door and it was a nice Saturday lunch.
The next day, as we were on the bus ride back from the city, I called and made an order for dinner to delivered to her school. We had the steak bowl (medium Rare!) and my girlfriend had the south west I believe. Not gonna lie, I enjoyed it very much. Its not a cheap lunch but i wouldn’t say it is over priced at all. Try it out.

This was a horrible experience! We ordered apps and waited 30min. We watched other tables come in and get there food before us. The service was unbelievably bad and there was no one in here!
The manager /​owner better hire people who actually no what they are doing. The customer service was sad.
